There is always a temptation to cash in when something has gone up in value. For me, if you aren’t in the business of selling that thing, and aren’t struggling to put food on the table, the best thing is wearing what everybody else wants while the value is high and other people are paying out the nose to look like you. Everybody else trying to cash in is missing out on the experience and the reason they bought the thing in the first place.

I sold my Submariner. There's far more interesting dive watches on the market. With all the fakes and homages $ 85 for an Invicta clone. You care way too much what other people think. 99% of people could care less what you are wearing. Go volunteer at soup kitchen. Getting a very over priced watch will not make you a better human being. Donate some money to end childhood cancer. My only child got a brain tumor at 5 years old. Possessions are just stuff. Kind people matter when you're on your death bed.

Normally if you sell Rolex, you buy another Rolex 😁 So, technically you're on the same train and you don't loose a lot, but have new emotions/experience) So I wouldn't be extra worried about that potential gain that your lost when you have sold your Rolex back then)) What do you think, Mark?

I have a 2022 blue stick dial 126300 non jubilee. Dealers are selling it for $12K and I paid out the doors $8550. So his numbers are reasonable. But I hell no would not pay 15K out the door for a two tone DJ.

IMHO gold rolo are not good options as investment: to make sure not to loose you must keep it 5 years. But gold watches âges much much more in term of design appeal. What would be the trend in 5/10 years for gold or 2 tones? I don t know... while for Best Steel sport rolex (not OP for instance) those are tool/sport watches: they are famous and it is acceptable that they âge, get patina because they are supposed to be challenged on field... and value systematically increases. In conclusion with a Steel sport you are sure not to loose money, with gold or 2 tones it s gambling. Just look at the datejust 2 tones 36mm of the 80s value compare to à sub of the 80s 😉

If he wants out of it then he should sell if he still enjoys it then keep it .The price he is being offered is fair on this . The common delusional view that his watch is worth more than it actually is .it’s a dj so least in demand of the pack .If people realistically want to know what they can reasonably will be offered on a Rolex , generally around two to three grand under what the average price they are being listed for on reseller sites

Sounds like this is not his first watch flipping rodeo ,he is torn between flipping it now or wait 6months this fellow is what is wrong with Rolex in the first place , someone who makes a point of saying I don't need the money but ...dude doesn't deserve that watch, that is the way it goes ones that don't deserve have them falling out of their ass ,ones that do could not get one for love or money
