Really well done. I feel confident servicing my sram brakes. I noticed you creating a vacuum with the new fluid in the syringe. Is that to eliminate inherent air in the fluid? Thank you

sorry for the late reply. And thanks for checking out the video. The vacuum is exactly for pulling air from the fluid. It's pretty crazy how much air is just hanging out in it. Sometimes there isn't much but most of the time there's enough to screw up your bleed.

Thanks for the video. At theend of the video..why is that you have to pull the lever at the same moment in which you tighten the bolt?

This is something that I should explain in the video. Thanks for bringing it up. Not only is it in the instructions for every bleed process for brakes, but functionally it remains unexplained. What this technique does is eliminate unnecessary pressure on the bladder and ensures the proper volume of fluid for the brake system. If the lever is not pulled when the bleed port is capped, there will be enough extra volume to create issues with pad spacing, especially on older brakes. Hope that helps!

Hey there, I have an old bike Im trying to tune up and upgrade so I can introduce a co-worker into the sport. The problem is that it has some old Avid Juicy Seven (that have not been bled in years), but the cables are too short for my longer handlebars. Can I just any hydro brake cables from Amazon or do I needs specific hoses because of their age? Everywhere I looked up just talk about bleeding or shortening. Any advice or link to cables would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again

sorry for the late reply. had a really sick kid when you posted this. Maybe you've found a solution. Anyway, the juicy brake lines are fairly specific because of the fittings at the caliper, depending on the model. The hose you need will be determined by it's standard olive and barb or a banjo style connection, but you should try to source Avid parts for this. Jagwire made hoses. And maybe a couple other companies offered products. But make sure whatever you get is designed to match your brakes.
