This is not unique to the steam deck as it’s simply a steam feature, but it gets special love when used on a steam deck obviously. For example, you can configure multiple leves of pressure on each trackpad activating different radial menus and basically have “infinite buttons” that way

The dial is genius, but I would want it for either A. Sensitivity. B. Tension/Resistance. No more floppy, flaccid sticks, boys.

With this layout they might as well be the PlayStation handheld version not a fan I take the steam deck over this any day same with the Ally

This is the FIRST handheld I'd trade my Deck OLED for.... BUT: Battery life will be a MASSIVE downgrade.... Windows experience vs Steam OS will be a MASSIVE downgrade... and 1080p on a 7" screen is a battery sucker, I'd rather have 800p. I think Valve is doing the right thing waiting for better silicon, just like they did with the OG Deck.

I do kinda want 1080p, for better desktop usability, but I agree that 800p with VRR would be the sweet spot. Unfortunately as I understand it OLEDs with VRR are too expensive in these sizes.

Oh my gosh...they did it. They FINALLY made a handheld where the joysticks and buttons are OFFSET, which means no bumping into the dumb right analog stick when playing Super Mario World on my 2024 gaming PC! 🤓 (Yes, I'm serious, haha)

120hz? THAT'S impressive? They couldn't be bothered to put a 144hz screen in that thing?? I'll stick with my 144hz gaming laptop thank you very much

The one thing I need to know: Can the joysticks activate gyro at the touch? Ever since the Steam Deck introduced me to that, I've not been able to go back. If it does, I'm down. If it doesn't, I'll pass. Ultimately not a big deal, but I can no longer live without that feature.

This thing sounds like an interesting proposition if it has SteamOS, Haptics in the trackpads, and if it had 2 more back buttons

I’m gonna be honest I stopped caring about all these handhelds coming out Nothing is gonna make me care unless you get an eGPU dock, long battery life (who cares if it’s high graphics at an hour), or it’s a competitive price Like it or not the Steam Deck is still the only handhelds I’ve used that I recommend to others

How annoying is the subpixel arrangement? Bad pentile, okay pentile, or full RGB?
@lepatenteux5923 ай бұрын
The spec that interests me, and is my only complaint on the Deck: will it support eGPU ? It is the only thing lacking on the Deck! You get amazing performance as a handheld, yet it falls appart docked on a TV ! If I could just plug it to an eGPU dock, man, the deck would be the end for me! (I owned the OG Deck, and I currently use the Special edition OLED Deck...)

considering how bad the Home Console market got with only Sony & Microsoft competing? yeah i welcome the flood of Handhelds with open arms ... however, yall need to just drop the weird D-pads, Nintendo figured it out in the 90's just do propper Plus Shapped D-pad, maybe do the 4 buttons like the Dualshock if you want the Tactile feedback, either way, no more pucks D-pads are for precission & they need to be as distinguishable by touch as possible

So I withdraw my previous “he’s clearly growing the beard back”. 😂 Linus please please! We loved the beard! Bearded Linus was friendlier. :) (by the way I’m only commenting on it because you have talked about beard / no beard at length!)

why can't they make 4 rear buttons.... honestly I'd take 6 if they could. I hate ABXY and I hate clicking the sticks.

I dont trust any handheld without SteamOS. Ive seen numerous vids on how awful Windows is on handhelds (and first hand expierence) and i don't think i could ever use something other then the Deck, no matter how much better it might be in performance and stuff.
@A_N1ne2 ай бұрын
hell yes another handheld with trackpads, I love the steam controller and steam deck (though I wish it was track pad primary) and to me the lack on trackpads on other handhelds like the Ally is an instant deal breaker. I don't care how powerful or how long the batter life is or how good the screen is, to me no trackpads no buy, so I'll be keeping an eye on this. good job Zotac

So............. it's a Steam Deck.... but with spywareOS (AKA windows) instead of linux...... Great, ANOTHER one of these. To answer Linus's question at the beginning. No. No we certainly do NOT. Note: (ooh and a webcam to make sure the spying is even WORSE.)

So long as it has color options I’ll consider it. So far everything else looks great. I went a blue one. Or even black would be nice. That boring gray is well…. Boring!

The webcam is a big deal for me, im normally a mobile streamer, not having a webcam sucks on the deck and limits me there
