Pork Lard may be more costly u don’t need to use as much “oil” as vegetable oil / peanut oil/ palm oil etc. The dish will be very smooth & fragrant.

Palm oil stir fried with garlic mince also another good replacement. Fried garlic oil also delicious

Yup, hawkers will sometimes mix palm olein oil and pork lard. It’s cheaper than 100% pork lard

no skill. they need to use mee to bind the noodle. skilled fryer in Penang only use koay teow. in singapore, they need to change to fried koay teow mee and accept that they are not true one
