Found out today that the previous owner of my FN2 put this adaptor in. After seeing this I’m 100% certain it’s staying there!

😂 yeah saves you any hassles 👍 unfortunately I will have to remove the centre console again to fit a double din unit and when I eventually can afford a hybrid racing shifter (but that’s a little down the line 😂). Thanks for watching the video and your comment 👍

Going to give this a try today got my short shifter here. Might just leave gearstick in place instead of taking whole assembly out and cut out plastic. See how I get on 🙈

The knotchy 2nd to 3rd gear change you mentioned in this video, would you say the short shifter kit has resolved that isse or is it still knotchy with the short shifter too?

Do NOT take off gear linkage!!! It's an absolute nightmare to re fit!!!!

It was a fiddle to get out and back in. Think I was lucky the previous owner had a hybrid racing short shifter fitted so the twist fittings were easy to move but if they haven’t since the car was made, I’ve heard they can be a nightmare

@@gazzermooney I found getting the linkage cables at least in a position to allow the gear stick mechanism to be tightly bolted down, that allowed me to twist the parts into place, passenger side linkage was easier to get in first then I done the drivers side but that one is the hardest to get the fingers into. I know a guy who used some mole grips to twist these but you have to watch you do t break the plastic.

@@TypeRTweaks Got it sorted, had to fit the shifter then the linkages after, couldn't get my hand in to twist the linkages to slot back into shifter housing so had to use a flat head screwdriver and vice grips seriously awkward but thankfully all tidied up now
