Hey Dev, I hope it is a mistake and not a misrepresentation, but the socialist meeting is way older than 14 April of 2021. I think it is at least from 2019. I like your content, but this caught me really off guard

There is no misrepresentation. Can these people organise? No. They are too busy falling over trying to establish their control over their group to achieve any cohesion at all. Which is why they are always coopted by dictators - people who forcibly get things done. The weak party loyalists can’t achieve anything.

Isn't communism the one technically exploiting labor? If everyone's labor is valued equally, then no one's is since a medical surgeon will be making just as much as a truck driver. While both are valuable, the truck driver arguably even more-so valuable since they are the life-blood of society delivering goods and produce, the surgeon is dealing with far more complicated and difficult labor.

Yeah. there are 2 kinds of socialists or commies. the incredibly ignorant, and the incredibly evil. the Evil commies, are the ones at the top of the chain, the so called "elites" who attend Davos in the WEF, they know what they are doing and know the consequences of such insanity, and don't care becuase it gives them total control over the "unwashed masses" The rest are simply ignorant sometimes even almost mindless drones who cannot and WILL not educate themselves on basic economics and reality and think with their stunted emotions, and not a single braincell.

Humans are made to live in small collective units called FAMILIES, or tribes back in pre-agurcultral times. There's a reason once we started having societies, collective like those became impossible. Every society on earth went to drawing property boarders. Attempts to achieved such collectivism always turns into some dystopia. We are not bees, we can't live in a collective society. The greater the population, the greater individualism is required. This is why many socialist/Marxist want to "destroy the family unit". Is because they want the "community" or state to become the new big family for everyone. Which overrides natural forming families and requires such in the formation of this new colltive.

33:10 it's nice to hear this mentioned. The whole 'millenial living with parents' slur annoys me, because when my parents hit their 70s, millennial me did the right thing as the only son of the family: I sold my house, left my job, and moved back home to our 100 acres and started running everything, including starting a brand new career from scratch in a new profession. 6 years later, I'm still embarrassed to say I live 'at home' while my dad lives out his days at 81...but also, everything is now in my name, we're 100% debt free, and the property is worth millions in today's housing market. Not that I'd sell probably, the family has been here since 1962, but it's why I'm leery of making fun of anyone who lives with family, I don't know their circumstances. If you want to make fun of me for being the good son and caring about the people I love, who raised me, that's fine, thank you for revealing your character so I can avoid you lol.

@TransRoofKorean
@TransRoofKorean 3 жыл бұрын
And that's the main reason the starvation really occurred: the kulaks were the successful farmers, because they were good at it. Like what Zimbabwe figured out in the last fifty years, what South Africa is soon to figure out, if you take that property [farms] from the farmers that are good at farming and hand it to random people without farms, you get starvation. Duh. But that's what communism and socialism really are, that's why they're unemployed living with their parents, 90% of 'em are useless people who believe everyone else is as useless as they are, and that all that's needed is some reappropriation and then everyone will live in harmony; it's like, no: if you take what the successful people have and mismanage it, we all lose out. You're in the position you're in because you're not good at creating things. You don't produce *anything.* You only consume. What happens when you have a farmer that only consumes but produces nothing?

@@zxyatiywariii8 When it comes to sheer quantity of food, we really do live in a post-scarcity world. The main problems with feeding everyone is a combination of issues stemming from economic and distribution roadblocks. The people producing that food obviously aren't going to give it away for free and even then you need some way to transport and ensure its getting to the people who need it which is a service that also needs to be paid for. Communism and socialism do nothing to fix these issues.

Plus, the U.S totally betrayed Kai-Shek and the ROC postwar by refusing to support him despite having all the capability to do so. That guy was literally preaching Wumao propaganda lol.

It’ll always be more moral to not steal the bread, but it’s an understandable human reaction to to forego moral in the face of absolute necessity. Of course what it entails, for all those spoiled brats who think that any kind of social welfare should entitle them to more than safety, food, and maybe a roof education and health if we have the spare money, is that only absolute necessity justifies or can garner enough sympathy to excuse that kind of theft (be it person to person or, to use the language of people a lot more right leaning than I am, theft by the state), not being too lazy to work or too head-up-your-ass to take a job that isn’t as « high status » as they wish.

I studied Karl Marx a while back to outline 2 interesting viewpoints directed at commies: When a commie/socialist screams “rEaL CoMmuNisM hASn’T BeEn TrIeD BeFoRE” it usually means that no self proclaimed communist state has abolished itself - the end goal of communism is to establish a dictatorship and eventually the dictator would through a series of reforms abolish the state, step down as a dictator and as a result we would live in communes and the worker would start to identify himself with the product it makes. We would stop living in pre-history and the real history of mankind would start. They believe that communism is something inevitable.

@@Ricardo-cl3vs National socialism isn't a form of Marxist socialism, scholars the world over agree with me, hell some of the very first people in the Nazi's concentration camps were German socialists, Communists, and union members. And there is actually a difference between Socialism and Communism, Socialism is a transitionary state between Capitalism and Communism highlighted by a dictatorship of the proletariat and a subsequent repression of the capitalist class, Communism results when this dictatorship of the proletariat no longer has to defend itself from capitalists or counter-revolution, and the capitalist class distinction is extinct, to make a stateless and classless society. Tldr; Socialism has been acheived, Communism has not. And sure, I'll give it to you the Socialists *technically* killed more people than the Nazi's but let's break that down a bit: It's 100 million MAX right? Well let's see... that includes a few million Nazi's, and deaths from their associated revolutions/civil wars, as well as taking the maximum estimates of all death tolls instead of taking the middle ground which is always the most likely answer... on top of that I'm pretty sure there's something about potential births counting as deaths... after all that you can take about 40 million off of that more or less... and of that 60 million left over half can be attributed to China's famine during the great leap forward... point is the 100 million number is an exaggeration. As for the Nazi's they were responsible for starting the European theatre which means they get to claim responsibility for all the deaths, with a minimum accepted number of 35 million and a maximum of 60 million. I'll follow my own example and take the middle ground, that's 47.5 million deaths assigned to the Nazi's... sure less than the combined total of all socialist nations but keep in mind the time frame this all covers. The Third Reich lasted *12* years. The USSR lasted 69 years (nice), China is going on 74 years, Cuba has 64 years. Even during each nations respective "peak" death rate, the nation that comes closest is China during the great leap forward and even then that was a perfect storm of bullshit that led to that tragedy. As for human rights abuses: Germany's population before WW2: 79 million people USSR's populatiom before WW2: 195 million people China's population before and after WW2: over 500 million people. Need I explain why raw population numbers are not a useful metric? On top of all of this we need to look at the most important thing of all: *motive*, there's no point in analyzing government deaths if we're not going to analyze the cause of these deaths. A court bothers to make distinctions between first, second, third degree murder, manslaughter, and criminal negligence resulting in death or murder... to not apply that same line of thought to the political sphere is pointless, death is not just a numbers game there is morality behind it too. So I think we're both in agreement the Nazi's were blood hungry monsters out for world domination right? Good? Good. Now as I said before about half of the deaths attributed to Socialism come from Chinas famine during the great leap forward, 30-40 million deaths if I recall, with the rest largely being during industrialization efforts which are always dangerous and carry a death toll, especially in the time frame a lot of these revolutions occured, safety standards weren't quite as strict... the famine meanwhile was caused by a perfect storm of events, some natural (including drought in some areas and flooding on others), some lies (local government officials failing to report drops in crop yields for fear of reprecussions), some policy related: perhaps most notably being the four pests campaign which (as the name implies) sought to elimimate 4 of the most prolific pests to be found in China at the time: -Mosquitos which spread malaria -Rats and other rodents that spread disease -Flys... for being annoying more than anything -And sparrows, which ate grain seeds and fruit The policy wasn't inherently bad, and campaigns to reduce the populations of various species have been done throughout human history with minimal negative effects... unfortunately China went overboard with the sparrow hunting, the sharp drop in Sparrow populations meant Locust populations *EXPLODED* which ravaged crops all over China, a good policy turned into a tragedy due to a lack of communication and proper population tracking. As for the Ukranian famine under the USSR it's a similar story of policy with good intentions executed poorly. And there's not much point in analyzing deaths of political opponents since the only useful way to look at that is going by a case-by-case basis. So idk, maybe I'm crazy, but I'd rather have a government with good policy ideas have those ideas be executed poorly than have a government with horrible and cruel policy ideas executed flawlessly. And again, please elaborate on how Socialism is a failure? Under the USSR Russia went from a feudal agrarian society to a space-faring, nuclear-capable, super-power with the second largest economy in the world, on top of leading industrialization efforts across its whole territory. China under Mao *alone* saw its population double and its life expectancy increase by ~20 years on top of a massive industrialization effort, China today is one of the most powerful nations on Earth, nuclear capable, and has its own space program, and the second largest economy on Earth (sounds familiar 🤔) Cuba is one of the better Latin American nations to live in, certainly when compared to the likes of Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico and has a well developed health care system which is quite rare for that part of the globe. Despite the collapse of the USSR (due to many factors, both external and domestic) I'd say socialism has left a solid impression... it clearly gets good results.

27:30 ancient humans did not live in communist communes. Yes, they were transient hunter gatherers, however that has little to do with what Marx proposed, which is a large state entity that redistributes resources to the annomonous plebs from the top. Marx formed a lot of his ideas around "primitive peoples" using information that is now considered widely outdated and racist (Arguably even "colonialist"). Germans had a strange fascination with the "Nobel savage" motif, which is why I don't like reading most German philosophers from the 1800s-early-1900s. The use of the Nobel savage trope doesn't even make sense in communism when you think about how Marx wanted to use automation to advance the worker's interests (Notice how today's communists never talk about that?). A sedentary automated society has no resemblance to a tightly nit hunter gatherer society. Advocates of communism like to claim communism is classless yet the ideology is inherently hierarchical because of its use of state violence. They have the naïve idea that once everyone has their needs met (Whenever that is), the state will just evaporate and the proletariat will assume power... Which would likely just cause a vacuum for capitalism to flourish again. You would not have this in hunter gatherer societies, because everyone in those societies have close bonds due to everyone knowing one another and being related by blood. Hell, even those societies had hierarchies, if not from age than from their roles, such as being a spiritual leader. This was very much the case with indigenous people in north America before colonization, who even had Nations and territories of their own that they competed for. That is the key to their communities, close BLOOD BONDS. These were people who's religious philosophy involved (and to an extent still does involve) ancestor worship. This is why a post-communist society wouldn't be possible (when the state gives up power to the people), because people generally don't have as much of a vested interest in supporting their community when they are surrounded by strangers. A "socialized" society does not function very well when you don't even know your neighbors, this is why communist countries always produce communities that willingly steal and backstab one another. Hilariously enough, I think communist societies would look more like those small rural towns socialists claim to hate so much. A cluster of insular communities that produce their own "means of production" that have established their own weird religious/cult enclaves, similar to Hutterites. That is what "real" communism would look like, just with less patriarchal control.
@b-chroniumproductions3177
@b-chroniumproductions3177 2 жыл бұрын
Many of the things that communists claim to hate so much actually exhibit some of the ideal characteristics of a "real communist society". For another example: the traditional family, who shares the food etc. In fact, it's probably WHY communists hate these things so much - they stand in their way, and they must be replaced by the state.

Real capitalism/classical liberalism has never been tried. As long as there is a governing body (body -> corpus -> corporation) that can artificially influence the market (making it anything but free) and take your property from you without your consent (taxes are mandatory, try not paying and see what happens) you have neither a free market nor actual private property/ownership (you have to pay tax even to "own" supposed "private" land that will be seized if you don't) which are the only things that capitalism is about.

George Orwell was a hardcore socialist revolutionist. What happens to, what I would call, true believer, because political ideologies are largely beliefs, is they get shafted by real politicians who understand and know how the game works, and leverage that for personal gain. Orwell fought in the Spanish Civil War but the Republicans, including himself, were busy fighting Stalinists instead. Many of the champagne socialists are using buzz words to make themselves feel better, or to make use to foolish youngster to deepen their pocket or get elected. They are safe because in a stable, rational country, leftist coups can be easily dispersed by rational people. If a real or political leftist take power, it would play out like French and Russian revolution. The French revolutionist began to purge everyone, and the first thing Lenin and Mao did when they have some power is to purge other leftists.
