@@b93rees41 I'm not DW, but I can tell you, how I learned a lot within a year: You need a Bible, a Quran in a language you can understand (be aware that it's a Hafs one and not an Ahmadiyya or Warsh), and a booklet to take notes. The first thing I took notes on was DW's video on what Quran says about the Bible. Often they start by some Bible verses, by which they are attacking the Bible. My strategy is answering by Surah 3:3, 18:27, 10:94. "You are disrespectful against the Bible? That's against Quran!" If they still try to contradict, watch Brother Rachid's video on the same topic. It makes no sense answering every attack or "question" in itself, they won't read your answer. Second point: They love attacking the Trinity. Usually by things like why Jesus was praying. So you can prepare an answer for that. Then there are saying things about how wonderful Islam or Quran is, that islam is peaceful, that quran stayed the same letter by letter, that islam is pro women... Reserve a page or two on every of these claims and take notes whenever you find something, a verse in Quran or in a hadith. Search the videos of DW (the shorter ones, not the huge livestreams), DCCI Hatun Tash, Reasoned Answers and Your Brother in Christ. Search for something that seems interesting and take notes, esp. every verse of Quran and every Hadith. If you want to know about the life of Muhammad, go to Nabi Asli.

Be cautious yet. First of all: Don't tell any muslim that he's going to visit a church. It would endanger his life. Then: You seem to be female. It is allowed to lie to your girl. A man talking with a woman will want to marry her and tell her everything she might want to hear, which is explicitly allowed and even recommended in Islam. And if he is grown up, exspect him to be married but not telling you about it. And then: Don't meet him alone. If he doesn't like it, you know his intentions are sinister. No muslim girl would accept to be seen near to him without her brother or somebody else being around. Having somebody with you might be awkward with you, but to him it's a signal that you are a respectable woman, not a b... Muslim marriage documents, in their arabic version will include that by marrying him you are accepting Islam. If you think it's only a normal friendship, just being buddies - I once had such a friendship with an iranian. When his brother learnt about that, things became awkward. Things ended up with my friend disappearing and me just escaping from being disappeared because I was not alone and did not fall for his tricks. I am convinced that my friend was killed by his brother - but nobody would ask why some random refugee disappeared. Islam is a very dangerous religion and without having a friend with you, even being in public, you might sooner or later get in trouble either by your friend or if he's ok, by another muslim knowing him. Talking with a muslim woman is less dangerous as talking from woman to woman is ok for them. Nevertheless, be aware. Pray for him, never meet him alone, and don't get married without having translated the documents by an arab christian.

HEAR O ISRAEL, JESUS IS THE MESSIAH ! Nowhere the Qur'an claims to be about religion except when arguing with the pagans, polytheists and Idol worshippers from the First of the Ten Commandments perspective. Other than that, Islam has always claimed to be a Christian Apostolic Tradition in line with the Council of Jerusalem in Acts 15:1-32...in rejection of the Council of Nicaea and Constantinople with their Trinitarian tone. It was not until the 9th century that some hadith collectors such as Al-Bukhari, Al Muslim, etc turned it into a separate and full blown religion by severing it from Christianity. By the way Christianity is the belief that Jesus is the Christ which is Greek for HaMashiak(Messiah) its Hebraic counterpart. The Messiah(Christ) foretold by Moses as it is written: "I will send them the Messiah, the Prophet like you Moses, Him they must listen..." Deut. 18:15-19; John 4:25-26; Acts 3:17-24; Acts 17:1-3; Acts 7:1-30, etc... Islam therefore is more like a political philosophy than a religion making the Sovereign-Prince on earth into the shadow of the Messiah sitting in Heaven. True, Man doesn't live on bread alone but nowhere it is said that man lives on daily prayers only... JESUS IS MUHAMMAD, THE PRAISES MESSIAH, AND MUHAMMAD IS ABU AL-QUASIM ! DOES RELIGION MAKE PEOPLE STUPID?

Because of David Wood and Nabeel Qureshi I now debate Muslims who are an the other side of the globe. David is an absolute pioneer in this field. I have an upcoming debate with a Muslim in Malaysia on the topic of sin and I am quite prepared for this debate because of David, Nabeel, Apostate Prophet, Adam Elmasri, Sam Shamoun, and Frank Turek to name a few. My warning to Christians who are going to get into the "ring" and debate Muslims is to be careful and make sure you are ready. A famous boxer once said something to the effect that even a nobody can get into the ring and get a lucky shot in. Muslim dawahgandists are well versed in their approach and even though we as Christians have the truth that does not mean Muslims cannot land a "lucky shot" and catch us off guard. Study the main objections Muslims use to argue against Christianity and be solid in what you believe by studying seriously for an appropriate amount of time. The good news is when you are caught off guard you will be forced to go back to the "gym" and be ready for the next brawl. But the real good news is that as you study Islam you will come to see how depraved and vile Islamic theology is and rejoice for the grace and salvation we have in Christ. Thank you David for the work you do. As I have mentioned so many times my love for Nabeel cannot be measured. He is one of the main reasons I want to see Muslims come to saving faith in Christ and turn from the disgusting religion of Islam. Do you keep in touch with his family? When you bring up issues with Islam and/or the Quran, Muslims will usually ask you if you've read the Quran. But when you say that you have, then they will ask if you know Arabic! If you say that you do (in the rare case) then they will ask you if you're an Islamic expert or scholar. But when you say that you're not and quote their own scholars, then they will either say that the translations are wring (which were done by Muslim scholars...) or that it's just the "opinions of men". So, in the end no one can understand Islam however, you can be assured that the Muslim talking to you always has the correct understanding :)

I sat down and read the Quran. But I didn't study it. Reading the Quran is good, but like with any book, you need reading comprehension. Take notes as you read, to help you recall key points or observations. I didn't take notes the first time. If I did, I would have likely made more observations about Islam and been better prepared to talk with my Muslim coworkers. My suggestion for most Christians is to first know why you believe what you believe. The divinity of Christ is well established throughout the Bible, as is his humanity. You should also know the doctrine of the Trinity and common objections. This knowledge will prepare you for encounters with more than Muslims. We also have JWs, Mormons, modalists, and other errors to deal with. Then become acquainted with apologetics. David Woods content on KZbin is an excellent resource to better understand Islam and its many errors. After you have a good grasp on Christian vs Islam apologetics, then read the Quran.

Remember also the valuable information we got from Muhammad Hijab's poll: that the #1 reason most Muslims have doubts about Islam is the moral character of Muhammad (their false prophet). Take some notes on your computer about this, such as regarding Aisha (Sahih Muslim Book 008, No 3309), Zainab, wife-beating (Surah 4:34), divorce instructions for those who have not reached puberty (Surah 65:4), etc. Remember also that if someone insists the English translation with translator-added parentheticals is correct, that you can copy the Arabic directly from a Qur'an website and put it into translation software or a translation website. Surah 4:34 does not have the words 'lightly' or 'with a toothbrush', even if English translators are too embarrassed about their prophet to not add those words where Muhammad didn't say them.

I honestly, don't think it is necessary for Christians to study the Quran on an individual level, but like Brother Rachid, I would think you would need to be prepared by anticipating what they have to say, however for me, I do study the Quran to see the inner works of the great prophet's mind.

@@davidradaku-ho4yi , that is Sousabird's OPINION, which is shared by MILLIONS. Why argue with a personal opinion? I HAVE read the Qur'an, more than once. The experience was horrible, like wading through thigh-deep sewage. Stone-kisser, I have been STUDYING Islam since 1980 - probably before you were born. "Study" means I have read the Qur'an (with numerous tafsir explanations), along with a few THOUSAND ahadith, and the sira of Ibn Hisham. Now I am perusing the shariah manuals. All of this puts me light-years ahead of the typical Muslim, who hasn't even read the Qur'an in a language he/she understands. It is my extensive study of the Islamic sources that convinced me that this religion is half-baked, fabricated CRAP from beginning to end. The Qur'an is a CESSPOOL of errors, evils, contradictions, absurdities, plagiarized materials, and general incoherence. Whoever wrote that asinine little book was simply less intelligent than toothpaste. If you claim that God wrote it, you are calling God an idiot. That's blasphemy.

While I agree it is beneficial to know the teachings of other religions as preparation for evangelism opportunities (I am reading the Book of Mormon myself right now; yes, it is agonizing), I think all that's really needed to get started is sound knowledge of what the Bible teaches, and the ability to ask questions and really listen to the answers. When this pair of young Mormons came to my door, I was able to discuss and refute their beliefs by reading Bible passages in context with the knowledge and experience of years of study. I was able to challenge their beliefs using other portions of the Bible such as the thief on the cross receiving salvation despite having no works or Mormon baptism. I was able to apply my knowledge that there is no Biblical principle that appears only once in the whole of scripture, challenging them to find more scripture to support the Mormon interpretations of cherry-picked verses. I like to think the Bereans were not just strengthened against false teachings, but were also well equipped to evangelize.

I had to take the time to study my faith growing up, and as I grew up I actually didn’t like some of the stuff I was reading . I found myself questioning the Violence in the Quran and also the logica dilemmas / contradictions … For example : how can the Torah and Bible be corrupted if those books were revealed by God ..!!but the Quran says that Allahs word CAN NEVER be changed … See the contradiction ? Also to add just to this one particular topic of discussion.. apparently also Allah tells the Jews and Christians to judge according to the Book revealed to them … So wait… an all knowing all fair God wants Jews and Christian’s to judge by a book that got corrupted ..

Congratulations on leaving the cult. Keep safe. The actual history of islam is nothing like the 'standard islamic narrative'. Ever wondered why there is no archaeological evidence for mecca? There was no city of mecca in the 7th century or in any earlier century. No muhammed. No 7th century quran. No 7th century hadiths. No 7th century sira. All of this story was fabricated by later arab rulers who lived far north of the arabian peninsula.

I have read the Quran four times, the fourth time I read it in chronological order. I feel like that's really the first time I read it. It was much easier because there was a little bit of a story to it. You understood why there was repetition when it was there, because Muhammad got a new stump speech and he's giving it a few times around town. But each one is allegedly a new revelation, because like Joseph Smith he can't repeat himself exactly. I would say that anyone who is going to take up Islamic polemics or apologetics from Islamic polemics an avocation or area of interest, I would recommend they read the Quran at least once. You can then say it's boring and not eloquent. I would say that if you're going to read the Quran you should read it in chronological order, also because you can see the evolution of Muhammad's theology, and his personality from street preacher to warlord/cultleader, and you know what abrogates what.

David, I sure hope you read this comment; Can you address the topic of penal substitution and how the muslims use that theory to try and debunk all Christians regardless of their traditions, doctrines and Faith. In all fairness, it could be presumed that many muslims don't know about the different "denominations" as such at least nothing further than the names of the churches. I guess they forget their own different groups and interpretations within their cult. But yeah, in the spirit of this conversation, it would be a GOoD thing to ahine some light on how penal substitution is used by them in their efforts, whilst they ignore any and all of the teachings that existed since Jesus's time on Earth and not just the last 100, 200, 300, 500 and possibly 600 years. Stay safe, God bless.
