100 % Both Sid and Ovi saved the league after a diasterous lockout. Both OVI and SID grew the game more in the time of their careers more then any other time in any other era. Look what the league was worth pre 2005 and look what its worth now. All on the watch of Sid and Ovi. 100 % they should be automatic no waiting period into the hall of fame.

when you see the names on the list of players who got the 3-year waiting period waved, then Sid & OV have a very good case for getting in early as well. These 2 carried the league for 2 decades and were the absolute best of their generation.

I agree with ODog, but I can also see the other side…. If the NFL didn’t waive their waiting period for Brady, then NOBODY needs to get in early. The one way that it would make sense to me, is to put Sid and Ovie in on the same year, so if one of them plays a season or two more than the other then they would still go in at the same time…. Also if Jagr finally retires he should get his three years waived, since he’s been out of the league for over a decade
