Should Gojo Return? Lets Talk About It | JJK 260 Discussion

Honestly Gojo's supposed conclusion has some *underwhelming* aspects for me... I think if he had a stronger conclusion more people could make peace with his death (like Choso more recently), but there some aspects where it feels like it needed more to it. Gojo died selfishly according to Nanami's words as a jujutsu pervert. Mentioning the students wasn't even much a part of his conclusion in ch 236 as it was mainly focused on Sukuna and teaching him love (when his character was more connected to the students prior). There was never Gojo defining who he was for himself: "Are you the strongest because you're Satoru Gojo or are you Satoru Gojo because you're the strongest?" He was forcibly removed his title of strongest, but never defined what he is for himself. I feel like there's room to add more to his conclusion in some way. I could potentially see Gojo in a Toji situation where he comes back temporarily in some form (maybe also at a cost of less power) to better round out his character arc. Toji died to Gojo because of his ego to defeat him. Then he had a better had a conclusion with facing Megumi after coming back temporarily and then he died to protect Megumi. Gojo also wore the Toji outfit with his death to Sukuna. Gojo still has death of his ego and could have journey of enlightenment full circle as to fit his Buddha character motif. Gojo if he did come back I imagine would only be a supporting role (maybe aid with the merger as the six eyes user tied to Tengen by fate). Yuji still mainly to deal with Sukuna as he only as the power to save Megumi with his soul abilities. Gojo still died as the strongest, but briefly back as Satoru Gojo. Comes back unselfishly to contrast his death and when he's done he completely dies after doing a last unselfish act. There's still the consequences of him dying apply in the end, so that isn't fully taken away and ch 236 wasn't his definitive end, but merely a crucial transition point needed to reach his full enlightenment before complete death. That's just my perspective on it.

i think the direction its going is gojo haunting sukuna while he’s losing i can see it not getting mentioned and you see gojo a few more times during the fight as it goes on maybe leading to ghost gojo and sukuna having a conversation that might lead to a heian era flashback probably for the best since everyones getting so tired from the fight a heian flashback can just give it space to take everything in and prepare for when it cuts back to the present with sukuna body swapping with uraume or starting the merger or whatever else

nah for me what would be better is that Gojo coming back....Sukuna summoning he merger and end up killing Sukuna and before he dies we get a heian era flash black where we get Sukunas backstory, Kenjaku and tengens origin and after the flashback is over we get Gojo and his students vs The merger...imagine how hype it will be if we get the best new gen trio Gojo yuta nad Yuji vs the merger which might be even more stronger than Sukuna....

Yeah, I can see this being a misdirect. Sukuna is currently trying to activate Domain Expansion. Perhaps this is just a callback to when he and Gojo were playing chicken with RCT and restoring their techniques while frying their brains. Perhaps Sukunas technique is finally fried, and "the ghost" is Sukuna realizing that gojo played the long game, in order to screw him over horribly. Maybe Gojo knew all along he would lose the battle, but win the war, and thus claim final victory over Sukuna. Id really like that.

the crazy part is how much denial the fanbase was in, that Gojo is coming back and now its been so long we've accepted his death, that ppl are like 'he should stay dead'. personally my stance was always that Gojo passing the torch is what makes narrative sense for Gojo but that no one is even close to Sukuna's power level that anything Gege pulls for the win against Sukuna is going to be an ass pull. which yuta saying 'we cheated' basically confirms. so idk, we'll see.

i mean a explanation could be ui ui ported him quick enough to shoko and after yuta killed kenjussy todo swapped him back to where they were and shoko+yuta use their RCT on top of gojo having a RCT refreshment right before getting cut in half, so if them 2 could get gojo in stable condition he should be able to heal logically. Only reason i can see this happening is because yuki didn't die instantly after she got cutt in half. And i mean there's people irl who have survived being cut in half so its not impossible imo

Sukuna power scaling wise is very weird, because all sorcerers now have shown some relativity to him making him technically the weakest he's ever been. Gojo only disabled his domain for a while, with Kashimo the expected difference to Sukunas favor was shown. Against Yuji and Higuruma he didn't get hurt but he still got punched and catched in a domain before Yuta came in to do the first real lasting damage that you can warrant as the culprit that started nerfing him again. We got comments the sorceres cheated and still aren't sure what they did that upscaled them. Yuji got soul swapped to learn key tools like simple domain and RCT, but the thing that made Sukuna confused was their durability, that's unanswered. We would also need some explanation for speed. Originally Sukuna and Gojo are well understood to be far past Kenjaku who in turn is a little past disaster curses who in turn are generally past sorcerers, Yuji didn't overpower Mahito exactly and he didn't get stronger afterwards either, so what excuses does Sukuna have? If Gojo came in for real he should stomp him np

gojo being brought back in a way where he can genuinely connect and fight alongside his students equally would be great. perhaps gojo nerfing himself through loss of one of his six eyes would bring him down to his students’ level, so that he no longer needs to be burdened by his title of the strongest. or maybe giving up his limitless barrier permanently in a binding vow would work, as the thematic significance with that aspect of the limitless technique is that it symbolizes his total isolation from everyone else, and losing it would allow him to truly connect with people, no longer being alone. if done in a way similar to that, i think it could add to gojos character arc rather than destroy what 236 gave us.

I think Gojo coming back would be far more beneficial for his character. In the entire series, we've seen a fake version of him, always hiding his true self to impress others. Seeing the true Gojo without him following others or pretending to be the smug, confident man who annoys others for attention, would be a far better way of showing Gojo’s growth. He also could just fight Tengen, going against the being that is linked with the six eyes, the one that started it all. If Gojo truly will be going off of the lore that inspired him he could make a binding vow to sacrifice everything, and to truly be enlightened. Losing a eye, limitless, and possibly more in exchange for far more. Gojo might even evolve his six eye into something far superior.

I think it may be a hallucination bc Sukuna told Gojo he would either 1) Die or 2) not have the precision to combat Sukuna in a DE clash. Maybe Sukuna thought he was good for another DE but it triggered his death. I do not want Gojo to come back but I do think it would be cool if the six eyes or limitless technique still play a part in the story. The six eyes are such a staple to the JJK universe and I would love to see that part of Gojo return again. Gojo himself though, I think had a very good ending for his character and I see no reason for him to come back. I think it could be Gojo body but not Gojo soul, maybe Ui Ui used his ability to put someone in Gojo body, but I think Gojo soul already passed on.

I believe gojo being alive would be more negative than good cause Yuji himself has always fought an uphill battle to be seen as the protagonist of the series for a multitude of factors and gojo is one of those factors. Even in the fight against sukuna he’s been diverting his attention and praise to everyone but Yuji despite him doing the most against sukuna and after the barrage of black flashes it feels like JUST NOW that sukuna began to acknowledge Yuji. Gojo being back would immediately negate all of that, however I can see this being gojo’s spirit mocking sukuna, how sukuna needed binding vow upon binding vow to make it as far as he did, & how this entire time sukuna “MAIN DISH” wasn’t Yuuta, or maki, or higaruma but Yuji instead. Gojo is a troll and him coming back as a spirit to mock sukuna would be in character and serve as much deserved Yuji hype as the strongest of today gives his blessings to sukuna and to the audience that Yuji itadori was the real threat all along. Also gojo did die happy, he died fulfilled in himself that he finally got to enjoy a battle to his fullest, despite what gojo said legit he fully won that battle, he brought the king to his knees with no need of a binding vow and no real prior knowledge of sukuna’s abilities, He raised a generation of sorcerers that came together to stop sukuna, and despite not being able to show sukuna what “love is” that’s not eating away at gojo cause he know that Yuji will be the one to show it to sukuna. How the love of your comrades can make a cog like Yuji, someone who compared to sukuna isn’t all that powerful, be an immovable stone, how it was others care & love for Yuji and others that let them sacrifice their lives without fear. Higaruma, Yuuta, maki, Choso & funny enough heart nipple man, ino, all of them came together cause they believe in one another and care for others! And hell heart nipple and Miguel wouldn’t have even been here if gojo killed them back at the end of volume 0, Yuta or especially Yuji wouldn’t be here if not for gojo. I imagine gojo spared Choso solely cause of Yuji after he was released, The sheer amount of things that are happening now because of gojo is much more impactful than him returning to “finish” the job Also funny thing, in Baki during the father son fight, Baki’s grandad’s ghost came to watch and told Baki “you know you can beat your dad if you wanted to.” I just Need Gojo’s ghost telling that to Yuji, except have him say “Yuji you know you can pop a domain if you wanted to.” Cause honestly a domain expansion will be the final push Yuji needs to really hurt sukuna, he’s down to Yuta levels of CE, he has cursed technique burnout, no rct, and depending on the domain type, hollow wicker basket may not save him.

Gojo tellingegumi about his father and how he killed him, and how he actually did care about megumi's well being will pull him back from the deep. And yuji, having climbed to the heights of gojo and sukuna will fight beside the "gojo" that was seen. If its a past sorcerer who sukuna killed before who was just waiting until sukuna was so weak to show up and attack, or if its just gojo. Yuji will fight along side, and on par with, the strongest.

I’m wholly convinced this is Kenjaku. They never paid off that scene where Geto was able to gain control and grab Kenjaku’s neck. This would setup a way for Gojo to come back, through being body snatched. Then Kenjaku absorbs Sukana, activates the merger and Kenjaku with all his abilities is the final boss. Gojo would then have to have an internal struggled with Kenjaku to save his students while his students have to overcome him, surpassing him like he forsaw.

I think Gojo should not come back. Mostly because people want him back for superficial reasons, JJK fans are kinda weird. Gojo was all about cultivating sorcerers that would surpass him, and we’re seeing the results of that in how he nurtured Yuta’s and Yuji’s potential. With Yuji soul swapping with Yuta, we’ve been seeing Yuji finally becoming realized as a sorcerer. Gojo returning would undermine this, and Yuji’s role as THE PROTAGONIST.

I think that's flawed logic because plot wise they could have been killed realistically. It obviously didn't happen because the story isn't gonna end with Sukuna winning. But if Sukuna took things seriously earlier on (had a point he was standing around thinking), he would have killed everyone. lol Gojo could have faith just the same like Shibuya arc where people got killed and they did... Shibuya was an L for the protagonists side in the end with the start of culling games (using Mahito which Yuji fought) and Gojo taken while sealed. He had faith in them then and things were still a disaster.
