I do like some jazz and also musicals, but most of what I listen to is CeCe Winans and hymns. We definitely have to be careful of what we allow in through the eyes and ears. Great topic.

That's a really good question! The first thing I thought about is how there are Christian content creators who are bashing gospel singers who are collaborating with secular singers, but they themselves listen to secular music. When you think about it, it is kind of hypocritical. Music does influence our thought life our emotions. I don't really listen to a lot of secular music, especially R&B, rap, or any kind that is perverted, or unholy. I do like jazz, classical, etc. I like music that calms and is relaxing. Sometimes, gospel music doesn't do that for me. So, it depends on what you're listening to. There is even some gospel music I will not listen to, because, even though it may be inspiring, the words don't align with Scriptures. For instance, if you take Donald Lawrence's song, "Back to Eden," it sounds goods. It has a good beat, but it doesn't align with Scriptures. We can't live in Eden (or paradise) because of sin. All of creation is groaning longing for redemption or restoration (Romans 8:22). Jesus described the life of the believer as being difficult: the narrow way (Matthew 7:14). Definitely a good question that got me thinking.

Thank you for taking the time to watch, and comment. I agree that not all gospel music is good either.

Good conversation! LOL! I was a TRAP girl as well-but yep I had to remove those types of songs away. However, I do listen to certain secular music for some gospel music is just as worse. I think your spirit man will give you direction. You are correct we have to be careful what plays in our ears. I was born in the 60s and the 70 and 80s music was wholesome and the words meant something...some not all. What I love about conversations is that we all have different opinions and it's okay. Take care.

I use to think those 70's and 80's songs were ok. until, I really went back and listened. They were filthy just more smooth with their words 😂

New subbie lets grow!!! So with my experience as a growing christian, I'm slowly weening off of secular music (r&b) and most times will get convicted for things i shouldn't be listening to including the christian music thats really low-key secular..overtime when God renews us we wont have the desire to listen to anything that doesn't feed our spirit anyway ...
@PaisleyJames118 күн бұрын
Yes even Christian music is low key secular! Thanks for watching

Very good question! New subscriber here to support🎉 let’s connect and grow together❤. I’ve been on both sides of this question in my early years as a believer. I didn’t listen to any secular music… As I’m matured, I realized that I could listen to secular music, (but I Listen mostly to oldies but goodies).🙏🏽

I understand the challenges you’re facing in your journey to monetization. The road may seem long and difficult, but remember that every successful creator started where you are now. Stay consistent, refine your content, and never stop learning. Your hard work and persistence will pay off. Keep pushing forward-success is within reach. However there is a way to skyrocket your channel fast ask me how?

I do listen to secular music but 99% of my playlist is Christian although I do think there is some secular music that has value. I also sing in a choir and they do sing some secular music though I haven’t found anything bad anything I do listen to I filter through a Christian world view. I believe some hymns were written from old popular tunes.
@PaisleyJames120 күн бұрын
Thank you for watching! Filtering through songs is cool. However, you must be careful of what you let into your ear gates.
