I've been an LPN for 24 years. I have worked in nursing homes, doctors offices, hospitals, home health, specialists offices, I got my Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences and now I teach CNA classes. I started as a house keeper in a nursing home, then got my CNA less than a year later. Then immediately started my QMA classes (qualified medication aide) for a couple of years while in college to become an LPN. I have never regretted a thing. Raised 2 daughters as a single mother on it. Love my job!!!

LPN is not pointless. The reason why I say this if you’re unsure about nursing and you still want a decent pay that’s higher than MA it is a good career for entry level nursing . RN school is not beginner friendly , you need to have prior experience working in the medical field like cna , med tech , or ekg tech to help you pass RN school. Of course some people are able to pass RN school without prior health experience but for you to understand the reasoning behind certain things that is done or protocols or procedures having personal experience will help you with critical thinking skills which is crucial in RN school .

I've been an LPN for 8yrs. Best decision I've ever made. It's a hard job but very rewarding. I'm currently at my local community college to earn my ADN. #LPNGang #NurseGang

My MA program starts in August but i do eventually want to eventually become a LPN, maybe become a RN; but we'll see.

Awesome… I think once you are in school and start learning more, you will become more clear on which route you want to take. I wish you the best either way 🙏🏾❤️

Medical assistants don't get the credit they deserve. We have all the skills that nurses are not taught.

What are the skills MA have that nurses tend not to? I'm a cna and currently doing pre reqs to go further. :)

Thank you. What gets me is that in my nursing program they do not recognize MA. You only get credit for being a CNA or EMT. Like, excuse me....MA is way more qualified than a CNA

I want to major in psychology to become a mental health counselor but I am at a point where I want to move out of my mom's house but I dont have a well paying job for me to do that. I thought about going to LPN just for the money while working on my psychology degree but I hate too much school.

Hi, I have a serious question for you. I hope you can answer this for me. OK I never been in nursing at all not even an CNA. But my kids are all grown up now so now I can go to school and do some things for myself now like I said, I never been in nursing at all, but I feel like it’s something I would be good at I’m getting a late start already because I’m 38 I dont know if I should start as a medical assistant or go get my LPN the school I want to attend starts in August and I’m trying to make my mind up but it’s hard. Can you help with your advice thank you and have a nice day.
@MedicalAssistingwithMsK4 ай бұрын
I think you should start as a medical assistant, and that will help you decide whether you want to go into nursing to become an LPN or an RN. And personally, I don’t think you should spend more than $10,000 on medical assisting school.
