Better celebrities with good intentions buy a club than a nation-state. Brady bought a minority stake in a club owned by an investor group, but Reynolds and McElhenny bought Wrexham completely and outright with their own personal cash. Brady isn't going to have any say about what happens at the club.

Celebrities buy sports teams all the time in the States in my opinion it's not a bad thing definitely can help to raise a team's profile and visibility to people who otherwise might have had no interest in the sport eg Jay Z buying New Jersey Nets back in the day

Huge difference between Tom Brady and a celebrity. As much as the games are different Brady knows how things need to be run for a successful sports team. Brady is only considered a celebrity because he is a 7 time Super Bowl winner. he has a much better grasp on how an organization should be run then a celebrity.

The Wrexham celebrities are kind of doing it for the right reason, but their main goal was to make a show of their progress. But these NFL players are just using these clubs as a form of tax avoidance high interest account. They put the money into the club so it cannot be taxed and when they sell up their share, they get more back than the put in. So Lebron James put 2.5 million into the Liverpool and now his share is worth 80 million and Wrexham were purchased for just 2 million and now the club is worth 100 million to buy. That is why you have Michael B Jordan at Bournemouth, two NFL players putting money into Burnley, Brady putting money into Birmingham and it is rumoured Dwayne Johnson is rumoured to be buying Southend. It is a low risk high reward investment because even if the team does bad, they can sell up and get their money back.

@@stuartpenman6387 They had an hedge fund make an offer to the Wrexham owners for 30% stake for 30 million that they turned down. That so makes Wrexham value roughly 100 million. They are making almost 25 million revenue per year due to the sponsors and TV show contract. that is unheard of for such a low level team.
