My brother in law is Hindu and we are Christians. When my sister introduced him to us, we were all so happy. He's a wonderful human being, and they're so happy together! They will be celebrating their 13th wedding anniversary this year. They have a beautiful 10 year old girl. Religion was never an issue between the two families either. His or ours. My niece is brought up with both Hindu and Christian values. They go to both temples and to the church. When they visit us in Kerala, we also go to a very famous mosque in Beemapalli, Trivandrum to pray and seek blessings. They have managed to maintain a good balance between both faiths. More than the religious aspect, it is the spiritual and secular aspect of the religions that my sister and brother in law pay more attention to. We have always been a secular family. (touch wood!) So is my brother in law's! So, together we celebrate all the festivals and take part in all religious ceremonies in both the houses. It's a matter of great pride and happiness for us.

I am a hindu. not just a hindu the hardcore religious and spiritual person.But my soulmate is Christian.last year She proposed me But i say no to her just because of her religion. But she never gave up on me and she really tried very hard to convince me and for building our relationship. So at that point me bhi pighal gaya. And I say yes for relationship. But we decide some parameters for our relationship. They are like I will never go to church and she cant force me for this. Like this I never force her to come to temple and to participate in hindu rituals. Its her own choice to come or not. We mutualy respect this rules. So our relationship is going very smoothly. But from last 3 months she is coming with me in temple participating in festivals and rituals. But she never even asked me to visit a church. So that is our mutual understanding and thats why I love her.

I am a Christian and my bf us Hindu. We both loved for over 5 years. But the problem was my guy was telling me to convert to his religion and i wasn't okay with it. I have told him from beginning of the relationship itself and he was like asking me to convert to his religion and if not the marriage won't take palce. I am a Hindu boy, age 25. I am in love with AG Christian girl. We love each other, but we are not sure how to proceed further to marriage due to difference in our faiths. Yes children are going to be the biggest decision in a interfaith relationship. I think raising a child with both religions is the best course. Have them around both communities and let them drew off both religions equally. That sounds difficult but only when the child is older can you really discuss religion. I love my fiance and my religion. Thankfully I am able blessed to have both in my life. I accept him and everything he is. I also love Jesus and know that Jesus knows what he means to me. Anyway that is how I plan to raise kkids. ✌🏻

Most likely, there has to be compromise in favour of christianity. The child has to be christian. You have to be sacrifice your parental sentiments, culture, habits, little little things. Will your mother able to call the child Anotny or Joseph? Are you OK with it. If you have little wish to take your child to a temple or tell a story of mahabharat etc. think about it. It may be difficult. The child has to believe only christian. Be very very wary... Careful. You may have to go to church every sunday after sunday...

I came to notice it very late. All abrahamic beliefs are very rigid, be it judaism, Christianity, Islam. They keep on fighting with each other. They hate Idol worshippers ( NOT ALL but WHO are fundamentalists). My only question to all Hindu brothers and sisters, is there scarcity of girls and boys in your own community? Why do you need to try to make a relationship with a girl / boy from other community? At the end of the day you are embracing more complications. NO marriage remains dreamy and same loving down the road after few years. Even if within the same belief, both the boy and the girl have to adjust tremendously to make the marriage work. Adjustment and sacrifice are needed thousand times more if boys and girls are from two different belief systems and are followers. So they should ask themselves 200 times before they take such a decision how much they are ready to sacrifice for each other. Decision has to be made on practical situations NOT on emotions because in joint life within 2/3 years the first thing that flies out of the window is love specially when both the families are not ready to accept. If families are very progressive and welcoming and ready to reciprocate both the cultures then it should be ok. UNFORTUNATELY in 95% cases, it does not happen. Why complicate life unnecessarily? Life is more than just falling in love with somebody and thinking of getting married. Life has greater meaning.

If Christian marries a hindu , he/she will be made to convert to hinduism at some point , I have seen it. A non hindu relative of mine married a hindu girl and 2 years into the marriage she wanted him to convert to hinduism. He said "We agreed that we wouldn't ask to change religions and she said "I have changed my mind" . The marriage ended in divorce and a custody battle is going on for the 2 children they had. Sad but true.
