In Canada. Bought a BB GMT. They’re 6k here. No one I know is paying 6k for a watch. Rolex isn’t even on the table nvm a Tudor. A submariner is over 15k from the AD.

None of this is terrible advice. I recently was able (by happenstance) to score a new Tudor black bay bronze for a used price. I’ll say, Tudor is a great quality watch when at least comparing to tag and breitling.

What a pointless video

I was traveling when a screw closest to the flip-lock on my Submariner somehow worked itself partially open just enough that it blocked the flip-lock from unlatching all the way so I could take off the watch. The watch was literally “locked” on my wrist until I could find an eye-glass place in town and have the sales associate lend me an eyeglass screwdriver to screw it back in, so that I could take the damn watch off. I think GS and Patek know what they’re doing when they opted for friction pins; never had one come loose.

A much better idea would be to REMOVE YOURSELF. The scratch is far less objectionable to listening to your PSYCHO BABBLING. SHUT THENHELL UP.

Jokes on them. I wanted a Tudor GMT....So I got one. I don't care about exclusivity or coolness. I'm very lucky in that everything I wear is cool by default and if it was uncool before, it becomes cool when I start wearing it. It's a blessing, I know. Makes things so simple for me. ;-)

Once, 15-20 years ago, I was in a carryout around Sugarloaf key after a day of Tarpon fishing and a guy (fellow angler, I suspect) asked me if I was wearing a Royal Oak Offshore (I was). I used to own a Hublot with a black rubber strap in rose gold case and dark emerald green dial-very simple watch but I did get several favorable comments about that watch. I no longer own it and do wish it was in my collection as I haven’t seen another watch quite like it. No one else has ever commented on a watch I was wearing whether Rolex, Patek, Ulysses Nardin, Breitling, Apple or Seiko etc. I, on the other hand, definitely notice what people around me are wearing but have never commented on anyone’s watch. I think I am afraid that it will look like I am fishing for a compliment on the watch I am wearing. My enjoyment of watches is just having that level of craftsmanship that is both functional and beautiful on my wrist.

My $20 Timex works better because you can hear each second tick from across the room. If time mattered, price shouldn’t. I think it would be better to answer why so many people drop $5k and up on a watch to tell the same time as a $20 quartz and that quartz watch holds better time than any mechanical. I own a couple watches and I use them to tell time, I don’t stare at them or am I mesmerized by them. They’re nice, but they serve a function, not to impress others or let others know how much money I have or don’t have. I equate expensive watches and watch collectors to chicks who buy expensive shoes. Its all materialistic and an unhealthy obsession with material goods. Shoes are for walking, watches are for telling time, and comparing what you have to what others have steals the joy of what you have.
