Ever since I stopped playing for 16 days, I'm getting less addicted to video games. I usually try to play with moderation. I recommend using a timer or so for maybe 30 - 60 minutes. I try not to idolize or lust for it but it seems like it's hard. God bless you guys.

Every christian feels differently about these sorts of things in the list of all games that have been created I would say the Sims isn't super bad, it just depends on how you feel about it. If you are unsure I would recommend reading the bible and praying asking God openly and honestly if this is what he wants for you.

When I wake up in the morning, I put aside a least 30 mins to an hour a day for Jesus while I drink my coffee. Then if I have the day off I’ll play games. I’ve actually prayed before playing for Jesus to remind me not to curse on accident if I’m playing online which I normally do. We all have those moments we kinda rage a little haha, but I really see not issues playing video games. As long as you don’t let it make you sin or make you fall into temptation. God bless everyone

Very true! Also moderation is definately key. These are just my thoughts but probably 1.5 to 2 hours a day of gaming max is good just because it wastes a lot of time. You should use the other time preaching the gospel online or working on your career, hobbies, spending more time with God, family, etc. God bless!

More than violence -which is much less subtle- the problems with games are the things that you start accepting slowly over time. E.g. sex within marriage and marriage itself being further from your mind than the ideas you see portrayed in game characters. One of the much more costly problems of modern games being that they constantly rely on both very subtle and in-your-face evil content to stimulate you. Things like demons and devils, hell and spells, or other representations of these things are not uncommon in even the most friendly appearing games or cartoons. Probably one of the most dangerous influences that people get from games is the idea that no one needs God. These things go for all the types of media we find in our lives. In the end, if something feels yucky, don't just dismiss the feeling because you don't want to deal with the trouble other people will give you. I'm not saying we shouldn't play games, I love playing games. I just want you guys to know what to look out for, and I hope we can all be honest with ourselves.

As a young adults (and yeah I'm not christian) I don't usually get addicted to video games cuz I know my time limit and stuff I have chores like feed the dogs in also feed the chickens after and watch some TV which I did a minute ago. I don't act so aggressive between video games cuz you know it could be boring for me at times in life so when sometimes I get boring from video games I sometimes read a Bible and talk with friends on Amino also the games that I play most and rest of the time is Transformers the game, splatterhouse, Ghost Recon Future soldiers and enemy territory Quake wars, this game here may sound like a good game to play which is Transformers the other bots stop the evil Decepticons from destroying Earth. God has been convicting me about it but for the Glory of God I haven't play for more than a month, and have no desire to play. Non-Christian but I really enjoyed your take on this and how you didn't focus solely on games like Doom and GTA or focus solely on games like Mario and Minecraft. In many games (particularly stealth games) you are actually awarded for using less violence and staying hidden, but even when you aren't gamers often have a choice about which enemies they engage and what methods they use allowing you to play in a way where violence can be all together eliminated. In Hitman for instance the only way to achieve a Silent Assassin rating is to eliminate only the target and to do so in an indirect way. I think more games should implement rewards systems for playing well through avoidance and stealth rather than you many people you killed/how many times you died

M rated games typically go very graphic in it’s killing. I’m not sure how Warzone is but I know Call of Duty is pretty graphic sometimes so just pray about that. Hey, I used to play this shooter game called Counter Strike: Global Offensive and I guess you could say it's a violent game because there is killing but when I played, it was not at all to me about the killing of someone but solely for the competitiveness of the game, the strategy, communication and just too have fun with friends. It really just depends on what the game is doing to you. Violence is definitely something God doesn’t want us to dwell on, it’s said many times in scripture so any games that involve a lot of violence are more or less against those Scriptures, it even says not to glorify warfare. Now of course the Bible never specifically says anything about games so we’ll never know for sure. My advice is to ask the man himself. Only He can tell you what He wants you to do or not do. Prayer is the best way to be sure, God bless!

Honestly the closest shooter game I’ve found that helps build good morals and work for what you get is Destiny 2. The game is literally focused on becoming stronger by gathering more light for your character. Standing up to protecting the last city from evil and darkness. The traveler grants you your abilities (kinda like the Holy Spirit) there is no blood just damage numbers and explosions, unless you play crucible you aren’t fighting other people, you are fighting alien races. Zero bad language that I’ve heard since playing for the last six years. Easily the most moral first person shooter. It only becomes toxic if you play with toxic people or devote more of your heart to the Game than Jesus.

I’ve played both of them! I like how they did the action and how they summed down on the violence. And yeah it’s pretty ironic how the the light fights the dark 😂. Personally I’m not a fan of the Taken and Hive though. There’s a weirdly dark presence when I fought them. They’re entirely based on dark magic and souls that have been taken and even though you are fighting them I don’t feel ok playing that

@@newdirection4186 I’ve always just viewed the light fighting the darkness of any sort whether it’s the hive or taken or fallen, the light overcomes them all and I do not play it as much as I have a craving to I fight the urge and limit my play time to focus more on God and my family. I used to stream daily sometimes for four hours at a time and I sold everything because I realized what it was doing to me and my family and now I only play about an hour and a half to two hours per night and usually either with my wife or with friends of both of ours so it has gotten much better

An Open World Car Racing Game like one of the Forza Horizon Titles (2 3 4 or the Forthcoming 5..just *avoid* the "Pronouns" Stuff in 5 or just set them to a Biblically Approved one such as He/Him or She/Her !) would be better for just Driving around in, being Rated PEGI 3/ESRB E there is very little Objectional Content, just avoid some of the Music as the Lyrics can be more than a bit Dodgy on some of them, Stick to the Classical (FH4 contains a Piece of actual Worship Music, Handel's "Zadok the Priest" on its Classical List! :) the Fictional Character who hosts the Channel, Don Thompson, also drops a few Hints here and there In His Dialogue that Suggest the Character is a Christian as well :) ) or the Drum and Bass (No Lyrics in most of them, and the few there are clean :) ) Stations or turn the Music off Completely, and most of the Cars are Real, Licenced, Models as well :) Hope that Helps :) Peace :)

The Fallout Series has always been my preference for gaming and I feel they represent a lot of interesting topics, shows you right and wrong how humans function and think about serious issues, actually I learned my favorite bible verse from Fallout 3 Revelation 21:6 which was awesome for me because I learned it when I was around 8 years old I'm 20 now. It’s definitely not up to me, it’s entirely your call. But GTA in my opinion is definitely the worst game out there for Christians. It definitely breaks a lot of Ten Commandments 😂. Giving control of your games to God (everything for that matter) is what’s best, and if you feel like he’s telling you to give it up, then that’s what you gotta do.

I think for me it was at one point I wanted to die and kill myself because my parents took away my computer because that was all I found in life I enjoyed, then later I played games again and I didn't enjoy them like they were stupid. Continuing to play games I found it a waste of my life and time, that I was no longer living my life at all, the computer was my life. It hurt my school grades, which aren't important, but when I was away from video games I would try to do something else so I ended up picking up my bible and praying and had great peace and love in my mind for others that I haven't ever felt the same way since. Keep reading and praying, seek God with all your heart. Even youtube is a huge distraction and I watched videos all day for about a month.

Hey thank you guys for this video. Ive always questioned wether violent video games are a sin. Ive always enjoyed playing assassins creed, call of duty, battlefield etc. This helped alot. But im still confused because i really just like playing those games because theyre so competetive and fast paced, and thats what i really like about those games. My motive isnt, "man. I totally understand what you mean. There’s something about violent videos games that we just find fun. But it’s safe to say that God is not in violent games. There is nothing biblical about them and in fact they embrace a lot of dark themes that the Bible speaks against like murder, profanity, alcohol, and sexual themes. Unfortunately a lot of the games you mentioned are very much involved in that stuff but everyone deals with things differently. Just take it to God and he’ll take care of ya mate!

i like to play world of warcraft and i wish to play again ; but somehow i want and i dont want because it is written : “you shall not kill.” and i am not 100% sure if that is going against The Commandament or not ; what is your oppinion ?

Im an 11 year old and i feel like i wont be making it to heaven, so im trying to avoid sin. And one thing that has stumped me is video games. There are many things in video games that can be dishonoring to god, so it is a sin to play something like minecraft since it does have have a hell-ish dimension.

Hey Harold! Personally Minecraft is one of my favorite games to play, I do however avoid enchantments and potions because that’s the nice part of that game that’s you can do whatever you want. I personally don’t see any problem with the Nether even though it does kind of resemble hell in a way. I believe Minecraft is a great way to be creative and have a great time with friends! I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s a ticket to Hell though😂 I believe everyone shouldn’t hold any idols and video games can definitely one. Thank you for the response, also one more thing i personally dont really see much wrong with the enchantments or potions. And since im assuming your pointing out the game aspect to sorcery i just wanna say that sorcery is using evil spirits to do what you need, so i personally dont see that here in minecraft and i dont know but i just see everything in minecraft as a more cartoonish thing. And i duobt the game developers were going for an aspect of straight up sorcery and or evil spirits so idk but any way' you have a great day. And thanks for keeping me in the right direction.

I haven’t really played a lot of Pubg, but it is a shooter. It’s not terribly violent but it still kinda is so that’s up to you. Just pray to God and ask Him how this is effecting you. I think it’s a safe bet that we don’t benefit from video games whatsoever so it’s good make sure that what you’re playing isn’t affecting your relationship with Christ.

I’ve never played roblox before but I hear it’s a pretty fun game! I have heard things about the community that makes it seem pretty toxic though so you might have to watch out for that. And as far as the games go I suggest praying and asking God what He approves of. Give Him full control and you’ll know what’s right or wrong 👌🏻

Great question! So it does say in the Bible, “Thou shalt not kill.” But the fact is you aren’t killing anyone, so it doesn’t go against the Bible in that regard. It also says to watch what we let into our heart and I think we can all agree that watching someone get brutally murdered in front of us is kinda bad. So I don’t personally think it’s bad when it comes to games like Fortnite and such. You aren’t letting to much graphic in your mind

All good! Sports games are pretty fun to play, especially with friends. One thing that I’ve caught myself doing is playing to much for sure. Not only is it unhealthy physically and mentally, but it’s also unhealthy spiritually. And I’m not sure about the tattoo thing but the nice thing about prayer is you can ask anytime! If you feel like there’s something wrong about it then it’s best to do without it. How this helped!

Minecraft is overall a great game in my opinion! It’s super fun, relaxing, and a great way to pass the time. The nice thing is if anything bothers you it’s easily avoidable. Even fighting with your brother! God knows best though so ask Him!

There’s nothing in the Bible that deals specifically with video games. One of the Ten Commandments is Thou shalt not Kill, and as we know there is a lot of killing in the Bible so what God means by that is not to kill aimlessly. Video games are pretty aimless in general but you also aren’t killing anything at all. Video games really have no spiritual value. So you should never compromise what you believe for something that isn’t real and some video games help harbor violence in our hearts. It sounds like pretty innocent fun with your brother but if you feel like something is off then it’s best to do without. You should never compromise what you believe in. Prayer is the best way to be sure because all of this is my own opinion! God bless!

Strategy games are super fun. God isn’t a buzz kill by any means and let’s us have fun but it’s very important for us not to hold anything from God. So I suggest surrendering it all to Him and asking if it’s something you should keep or remove. You’ll know what to do 👌🏻

Pubg isn’t so gory like other violent games . I like watching the pro leagues and I like to play it for strategy , and communicating and surviving and being accurate when shooting .. I’ve never played csgo but I’d say any games that involve combat, also involve caution. You may not actually be killing people but you’re watching if play out in your mind which I’d say is still not exactly good. My advice is to pray and ask God what He thinks about it. Good stuff It’sap! Unfortunately video games such as Cod, Assassins Creed, Hitman, GTA, and countless others are entirely focus on killing and they make it fun which you definitely have to be careful with, not to say all video games are bad but it does say in the Bible not to glorify Warfare. And I agree nearly anything can be addicting but we definitely have to be careful, especially when it comes to the stuff you listed. Nothing should come before God, but God is so good to give us so many enjoyments in this life! God Bless!

I'm Christian but stop trying to claim that Christianity was pure, righteous. We all know that to be a false truth. Christianity is riddled in controversy and blood. Jesus never said you had to be the perfect person, he only said you had to know who your true God was and that you were made in his image. Monks in the dark ages would often pray to God during the Viking Invasion but prayer is not always the answer. Soldiers of Christendom were formed to deal with situations like that, where violence must be met with violence. Do I agree? No, but history has taught that when people lay down and bend the knee often times they are walked on until they learn to rise up and rebel.

You’re right He never said we would be perfect, He says the opposite actually😂. But we do need to strive to better ourselves and that’s what Christianity is all about. Unfortunately it has gotten changed because like you said people aren’t perfect. As far as praying goes, we believe that praying is always the answer no matter what because God controls it all and praying is giving him control. Now does that mean that the solution is gonna be all hugs and kisses? Nope, the Bible is full of stories where violence was. So I’m not saying that violence is bad because sometimes it is necessary but God says not to encourage it and that’s what violent video games do. Video games are for leisure and are unnecessary so any violence you practice is unnecessary. God definitely encouraged his people and still is encouraging them not to lay down or bend the knee to anyone but Him. In fact He encourages us to stand and fight off the evil.

Hey im back with another comment and i was thinking about violent video games. I can agree that they would be bad if its like call of duty where theres no good morals and you litterally just kill eachother, or GTA V where you steal, rob, kill cops/pedestrians. But what do you think about games that you fight for justice and liberty like assassins creed or you save people but theres still violence like in spiderman or Batman arkham knight. I love video games and its just so hard to find a good, non violent video game. And i dont feel like my heart changes because of these video games. The only time it does is if the game is very violent or gruesome. But yet i dont want to be sinning without even knowing it. It would just be such a shame to let them go.

And even though it might be for a good cause in the game, it’s not a real cause. Which means you aren’t really doing it for a good cause, but you’re just killing for fun (virtually). But I’m not God eh? I’ve played games with killing, like Fortnite, Apex Legends, ect. So I get it, it’s tough. The best way to know if you’re sinning or figure out if something is wrong is by simply asking God. He won’t lead you astray 👌🏻

No problem at all! Horizon Zero Dawn is one of my personal favorites! It’s a pretty clean game and all but there is some profanity and you do fight humans too. Definitely one that you should give to God and ask Him for any checks in your heart. I’ve personally never had any problems with that game but that doesn’t mean everyone won’t. I’ve had plenty of problems with games other Christians have had none so it’s totally up to God. Spider-Man is probably one of my favorites when it comes to games!
