How about taking Chelsea Gray off who has not played in the last 10 months and is still questionable for the rest of the WNBA season? That’s not hard at all. Or even diana Tarasi stats are lower than a rookies this year. Clark has better stats and almost every category even turnovers to Assist ratio. Tarasi’s point guard and she’s only averaging 1.6 assists again. That’s terrible. Clark is averaging 6.35 times as many.

In 92 ,Shaquille O'neal was the number 1 draft pick , Alonzo Mourning was #2, Christian Laetner #3 and won back to back NCAA championships .. One key item in USA Basketball’s mission statement is “Its mission is to promote, grow, and elevate the game of basketball.” Women’s basketball is at a critical moment in time with its best and most popular female ambassador they have ever had. Dream team took Bird and Magic who were essentially retired and not top 12 to the Olympics because they didn’t need them to win games and their inclusion would popularize the sport immensely. And that’s why the men never had to beg for viewers or complain about being under compensated.

Diana Taurasi's stats are below Clarks and a lot of other W players. She's a step slow. Chelsea Grey hasn't played a game since last Oct. and is listed as injured. Griner has played all of two games, so we don't know how she's playing right now. They say "Clark didn't try out and that's the reason". If so, they could have said that back in May. Taurasi and Stewart made the team before they were in the W....They say her fans will be mad if she doesn't play much. They're madder that she didn't make the team. There's more going on here. All I know is that I’m going to be 50 years old this year, and I never saw a WNBA game until Caitlin Clark showed up. And I’m not a Caucasian guy neither. Clark is not the caliber of an Olympic Athlete. She started her downward trend when "she lost the national championship for Iowa" Thats right she was the reason they lost. I have watched every game since she joined the Fevers. Yes she scores points and has assists but her turnovers and fouls have offset any of the points gained in nearly 50% of the games. Example...Last night for example she scored 10 points but Conn made 14 on her turnovers and fouls. Shame news media never post her net scoring.

Lol, the US women's basketball coaching staff wanted to avoid the distraction of CC's playing time....and, in leaving her off the roster, they created a GARGANTUAN distraction that DWARFS any distraction her playing time ever could've created. I think it would have been good for Women's Hoops for her to be on the team, I think a missed opportunity. Plus it could help grow her game, the veterans could be a mentor to her. I think she would be willing to learn from those veterans, not come in thinking she's better than them all. But also, she's played a lot, and it might be good for her mentally, emotionally, physically not be on the team. I think unfortunately a lot of those ladies didn't want her there, and while unfortunate, that's just the nature of some of these women and leaders of the WNBA. Clark, if she stays healthy, will be on the next team, and I think the best player or one of the top 2-3 within a few years.

Can we not talk about the marketability? Let's talk about what the coaches tell the youth in the Team USA youth program. She won 3 gold medals for Team USA in international competition. She's led the NCAA in scoring and assists and set the all-time overall scoring record. She's 22. If she were black, or from a prestigious school, she would be on the team. Gotta wonder how Kelsey Mitchell was ever a WNBA scoring leader, oh I know, its Caitlin's fault. I thought Aliyah Boston was Rookie of the Year and an NCAA RINGholder. That's great, but where the hell is that girl at? Oh I know she's a great player, its Caitlin's fault. Yeah no. Replace ANY point guard in the WNBA with Caitlin Clark on a team that wants to win, and they improve. Her early schedule has been with the top tier teams in a heavy rotation. The girl did everything Team USA told a young player to do and you can't give her a spot? This is Team USA, not the WNBA All Stars.

I only joined WNBA League Pass for Clark. Never cared about women’s basketball before her! I will not be watching the women’s Olympic team…Never have and now without Clark will not again! Back to gymnastics only! What a marketing loss for the WNBA. who to take off?..How about Gray! Griner or even Taursai who just wants to make some kind of history with medal count! I hate to say this but I hope they lose! Take home silver or bronze! That will rub it into their jealous asses!

Griner doesn't stand for the American Flag, she's played 1 game this year due to injury and she will be on a team that represents a country that she hates and has no respect for...Taurasi is over 40 and been to 5/6 olympics...take your pic, CC should be on the team more than these two. It's not even close that Griner should NOT be on the olympic team under any circumstances. You sports ppl have lost your way on criticizing athletes that are unpatrotic! Sad!
