Yep and the last time I will watch it live, unless they change the way it is judged and the judges themselves. That score was a massive insult to Brendog, might not have been a winning run but to score lower than Strait, come on get a grip. No doubt Berrecloth will issue another patronising video to try and justify their existence.

Easy fix, make a rule that only a certain % of the run can be artificially made. I watched live as far as Bren's run and then rage quit, that score was bordering on insulting considering someone who fell off still got a better score!

Darren Barrelcloth has some kind of personal vendetta against Bren, so he can never get above 3rd (that would give him a better ranking). They deliberately gave him a ridiculously low score so he hisn't auto-selected next year (and likely wouldn't bother coming now even if he did get invited).

I complained directly to Red Bull immediately after the 76.0 score flashed on the screen live. It was immediately obvious that Brendan's Monster sponsorship played a part in the scoring. From then on. as the streaming coverage proceeded you could tell that the scoring team were attempting to minimise their huge mistake.

Semenuk is obviously an incredible rider and a legend but even he said "wow wasn't expecting that.." when he got first place. They need to switch some of these judges out. Watching the digging, the prep work, and the run testing actually added value to the event for me. I think it helps to really appreciate how much work goes into the lines, and how insane every run is. Watched it on KZbin that evening. There were a couple of watch parties in OC and SD at bike shops. I think the judges have been vilified way too much. The problem is the scoring system. Zero reward for creativity, originality, or insanely technical riding. 100% for slopestyle tricks. The top 4 put down insane trick runs. 11th place had the best free ride line.

If you're doing a "freeride" contest, how hard the line is should always be the no1 scoring category. Tricks should matter only as a divider for riders with lines that are judged score the same. Meaning, ofcourse tricks should score better than straight airs BUT the line should always be the most important factor. If not the riders should just team up and build a big air slopestyle run down the mountain and see who does the hardest tricks, right?

New Rampage rules. New part of the mountain range every year. 1 week to scope and dig your line. No sharing lines other than entry and exit areas. Points for dig, tech, difficulty, control and style, including a few points for feature transition tricks. I' rather see someone somehow get down a gully in control than double backflip off a park jump. Viewer online voting is a % of the overall score. You're selling brands, connect with people, get engagement, it's what the sponsors want. I think Deak said once a bloke with a gob is going to get more views than a race winner. Gonna big up the local lad Tom, even if Liskeard is more or less England, his gully was raw AF! and totally in control, loved it. Great to see his come back from a pause boss the canyon and better than in practice. Kudos for not risking a 2nd run just for those twunts in the booth and a few crumbs of points.

I did watch but not live. I watched the live broadcast but just after the fact so I could fast forward. I honestly think that yes Brendan should have 100% won. That run was sick. Senenuk's run also insane but Faircloth was unique and original and simply the best.

Brendog was robbed. He had the best line by far. Terrible judging. Great riding from the man himself though.

Thoughts on judging changes: Points deductions for multiple crews working on the same feature, points awarded or deducted for track widths, heavier weight for creativity and use of mountain and precision. plenty more ideas too

I watched it live. Stayed up late. I had been following Brendog, Olly and Deaks all week put blood, sweat and tears into this and after Brendogs run I was absolutely gutted, I felt cheated, remember Lewis Hamilton at the end of the 2021 season? It felt like that. Don't get me wrong the 'winning run' was absolutely amazing. But it wasn't Freeride. Sort it out Redbull.

That is exactly what I felt like too, great shout. I totally remember thinking about that F1 blunder, just thinking that makes this whole process pointless. I haven’t watched F1 since. I like fair play, I like sportsmanship. That crew deserved the title. Simple as that.

Aussie here. Watched the replay before I saw any social posts about winners. Godziek's run was better than Semenuk's in my opinion. But Brendog's was the one that made me have more "whoa WTF" moments. He should have scored way higher. My wife was watching with me, and even after Semenuk's super smooth stylish run, I said "nah, that won't win." But it did! I would have been happier with either Brendog or Godziek winning.

Bren was top 3 100% but while ever he has those green stripes on his helmet and comes from the UK he's not getting a podium... Time for a Euro Monster sponsored Rampage style event I think with judges from all over the globe...

I watched the replay, not live. I'm in the US. I think Red Bull did get the coverage much better this year because of live drone shots, cameras up on the mountain etc, instead of TV cameras down at the bottom and helicopter shots only. If Red Bull wants it to be a slopestyle event just brand it as such just like Hardline is an extreme downhill event Rampage is an extreme slopestyle event. If it is a freeride event then why did Brendog get such a low score this year. I was pretty happy to hear the crowd boo on the replay because it shows what the actual fans onsite thought about such a crap score. He did have the most freeride line. Like you pointed out, every run was sick! All of the competitors nailed it. I was dumbfounded at the size of the cajones of some of the guys hurling themselves off the side of a mountain like that.

You summed up how I felt after watching rampage. Brendog was the only one doing free ride and should have won . Fair play to all the other riders some of there slopestyle tricks were insane . Think I will just watch hardline next year ,

Points should be decided for every section shared so you’re actually rewarded for creating a unique line with your dig crew!!! Personally i actually preferred Brendogs run last year as that knife edge run where he jumps from one bit to another was simply heart stopping! Free ride events where your bringing a dig crew with hand tools for 2 weeks before to create a run SHOULD be rewarded and part of the score! How many riders did we see riding down the same drop….. also, if Monster riders are not going to treated fairly then make it Redbull riders only event! Don’t screw them over!!! And have Can chatting absolute crap saying “the problem is he made it look too easy” awful commentary! Awful cheesy commentator!

I did 4 minutes worth of research and simply searched the riders names in google. Somebody may want to put more time into this..... This was "Red Bull" event. 1st. Brandon Semenuk: 92.73 Sponsored by Red Bull 2nd. Szymon Godziek: 91.66 Sponsored by Red Bull 3rd. Tyler McCaul: 90.66 Not sure 4th. Tom Van Steenbergen: 89.33 Sponsored by Monster 5th. Kurt Sorge: 87.16 Sponsored by Red Bull (used to be?) 6th. Thomas Genon: 85.83 Sponsored by Red Bull 7th. Carson Storch: 85 Sponsored by Red Bull 8th. Adolf Silva: 83.50 Sponsored by Monster 9th. Ethan Nell: 82.33 Sponsored by Monster 10th. Kyle Strait: 78.66 Not sure 11th. Brendan Fairclough: 76 Sponsored by Monster (and he did bring a cooler full of monster in one of his build vids) 12th. Reed Boggs: 74.66 Not sure 13th. Talus Turk: 72 Not sure 14th. Luke Whitlock: 70.66 Not sure 15th. Tom Isted: 50.53 Not sure Bienvenido Aguado Alba: No Score I really only looked at this for a few minutes and I hope I am wrong, but HMMMMM?????

The true Red Bull rampage runs were Brendan's, Kyle's, Tom's, Tyler, Carson's and Simon Godzie. Everyone knows that Brandon S is an incredible Rider and the things he did were incredible, but it's just taking away from the free ride aspect. It's not necessarily slope style because they're still coming down a crazy steep mountain but it's more slopestyle than free ride. You're supposed to pick cool in different lines to come down that are scary and challenging not just all big drops and jumps. A freaking backflip over a 50-ft gap is insane especially the Roll in. Building a jump up to a tiny landing on a giant rock and then dropping off a giant rock is pretty insane also

Hi Guys Enjoyed the show this week. First I watched Rampage live as I was working night shift here in Australia. Managed to see all the first runs, then tuned in again to see them take a break until 5pm. Got up and watched the last part to the show only to see 2 runs and a couple of guys pass. Really enjoyed Brendogs line and run. I had watched his socials leading up to the event and only watched to see his run. Maybe he wears the wrong brand on his helmet? 🤙
