@@LzqxPC Shoutout to the shokz openrun. Ive been a fan of bone conduction for years now. My openruns got damaged recently though so I replaced them with the newer model that came out a few weeks ago and those were a fairly good improvement. The problem with NJB is that he is VERY biased thesedays. He bashes cars when it doesn't make sense to do so, and all his solutions are to minimise the use of cars as much as possible. As someone who cycled 66 kilometeres to work after about a year of using public transport to get to work, I can safely say that Public Transport is notthe end all be all NJB makes it out to be. 9:10 the moment they realized that open earbuds review is meaningless without testing them out of the sound control studio
@javannapoli2018Ай бұрын
3:05 Regarding the 'sound seal technology' I watched the development video they put out for these. This 'sound seal technology' they speak of is using phase inversion to cancel out whatever you're playing. Basically they have a second, outward facing speaker on the earbuds that plays an inversion of whatever you're listening to so that the outward sound is deadened, at least in theory. This is the same process behind all active noise cancellation, but just used in the opposite direction in this case. On noise cancelling headphones, they will have a microhphone picking up outside noises, and the headphones will invert that noise and play it through the speakers, deadening the outside noise. If you want to know more about that process, search for 'wave interference', or specifically 'destructive wave interference'. This works for more than just sound waves as well, it is the case for any waveform. This video explains the process really well kzbin.info/www/bejne/j53PnZhjetZnm80si=1BvDTZ0k-8aNy2W9

a easy way to demo this is play 2 speakers facing each other, one playing in reverse polarity, and in theory you should not hear anything.

I bought a pair of LinkBuds when they first came out and over a period of about one year they progressively sounded worse and worse due to the driver getting gunked up with ear wax. The LinkBuds don't have a fine enough mesh (if one at all, I haven't looked at them in a long time) to protect the driver from this type of wear. I also noticed that the left and right buds were degrading in audio quality at different rates.
@smokyz_Ай бұрын
@@wizard4599 I don't think I have such ear wax problem as you do (I clean my ears and my earbuds), so I haven't had that problem. I had my first pair since around that time when LinkBuds got released. Lost 1 earbud and then after few months accidentally left the case with the earbud inside in the washer. Battery went to shit so I bought a second pair. Long story short, in a few months, I forgot these in a washer as well, but remembered after few mins, but it was already late - they were already wet. After drying they got fixed, but sometimes the earbuds battery starts going weird and charging only up to 70%. The case is fine though, its easy to open and dry it off. Additionally, their wireless connection is dogshit. They lose connection if you got a body part in between the phone and earbuds. Its enough to have your phone in a front pocket and squat down to get a choppy connection. Or if you go beynd 7m away from the phone with your earbuds. Anyways, I haven't found a proper replacement for these, as I hate having earbuds that block all of the sound. I don't get the hype around active sound cancellation; don't you want to hear what happens around you when you go outside?

I have the shokz openfit (not air) and they sound great. Are they better than full over ear headphones? No, but they get you a lot of the way there. 2 year warranty on the shokz vs 1 year on nothing is also something to consider. I used to do the shokz bone conduction headphones since that was the only option that didn't go in or over my ear. They are great for what they were, but music quality was always meh (voice was amazingly clear though). The problem with the bone conduction ones are that the actual speaker mechanism kept coming unglued inside and while the warranty experience was nice, they didn't last more than 1-1.5 years meaning 2-3 years with the replacements in the 2 year warranty. I ended up getting all the shokz bone conduction options, the openfits, some in earbuds, and a few others to try them all out side by side with the intent of keeping the one i liked the most and shokz openfit were by far the best in sound quality. This was before the openfit air so not sure how those compare vs non-air.

Would be super cool if you guys compare the Beyerdynamic Verio 200, to this one. I think that they're only two earbuds that nail the open back design. Thoughts? 😁 Once video once again! 🤟🏻

Soundcore has some great options in the open ear aswell and they are a bit cheaper, with longer battery life.

I love plugging my ears but glad a product like this exists for those that can't

So nice of you to put the glasses review early in the video so I know I don't want it and it's safe to keep watching without being tempted to spend money

Is this sarcasm? When did they do a glasses review??

can you compare these to the oladance headphones? I have the gen1s and I wanna see how these compare. Hell I'd even try the new airpods if they compare decently
