There’s a line in Arkham city that to me is the absolute dealbreaker when it comes to the Lazarus pit. Ra’s claims that every time he steps into the pit he fears who is going to step out because every time he does, it takes him that little bit more. Bear in mind at this point Ra’s has already been tainted to the point where he considers creating a death cult of ninjas as a perfectly reasonable solution for organized crime. If he is scared that he is going to fall deeper into madness by using it know, things have gone terribly wrong.

Honestly, I think itd be cool to see a future where Batman utilizes The League of Assassins to the fullest. He’s turned them all into non-lethal agents of the nights so he can keep Gotham safe at all times, but maybe it’s become slightly extreme. Idk

I think it'd be interesting to have a storyline where Bruce is forced to use the Lazarus Pit, either through being pushed into it or through it being the only way to save his life, then having to grapple with the consequences of using it when he had previously sworn not to.

I don’t think Batman should use the pit, but I will admit it would be interesting to see a what if story where Batman finally takes Ra’s place as leader of the league of assassins. Maybe it could be a cautionary tale about sticking steadfast with your core beliefs? Maybe Batman figures he can kill Ra’s, but then throw the villain into the pit once he is in charge so technically he didn’t kill him. And then slowly overtime he begins coming up with more and more loopholes until his no kill rule is only in writing and nothing more. If you want to justify why Batman would make those decisions, just say that he died and was resurrected by the Lazarus pet, so it was already affecting his mind

Here's a story pitch for you: Batman is forced to/accidentally kills someone. He psychologically can't deal with breaking his "No Kill" rule. So he comes to the conclusion that there is a loophole in the rule if he uses the Lazarus pit to being them back. Then he brings the person back and he has to deal with the consequences of the person being different or what are the consequences for Batman when he realizes he can actually kill people and just being them back. Would he start to abuse it? How would the Bat family react to this? Maybe this could be the plot behind a version of Injustice where Batman is corrupted.

This is really interesting and a great idea with many possibilities.

I don’t know if anyone has ever stated this before, but in a strange way, isn’t using the Lazarus pit kind of cowardly? I mean, think about it, Ra’s May talk a big game, but when you take away all of his loyal assassins and his own fighting skills, he is an old man who is terrified of the thought that he is going to die of old age. He knows the pit is corrupting him, he knows he is addicted to it, but he is terrified of the very notion that he will die, and the world will move on without him. He can’t accept that his time has been over for hundreds of years. I know we all fear the end on some level, but most of us come to accept our mortality and just appreciate whatever’s time we have left. Turning that fear into motivation to live life to the fullest. But Ra’s can’t accept that, because deep down he is very afraid and the pit uses that fear to control him

Only aging 1 year for every century sounds awful. If I could maintain a healthy body the whole time I'd probably still be good to check out by like 200

This could definitely be a great story to write about since Batman because of his morality would want to refuse using the pit at first but thinks about the benefit of it giving him longevity to continue fighting crime. Then adding a theme of addiction, this could definitely be an interesting story.

Unrelated but I was wondering if you could maybe do Unpoppular Opinions on certain Marvel Characters/Teams? I know that your channel is primarily about DC content but I would honestly really love it if you did Unpoppular Opinions videos on Iron-Man, Spider-Man and the X-Men and maybe some videos on lesser known Marvel Characters that deserve more attention.

I don't think so. I they want to make a story about Batman being young or having a resurrection process and/or immortality they can use clones, like he makes a clone of himself, trains it, or has other people train it so that it is just as good and better than he is, like on the level of Damian Wayne and others, and he does a kind of mind transfer to where if he dies he transfers his mind into that clone in order to get a new body, which would be better than his original and he can last long with his method and with the training and development of the clones he will gain more and better skills and techniques to add to his arsenal, maybe being able to compete with Damian, Lady Shiva, Cassandra Cane, and more.

I think he should definitely use it, but find a way so it doesn't corrupt his mind or cause any adverse effects. Be able to tweak the water/power so it uses all it's healing ability but none of the daming rituals that causes any mental instability. Similar to Bradley Cooper in Limitless. Perfect NZT and wean off of it, but culture all the good to benefit as much as possible.

I am of the opinion that there’s need to be an issue where they get rid of this thing because this is a cop out from death quite frankly. Also Talia drugging Bruce is stupid just let it be a night of passion

I like story "DC vs Vampires" where the Lazarus Pit to cure Vampirism but the pool would be tainted and couldn't be used again
@webslinger473323 күн бұрын
Batman shouldn’t willingly use it. If he just so happens to fall in the pit during a fight with Ra’s or Tailia? That’s different 🤷🏾♀️. AT MOST he would keep vials of Lazarus water as a last resort.

I believe the people that should use the pit would need a strong mind to not give in to insanity. And yes Batman has a strong mind but he still has tendencies where he went batshit (pun i tended) on others. And Batman himself is technically insane. I thought it was interested that when joker was put in the lazurus pit he turned sane

I think it would be a situation in his 50's that he wouldn't have a choice. Let's say that it's a War with Darkseid, Trigon, Vandal Savage, or any number of godlike beings. Bruce Wayne must make a decision to protect Earth and Gotham City from falling alongside the Multiverse. Let's say he soaks in it for a couple of hrs. The consequences could be addressed in a Story or Arc.

I don't think Batman would use it. He saw the effects of the Lazarus pits in the manuscript in "Birth of the Demon" and always in the same comic we saw that Batman's objective is to destroy all Lazarus pits to prevent Ra's to come back again. This was repeated many other times in other comics so i believe that if Batman ever had the idea of taking for himself a specific Lazarus pit he would have done it a long time ago. I believe Batman ultimately would have no problem accepting his own death or the death of his loved ones (for natural causes) but he would find a way to help Gotham and the world even beyond the grave. For example in Batman Vol.1 #13 (yes this is a story from the Golden Age) Bruce decided to write a series of journals called "Observations on Crime" in order to help future generations of crime fighters

Batman using The Lazarus Pit could be a great Elseword story, but in the main continuity. Since The Lazarus Pit is supernatural, I think Deadman should dig up his body & put it in The Lazarus Pit, so it can restore it.

No because you know that thing has side effects and I’m curious on that did Ra’s met Jesus as this pit is named after the man that Christ brought back to life, I wonder what Ra’s believes in him as I think he would believe he is God as his followers treat him like one?
