Nice video. I’ve been out of shooting birds for so long I have no idea if I could still hit anything or not. I’d love to get back into it. Have a great weekend Desert Dog!

Mr Dog, I love you man… but sporting clays combined with bird hunting does in fact increase your game hunting ability if you shoot gun down on clays. Most “top” shooters in my province(BC) (Alberta) are killer on ducks, geese, pheasants, and doves. However, shotcam combined with shooting at clays or birds can for sure improve your shooting. I have considered using it to identify my weaknesses. I found most hunters biggest problem is reaching for the gun too early, and not knowing how to get the gun into their shoulder and on their face effectively in awkward positions. I have known two guys who couldn’t break 40% of their clays, but when hunting, birds fall to the ground effortlessly. And yes, every shotgun enthusiast should be able to shoot all three variations of generating lead. Your body position like you say can determine your type of lead.

Thanks for the tip. I have a ShotKam gen3 and was bummed out by the inadequate battery life. I am going to get the newer version and hope it's better.

The gen 4 will run for a solid 12-15 hours on a full charge. It's a huge improvement. It also has double the memory and better low light capability.

The video I needed. I can't hit a barn with a banjo.

Dog of the desert. Idid enjoy this video. I'm not a great shotgun shooter. Hmm. Wonder if that device could be attached to my Remington 1897. Mebbe on the Citori Superlight. Sorry - here we go with an off topic comment. I couldn't help but notice the bandage on your right "bird" finger. This is a perfect opportunity. Whenever anybody asks, "What happened to your finger?", you can reply, "I was giving the finger and the roof fell in." That one came from my old pal, Straight Allen, who, many years ago, spun out his '72 FX on a patch of greasy pavement in East Oakland, CA. He invited himself up to visit us during Christmas that year. We had to drive to the airport in the snow in my '65 Dodge Powerwagon. His right arm was in a cast. It had been signed by Sonny Barger! When we picked him up at SeaTac, he announced very loudly, as we were waiting for the shuttle train to take us to the main terminal, how he was giving the bird and the roof fell in. Needless to say, we had one complete car to ourselves. He's now living very happily in Nevada City, CA. He recently got that old '72 FX running again. Ride free, man.

I've wanted one to analyze my shots. Just having one on the gun I know would improve my follow though simply for no other reason then I would be trying to keep the camera pointed at what I shot. They're not inexpensive though. Is there an option to disable the reticle options being imposed on the video for hunting vids? I can't recall ever seeing a video without the red dot on there and in certain instances that would be nice.

Yes, on the Gen 4 you can turn off the reticle completely.

@@desertdogoutdoors1113 Uh oh... might have to save up now. 😂 That opens up the ability to stabilize out recoil bounce in editing.

I use it for skeet and trap to get feedback my misses.

I was told to use mine after the session looking at the misses to see what when wrong. Then to look at the hits before the session to visualize what when right.
