I used to play a game in my childhood called black-and-white 2. It's a game where you are God and you can decide whether to be a good God or a bad God. I always used to choose a bad god because it was more fun to attack a town rather than winning them over by building an impressive city. But if I played it again I might choose to be a good girl instead.

Rejecting satanic hollywood and its movies, tv shows, rejecting video games which is a waste of time, and Bible tells us to redeem the time because the time is evil. There are souls that needs to be saved, that will perish instead because lazy, wicked, slothful, lukewarm "christians" was too busy playing call of duty and pokemon. To be a true christian you need to be seperate and holy, not touching any unclean thing. Gamer christians are lukewarm and will be spewed out by Christ, see Revelation 3:16

Exactly. I’m a Christian too and I thought, “Well with these standards you can’t play video games, you can’t board games, you can’t watch movies or TV shows, you can’t watch the ball game, and you can’t read a large amount of books”. There’s probably more but you get the idea. I think it’s okay to do these things as long as you don’t idolize them and put them before God and you don’t watch anything with an Anti-God or Anti-Christian message.

Playing games itself shouldn't be discouraged so long as it doesn't incourage ungodly behaviour in them. There has to be Ballance of course, but everyone need some distractions some times. Try help them schedual time to play and time to work, and when they play they can choose what to do so long as it's not ungodly. If you ban video games for being unproductive you might as well ban all forms of entertainment entirely.

I have to disagree respectfully. I think it is okay for a Christian to play video games, watch TV, and movies as long as they don’t glorify sin and we let them become idols. If we let them consume us and we prioritize them before God then yes that is a sin. We should also not let them affect us, our family, our friends, our work and school in a negative way. We also need to know the difference between reality and fiction. I just played the original Assassins’s Creed (2007) and it actually teaches good morals and values. It teaches taking responsibility for ur own actions, do not put urself above others, discipline, obedience, etc. All 4 of those r very important values and lessons that need to be applied in everyone’s life everyday. So no, I don’t think any that is a sin unless it embraces sin and it causes u to have a negative effect on ur relationship with God. God Bless everyone.

I am a sinful man who was just baptized a few months ago and hope to turn back to god. I know that most video games do not edify us and too many of them are indeed a waste of our time. However, if we explore this world, nothing is purified, almost everything is corrupted, not only video games. The only precious that is not corrupted are God's words left for us and the holy spirit. So in my opinion, we should take most of our time to study the scriptures and pray with our holy spirit. Also, The most important thing is to try your best to obey the scriptures and practice them. We are corrupted, but god gives us a chance to turn back, and we can not waste this chance. No matter what happens to our life, practicing our faith is the priority of our life. Other than this, just try our best to make a good balance since it is impossible for us to not contact with a corrupted world.

There is nothing wrong with gaming itself. It is akin to watching TV or movies. So long as we are not playing to the detriment of our lives or responsibilities, being slothful about it, or letting it become an idol, it is absolutely no different from watching a TV show or movie. We must also not let such entertainment distract us from our mission as disciples. Unless you are exclusively watching Christian TV/movies (there is woefully little actual biblical content) or The Chosen, you are exposing yourself to all sorts of wicked corruption, violence, lies, and deceptions of the world. Literally all major TV shows and movies are chock-full of lies and propaganda. How many of you believe in evolution? How many of you believe the Earth and the universe are billions of years old or that dinosaurs died out millions of years ago? TV and movies are absolutely rife with these secular ideas. I'd say playing video games does indeed profit me, especially in the area of hand-eye coordination. And one of my favorite games of all time has popularized the following phrase among its fans: Jesus Christ be praised! Yes, that does indeed glorify the Lord.
