Should I buy a ford maverick

We're looking to purchase a Ford Maverick for development of a new platform. Is it the right call?

I have a 2022 mav xlt. A few hrs ago a person in a f 150 sized truck pulled out in front of me as in was traveling along a U.S hwy. It was so close it would have shaved hair. I jerked the wheel while braking hard and then pulled back avoiding the guard rail that was only inches away on the other side. The mav handled like a champ. If the mav engine lasts, I'll buy another. I hope it does because it is awesome. It has everything that i want in a small truck. My 3 young kids even enjoy riding in it... at the same time. Haha

Have an F-150 5.0,.. and had previously had ford’s for over 2 million kms. wanted something smaller for work. Looked at several mavericks (an XLT FX4), took one for a weekend, put it up on a hoist and immediately started shopping midsize trucks after that… ended up with a Tacoma. Really wanted a maverick, but the price difference was less than 10% for a much better built, easier to service vehicle.

Should note my main bar to hit when vehicle shopping is the ability to last 400,000kms of rural driving with minimal major repairs. fuel economy or speed is not a factor.

@@attananightshadowvalid! What was about the Maverick you didn't like once you put it on the hoist? Was it because of the unibody frame? Or something else?

Are you specifically looking at the non hybrids only or have you considered the hybrid?

@@SouthdownGarage curious if it changed what modifications are available to try. I figured there would be more with the non hybrid too 👍

@headspacehiker I thought about the Hybrid option, I'm just not sure if that would get much interest. Most people in the forums are talking about their being two types of people with these vehicles, those who want performance, and those who want economy.
