In today's video, I give you my 6 Keys to By Yourself Basketball Training! These basketball training tips will help you instantly increase your basketball workouts and training! The awesome thing about these simple basketball training tips is that they are super easy to implement for players at every level. By implementing these training tips into your game you can almost immediately skyrocket your scoring and your overall basketball skill level!
So my first key to getting the most out of training by yourself is to make sure you have the "3 main components" for basketball training which are ball handling, finishing, and shooting. If you can make sure you are implementing all of the 3 core components into each one of your basketball workouts you will for sure be getting a well-rounded workout with 3 components that directly translate to a real game. If you look at the top players in the NBA they all do a great job of incorporating these 3 components to each basketball workout.
My second key to training by yourself is to make sure you are "hyper-specific with your training" I still believe that it's a good thing to make sure you are getting a good well-rounded workout, but it's also important to identify areas of your game that need improvement so you can spend your training time becoming the best basketball player you are capable of becoming.
My third key is something that I see way to much in the basketball training scene, and that is what I call "Casual Shooting". This can literally destroy your basketball training not only is it something you should never do, it basically trains your mind and body to play at a pace that isn't indicative of actual game speed. My recommendation is to cut casual shooting out of your basketball training altogether.
My fourth key to by yourself basketball training is to track your results! This is something I'm huge on! Tracking your progress through any endeavor is important, but it's especially important when it comes to training. This helps you track accomplishments when it comes to new milestones, and it also helps you find your weaknesses. Tracking your results is something that every basketball player should incorporate into their basketball training!
My 5th tip to training by yourself is to challenge yourself. Sometimes the monotony of training by yourself can cause players to get complacent, so I recommend finding new ways to push yourself during your training sessions so you can always make sure the intensity level is where it should be.
My last tip and arguably my most important tip when it comes to basketball training is to stay consistent! Just like anything else you do in life you only become great by being super consistent and disciplined to getting better at your craft. I recommend that players spend at least 5 days a week working on their game in some form or fashion. Consistency is huge in basketball make sure you aren't slacking.
As always make sure you are paying close attention to these basketball training tips so when the time comes you can really expand your game to the next level! Watch the video all the way through and implement these scoring tips into your game today!

This is what I exactly need for my basketball game and mentally, and getting prepared for next level of basketball. You don't need to practice on your own, but if it seems that way. Go with it, be the best player you can be yesterday, and become the best player you can be.

Thank you I needed this one. I been playing 1.5 years( no coach, only played streetball) and honestly the only thing that got me better is consistency (I play games 2-3hrs a day). Lately I got studies in my way, and I’m starting to play like trash due to how less I am playing. I realized I might need to do actual training.

T Miller hold the ball in your dominant hand while your other hand is on the side. If you cant keep it up then just get rid of the 2 hand habit first. You cant hold the ball too long, you need a snap on one hand. (Im in seventh grade :p)
