I'm so happy with my shokz openrun (bone conduction style) , I've had them for over 4 years now and basically never take them off outside of the house. Honestly one of my favourite purchases ever, I can't imagine not owning a pair or two now. Having a 24/7 music soundtrack to my life is something I just can't go without after experiencing it for years.

@@LzqxPC Shoutout to the shokz openrun. Ive been a fan of bone conduction for years now. My openruns got damaged recently though so I replaced them with the newer model that came out a few weeks ago and those were a fairly good improvement. They not only have the bone conduction but also have backward firing speakers towards your ears which makes them better for louder environments which is always of course kind of difficult for bone conduction since they don't plug your ears lol

@@VorexiaIt's divisive, but doesn't have to be divisive; Sure better urbanism is framed in left-leaning ways currently, but zoning reform for example explicitly a form of deregulation, a favorite on the right, and the city/town designs being advocated for often have enormous overlap with true traditional city and community design. I could go on, but it's seriously not the kind of thing that has to languish in factionalism and I really hope it doesn't.

The problem with NJB is that he is VERY biased thesedays. He bashes cars when it doesn't make sense to do so, and all his solutions are to minimise the use of cars as much as possible. As someone who cycled 66 kilometeres to work after about a year of using public transport to get to work, I can safely say that Public Transport is notthe end all be all NJB makes it out to be. But then again, I also look at his content from the context of being a Dutch citizen since I was born, so I may look at and interpret his message differently.

‏‪9:10‬‏ the moment they realized that open earbuds review is meaningless without testing them out of the sound control studio
@javannapoli2018
@javannapoli2018 Ай бұрын
3:05 Regarding the 'sound seal technology' I watched the development video they put out for these. This 'sound seal technology' they speak of is using phase inversion to cancel out whatever you're playing. Basically they have a second, outward facing speaker on the earbuds that plays an inversion of whatever you're listening to so that the outward sound is deadened, at least in theory. This is the same process behind all active noise cancellation, but just used in the opposite direction in this case. On noise cancelling headphones, they will have a microhphone picking up outside noises, and the headphones will invert that noise and play it through the speakers, deadening the outside noise. If you want to know more about that process, search for 'wave interference', or specifically 'destructive wave interference'. This works for more than just sound waves as well, it is the case for any waveform. This video explains the process really well kzbin.info/www/bejne/j53PnZhjetZnm80si=1BvDTZ0k-8aNy2W9

a easy way to demo this is play 2 speakers facing each other, one playing in reverse polarity, and in theory you should not hear anything.

agreed. I got my first open ear several months ago and I've used it probably more than all my earphones combined in my life and costs cheap like a good Chinese wired earphone. comfort is absurdly good because it hangs there just like the arms of eyeglasses. since it is open, it is great while doing anything physical or just hearing the environment. battery life is also absurd because batteries can be large unlike TWS earbuds. the only drawback is bass or deep bass-hard to improve on this except larger drivers/speakers.

I bought a pair of LinkBuds when they first came out and over a period of about one year they progressively sounded worse and worse due to the driver getting gunked up with ear wax. The LinkBuds don't have a fine enough mesh (if one at all, I haven't looked at them in a long time) to protect the driver from this type of wear. I also noticed that the left and right buds were degrading in audio quality at different rates.
@smokyz_
@smokyz_ Ай бұрын
@@wizard4599 I don't think I have such ear wax problem as you do (I clean my ears and my earbuds), so I haven't had that problem. I had my first pair since around that time when LinkBuds got released. Lost 1 earbud and then after few months accidentally left the case with the earbud inside in the washer. Battery went to shit so I bought a second pair. Long story short, in a few months, I forgot these in a washer as well, but remembered after few mins, but it was already late - they were already wet. After drying they got fixed, but sometimes the earbuds battery starts going weird and charging only up to 70%. The case is fine though, its easy to open and dry it off. Additionally, their wireless connection is dogshit. They lose connection if you got a body part in between the phone and earbuds. Its enough to have your phone in a front pocket and squat down to get a choppy connection. Or if you go beynd 7m away from the phone with your earbuds. Anyways, I haven't found a proper replacement for these, as I hate having earbuds that block all of the sound. I don't get the hype around active sound cancellation; don't you want to hear what happens around you when you go outside?

I have these and they’re okay. I like them for long periods of listening like at work and chilling in the evening. The analysis of the low bass response is accurate. A few notches below max the bass falls off entirely which I thought was strange. So in loud environments it’s almost impossible to hear these. Like in a noisy break room or something. Nothing has to make a new version that combines these and their previous buds - get a good grip on the ears with these hooks that go over the ears and add more seal/bass/ANC. Best of both worlds, also that will be a lot more comfortable, since my current Nothing earbuds fall off my ears at the gym.

Try the Bose Ultra Open. By far the best headphones I've had, open or otherwise, and I've had a lot

whats so crazy is in highschool 20 years ago I remember looking up on ebay to see if wireless headphones existed and they did. They had a special receiver that plugged into the headphones jack. came with batteries and cost $450.

I have the shokz openfit (not air) and they sound great. Are they better than full over ear headphones? No, but they get you a lot of the way there. 2 year warranty on the shokz vs 1 year on nothing is also something to consider. I used to do the shokz bone conduction headphones since that was the only option that didn't go in or over my ear. They are great for what they were, but music quality was always meh (voice was amazingly clear though). The problem with the bone conduction ones are that the actual speaker mechanism kept coming unglued inside and while the warranty experience was nice, they didn't last more than 1-1.5 years meaning 2-3 years with the replacements in the 2 year warranty. I ended up getting all the shokz bone conduction options, the openfits, some in earbuds, and a few others to try them all out side by side with the intent of keeping the one i liked the most and shokz openfit were by far the best in sound quality. This was before the openfit air so not sure how those compare vs non-air.

Can you guys make a video about neckband earphones. I hate the goddam form factor that most companies make being the small annoying ear buds.

the main question is are they worth upgrading from galaxy buds live? the buds live are still my go-to earphones, given that my ears also suffer from conventional in-ear ones

Ngl, these are cool, but you might want to consider checking out the "Soundcore by ANKER: AeroFit Open-Ear True-Wireless Earbuds." They either come in the regular version or the PRO version. I've been using the regular version for about a year now and they've been amazing! Highly recommend checking them out!

I never understood needing sound for cycling. I do NOT rely on sound, especially in a loud environment. The only thing you might want to hear is a siren, and if you can't hear that over your music volume, than you have it set too high. But other than that, I just blast my ears and only rely on sight.

He explained it wrong, there's an extra speaker on the outside of the bud that tries to cancel the noise for people around you so they can't hear your audio

Would be super cool if you guys compare the Beyerdynamic Verio 200, to this one. I think that they're only two earbuds that nail the open back design. Thoughts? 😁 Once video once again! 🤟🏻
