Nerdy is just diving into whatever anime, now. I've not heard about "Metallic Rouge". The animation looks pretty good. At least give it the old 3 episode trial. I'd like to suggest my current #1 anime; *Mob Psycho 100* I won't say much, other than it is action/comedy with some wholesome vibes that doesn't feel too different from One Piece. Better yet, it is a COMPLETE anime of 3 seasons (12/13/12 episodes for 37 total), and wouldn't be a huge undertaking to get through it.

Five episodes in and I still don't know what the hell is going on or what this about, but I love the atmosphere and worldbuilding. Has a Blade Runner vibe that I dig. I wonder though if this would work better like as a movie or Netflix series where you could watch longer chunks rather than the spaced-out shorter, weekly drops.

Nerdy you surprised me, this show isn't really popular and yet you're giving it a chance. Just give it the 3 episode rule if you're not as hooked as you want to be by that point just drop it.

Nah, you should focus on One Piece............... or watch some all-time greats like Your Lie in April, Code Geass, Death Note, Angel Beats! etc :D

Always staying on surface ends up beeing boring and conversations with people that are only staying at anime surface are boring because they arent able to keep a conversation about the fandom going. For the 100000 time talk about naruto? No, talk about DBZ? No, talk about OP ? Hell no. Were are the Soul Eater, Texhonolyze, Ergo Proxy, Neon Genesis, Arifureta, Gundam, Higurashi, Fate, Kore Wa Zombie Desuka? God Eater, Wolfs Rain and Kimi No Na Wa people ? Anime is more than just Naruto and so on. My opinion is that Bones just dropped the first Metallic Rouge Episode and outdid AoTs entire 1st season as much as Claymore is a better anime than AoT is. AoT literally just stole Claymores premise and artstyle.

Watch Frieren with your wife--seems like it might be something she would like as well. A very thoughtful fantasy and one of my favorite shows of the past few years

If we're look at other series. I'd emphatically suggest "Space Dandy" The series isn't directly episodic so you can technically watch any episode other than the 1st and last in any order. They're so varied it's unreal. It'll make you cry, laugh, dance, sing, and even fill you with existential depression. A multitude of exceptional directors and animators take turns on each episode so even the presentation is changing constantly. Absolute banger and I'd love to see you see it.
