You almost certainly did not. It's a common beginner mistake and I'm not the least bit judgey, but you should know at any usual layer height the hot end wouldn't be able to keep up, and the printer would never actually be able to hit top speed unless you cranked the accelerations so high that the print came out looking awful other than literal straight diagonal lines across the whole bed.

I've had my Neptune 4 (non-Pro) for about a week now, and this is probably the best video I've seen on it. That said, I've been printing at a real 250-300mm/s, and I haven't had any of the issues seen here - aside from a bit of ringing, my prints have all come out perfect. In practice, this is just as fast as the Bambu printers, and the only thing it lacks is proper input shaping; the accelerometer headers are present on the controller board and it's obviously present in the firmware, there just...isn't one. In a sub-$300 printer, that's not the worst thing in the world I guess.
@Itsudemo1

It may be close to as fast but it's still a v roller bedslinger. It'll wear down quickly when pushing 200mm/s Core XY is for fast printing
@digiscream
@digiscream Жыл бұрын
@@Itsudemo1 - when you can buy 2-4 of these for the price of a CoreXY, it's not really a problem...especially when you consider the closed ecosystem and crappy firmware limitations of most CoreXY printers on the market, compared with this one running Klipper.

It is very nice to see and quite obvious that Dan's knowledge around 3D printing has improved and grown a lot and in a relatively short time! Also really nice to hear that the engineers at LMG are using Vorons. This great as a "first printer with Klipper" option for newbies and I hope printers with stock Klipper that are this affordable reach "ender 3 status", especially since they seem to have a better out of the box user experience. It used to be that consumers would buy an ender 3 and then in the first 5 minutes they started ordering upgrades and printing modifications to make the printer actually print well. I am happy that those days are gone and now you buy a 300$ printer and you can actually have some nice prints without any need for modifications or fixing issues.

Toss in a CHT nozzle and that printer looks like it might be a winner. Its really nice to see cheap printers coming to market with klipper installed so we can print fast. There hadn't been any major advancements in FMD machine in the past 4 years aside from volcano style hotends. Like there have been a few smaller things but now with klipper, Volcano, and CHT nozzles we can actually print really fast. Eventually my sidewinder x1 will die and the neptune 4 pro might be my next printer

I for one was happy when I got the Neptune 3 Max, then a week later releasing the Neptune 4 series! Hoping they dont release the 4 Max for a while! What I can see from that review of the 4.. Differences are the extra fans on the back of the extruder. Extra light on the extruder. 300°C temp upgrade on that nozzle. Yeah im happy and reckon I can upgrade this max with no problems. 😁

Incredible first impression video you did great. Elegoo as a brand has included a lot of the same features and kit to their last couple of generations of Cartesian printer and that's why i tend to recommend them to new users. Other brands you have to upgrade to get the same features when elegoo just realized that this is what people like. The upgrades on this printer is wild with the speed and rails and I'm quite intrigued. Pla+ had been my go-to material for many years since it's the easiest to print with. It's consistent. It's tough and rigid and I can hold some very tight tolerances when prototyping and making fixtures for the shops I work in. 10/10 all machinists and engineers get in to 3d printing as an additional tool in your belt.

"I hope it's not PTFE lined, otherwise you will die of neurotoxin poisoning" Just a PSA for those who don't know, PTFE, commonly known as Teflon, starts to decompose at temperatures above 260°C, so unless you for certain that your hotend doesn't contain PTFE (for example full-metal hotends, most hotends do have PTFE in them) its not safe to print at temperatures above 260°C

i bought one of these as a first 3dprinter based on the review, and some yt vids showing that it wasn't impossible to do 3d cad. Apart from a slight challange with the initial manual levelling, it's been great; easy enough to setup, and use. the network acess is only while printing, which is worth mentioning. the money off discount is available directly. Its taken a little while playing around with settings to get precise holes and first layer for latest version of cura, but it seems to be quite capable. It can handle abs and nylon as well as the usual pla.

Some things he says doesn't sound like he is that much educated in that topic. For example, he says "nice quiet stepper motors" but 90% of the noise of stepper motors comes from their drivers. Meaning, that a really loud printer can get really whisper quiet by just changing the stepper drivers. without touching the motors at all! My first printer was disgustingly loud. Just switching to a "silent-board" made it almost not hearable. Switching to a good 32 Bit board went from quiet to "is it running?" this is just one of multiple examples. I mean, for beginners, its ok. For ppl who are into that for some years... i'd rather watch other YT'ers regarding that topic. still: Love you guys from LTT ;)

26:04 enough said.😂 I’m looking into getting a 3D printer for my son. This stuff is beyond me and I’ve been looking at printers for awhile watching many reviews and they all say why they like something and why they don’t and the next person always says the opposite😂 but from what I can tell based off of others this is a really decent printer in the 300.00 dollar range and won’t leave someone wishing they got something more capable. I might even get him the 4 instead of the pro. It seems like a beginner won’t miss the pro features.

It's Klipper, you can put that firmware on pretty much any consumer printer out there today. I run it on my Creality printers but it won't run on my FlashForge.

My first printer was a piece of crap ANET A8 running some random old version of Marlin and it cost me about $170 on sale, back in early 2017. I then dropped another $25 to immediately replace the PSU (which was a known fire hazard). It was basically a bad Chinese knockoff of a PRUSA MK2 with a crappy laser cut acrylic frame. I probably dumped another $250 into it just fixing things & upgrading parts over the years. Being able to get something this amazing for $299 shows how far things have come since then. I definitely my grab this one of the 3 Max for my plastic squirting needs.

Don't stop swearing! I love it. I like hearing reviews by adults... Boiling down reactions to fit delicate sensibilities takes all the flavor out. I'm not sure if any editors or anyone has complained or not, but if they have, tell them I told them to go fuck themselves, this was a great video. Like seeing your take on these things!

The little fan by the nozzle is to keep the heating block from over heating and to keep temperatures within range. The one on the left and one on the right side are for layer cooling with the big blower accompanying those.

About the prices, Dan- you realize that the 3d printer is just a hot plate, hot glue nozzle(almost), and two motors. held together by the cheapest LAN enabled microcontroller. with enough engineering and software know how it can be very cheap.....

TBH this one looks a lot like a Ender 3 S1 Pro, it has Z motor sync as well, magnetic HB, nice look, print head connects via just single ribbon cable, but spool holder isn't screwed into frame, just clips. And also it doesn't have Type-A port or internet connectivity, but it doesn't feel too bad, i was planning on repurposing my old Galaxy A8+ into a print server anyways

I want more Linus house stuff (or maybe just house stuff would do, others might want to have their houses invaded for cheap upgrades?) and I want more Dan stuff! And the videos that had both, that is what I REALLY want, it is one of those things where the results adds up to something better than the sum of the parts!

The printer I am currently using (and it is also my 1st 3D printer) is Creality CR200B - And for the 1st printer it is actually pretty awesome. The only downside I can think of is that bed levelling is not automatic - it is same as here (4 knobs & sheet of paper trick). But again, the price point is similar to the one in the video, but what you get instead of way too fast printing is fully enclosed printer that is pre-assembled & works out of the box. I was even able to print some ABS stuff and it did not failed. And it is not that the printer is slow. My default print speed is set to 60.

@@monki_sudo For "only" 100 bucks you can buy a bunch of filament rolls though. Most people won't need the P1S enclosure or other small features, if anything since most people just print PLA or PETG you are better off without. Or you can print your own with less money.

Honestly, it would be nice to just put the price near the beginning of the video. Yeah, I know, keeping the price question open keeps up the "suspense", but.... for me, it just makes me look up the price of the thing you're reviewing, because I want to put what I see into relation with the price. At $300, although I don't really need a 3D printer and would have to think about where to put it, I'm still tempted. This is pretty amazing.
