I think it's very important to consider. I'm in my 30s, a Christian, a husband and a dad. The rest of my friends still game 24/7. They don't understand that my priorities changed or why I can't just drop everything and play with them. My Family, God and my responsibilities come first. What little free time I do get I either game or watch a show or do other activities. It's very difficult now as most games and shows are extremely sexual, violent and profane. A little too much and it can easily lead toward sin, and distract you from reality and your relationship with God. If you don't want to be a deadbeat dad, still work, help around the house, help with your children, study God's Word, pray, and attend church, you should absolutely guard your heart and be aware of what and how much you're consuming.

A lot of games critizes reality. GTA IV for example, it shows there's no true good ending on a criminal life, you will always lose. Bully taught me to protect the weaker ones Silent Hill taught me to fight against your own monsters without fear Resident Evil taught me that everyone can be a hero with enough motivation. Red Dead Redemption taught me that being a honorable person is very important to be a man. Games before were art, today they are all sexualized crap with excessive LGBT things.

Yup. Mid 30s christian, father, husband, provider, and, a bit further down the list, gamer. Games can be wonderful pieces of art with breathtaking visuals, music, and storytelling....and some can be just garbage. I'm in some amazing Christian gamer communities and while there are many fair points to this video this topic isn't really any different than say, movies, and probably needs to be viewed in a bit more detail than simply painting it with such a broad brush.

Its very easy to break down the logic like this. If you arent either reading the Bible or preaching on the street to people? Waste of time. Any hobby or anything can be compared in such a way. Literally everything can be compared to show how when people focus on specific hobbies, they're attempting to cast the first stone, and how ridiculous it is. Then again, wretched hasnt been known for the absolute top tier christian content with the calvinist views.

That’s my take. Some may call me obsessed with productivity but if we don’t use our borrowed time to further the gospel then it’s a complete waste of time. We treat our free time and our procrastination as if God owes us more time to get stuff done later. It’s absurd. The devil’s job is easy when all he has to do is distract and entertain us.
@Astroqualia2 ай бұрын
@Saphireaway the gospel is essentially global at this point. We are called to love God and our neighbor as scripture calls that the main part of God's will that is desired. The gospel is almost maxed out in the world, what i see is heresies everywhere. Almost 1/4 of the world claims to be christian, yet look at the state of the world. Thats the paramount objective to combat. To dismantle propaganda.

biblical words on rest also today: 2Mo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 2Mo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 2Mo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 2Mo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

I think ppl should be able to enjoy their lives as long as it's not sinful. there's tons of very good games that increase your intelligence.. then there are war and shooting games which lower your attention span... the first person shooting fast paced war games are what is the problem.. i'm a game developer in training right now too. look at a game called Baba is You.. a very good puzzle game for anyone of all ages, this type of game is great for kids with developing brains. it makes you smarter

But it is still worldly Rom 12:2: "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Yes, there are also games that you can play. But that's maybe 5%

@@maranathasam Gaming before literally was ART, today it's all destroyed. Where's the masculine men in games? Where are the strength to protect the weaker ones? Gaming got destroyed by the elites, old games are way better.

Back then they were working for themselves, mainly keeping their homes and businesses together. Their families also were right there. They didn't spend 12 hours a day away from home slaving away for some corporate goons like we have to do today. It was fulfilling work. I wake up at 6, my commute starts at 10. So from the hours of 10am to 8 pm precious hours or my life are flushed down the toilet for the corporations that enslave this country. So I'm sure God will be ok with me going to be a hero in a video game or two in ny downtime.

The problem begins as children and boys grow up playing and needing that thought processing that writes their approaches and mindsets Men and women and children aren't beyond "steal, kill and destroy" which is the program behind much of video gaming. But they know that but don't care--that's the main issue --the care is stolen, the attention, the time--stolen so to speak. Anyhow nothing new here
