Should I put this bass in the trash can? (Sadowsky Review)

Great review! Being a dedicated Sadowsky player since 2009 I purchased one of these as a back up bass. I wound up changing the preamp to a Sadowsky with VTC control. The bass sounded much better after that install. (closer to that Sadowsky tone) I love the lightweight, but some of my dislikes are various dead spots on the neck, also the bass doesn't have much sustain. (hit an open E and let it ring) It doesn't ring out like the higher end Sadowsky basses nor are the notes as clear. (almost sounds muffled in comparison) Probably the Okume wood body? I will say the feel of the neck is pretty darn good! They just released an updated version maybe some of these issues I addressed are corrected. Over all it's not a bad bass and a good player as long as you don't compare it to the incredible NYC's.

So that bass is perfect? Is the neck a great job or is it lacking in finish? Does the preamp have VTC?

No but you can switch it out for one.

Sadowsky basses are very overrated. The RSD metro express are complete rubbish. There are better basses there for under $900, one example is the Sire V7
