@burn.it.up.vzaaaa I feel the same way, honestly, it's been long enough since the DP 2.1 spec was released... Brands releasing monitors whose resolution and frame rate depend on the new spec without it should be publicly shamed... Like... I don't care if DSC is good enough, if I'm paying for a car that has a 6L V8, it's only fair to expect that it has tires that won't pop out when it gets to max speed.

@@bren.r brightness is not a problem for most people... Or are you going to tell me that it is impossible to close windows, draw curtains and turn off the lights? Remember... What's the point of putting DisplayPort 1.4 in this? It's 2025... the Asus and MSI versions have DisplayPort 2.1
@BensonOfD
@BensonOfD 16 күн бұрын
What's crazy is that no NVIDIA consumer GPUs even come with DP 2.1 yet. Just bought a new PC with a 4080 Super as a huge upgrade to mine, didn't even think to look and see what DisplayPort it had because I just automatically assumed NVIDIA wouldn't be stupid enough to put DP 1.4 on their newest cards, turns out I was very wrong. Ultimately my fault for not looking into it, but I still would have bought the upgrade anyways. My point is that I doubt monitors will start coming with DP 2.1 as a standard until NVIDIA starts putting it in their GPUs, crazy that they have that much power and influence in the industry. The fact that even newer higher end monitors are still coming with DP 1.4 makes me think that there's a decent chance the 50 Series GPUs STILL won't have DP 2.1, I can't imagine monitor manufacturers wouldn't have gotten the heads up from NVIDIA about including DP 2.1 on the 50 Series cards prior to their release.

3 year warranty on burn in? Cool I guess if you buy monitors on the regular.. My monitors usually last me about 7+ years before I replace them..

The biggest issue that still remains with 4K is that you will want to run some games in 1440p for better framerate, input latency and frametimes... However, you are running 2560x1440 in a non native display, and you get this fuzziness on the display that makes it look worse than 1440p on a native 1440p monitor. So, you either A) run a lot of the single player games in 4k and take the hit on fuzziness on Battlefield or Black ops for example, B) take the hit and get a 1440p monitor instead, or C) Blow a lot of disposable income on a 90 series GPU every gen to keep up with the crack addiction that is 4K Are things like DLAA able to help fix this? Are most of the games now allowing resolution scaling in game mitigating this? I'd LOVE to go back to 4K where I can use a cheaper card, get like 100FPS on multiplayer and switch back to 1440p without fuzzy to get 200FPS on multiplayer titles...

1.4 is trash.... The fact that he didn't call it out simply discredits this as a paid advertisement. It's nothing more.

Please test if it flickers in low-light scenes while using VRR, lots of OLEDS have this issue to the point where it's impossible to use VRR, thanks!

Always remember to enjoy what you've gotten, as focusing on what's new will always put you behind in technology. Plus these high refresh rate 4k monitors need a gorilla of a graphics card.

I think on such a dense display, the OLED fringing on text is pretty much negligible.

There's this stuff called spray paint, it can paint any plastic surface. The cost involved in making multi color products out weights the number that they will sell. Their primary customer is........businesses where they sell 1000s at a time.
