Should I Replace my E92 M3 with a W204 C63 AMG...?

Meet Josh and his 2010 W204 C63 AMG. It's a Stage 2 car running 540BHP, and it sounds incredible thanks to a straight piped exhaust. The question is though, should I sell my E92 M3 and buy one to replace it...?

W204 C63 AMG owner here for 5 years and hands down is the best car I have ever owned the sound is quite addictive and grown men in vans at traffic lights asking you to rev it becomes a regular thing 🤣 Amazing car mate 👍🏼

I've owned mine for 5 years also. Have you driven the Vauxhall that was a copy of the holden commodore? It's very similar car 6.2 ls engine just as much fun but in an adult size car the c63 is way too small for a real man

Aside from the very early performance pack (option code p30) and later black series cars, the lsd was always an optional extra, even on the 507 edition.

the 2008-2014 lexus isf is a sensible option for a daily driver and super rare in uk but extremely reliable. intake exhaust headers and a tune should see it in the 500-520bhp mark depending on the fuel used. 2010+ all have LSDs fitted from factory, not optional extras. pretty much all the options are fitted standard

@@tubejorrit owned a 10 plate W204 C63 myself many years ago and it did have LSD was also a performance pack car. Thought it comes with the pack, my car had the performance pack brakes, half alcantara steering wheel and believed it had stronger internals too with the performance pack. A specialist in Edinburgh who serviced the car for me told me all PP cars come with LSD, must of been wrong. My mistake buddy. Was just going off what I was told.

@@MohammedP-bf1td From what I found, the p30 package on the pre-facelift came standard with an lsd while the p31 package on the face lift did not, it was optional. I believe the performance pack was different to the p30 and p31 but correct me if I'm wrong.

I am fortunate enough to own w204 c63 and an e36 M3. Both are very special in its own way but the c63 is my favorite. The sound alone is very addicting and the torque is very different.

Market has crashed for the c63 cost of living along with £700 a year tax has drove prices down. Can pick up a nice facelift with low mileage between 21 and 25k. I would steer clear of the pre facelift due to the real dated dash and head bolt issues.

Having the same dilemma. Had a B7 RS4 for 8 years, loved it and miss it still. Currently 4 years into a 2013 E92 and love that too but have always had a hankering for one of these.

There’s a side by side comparison video on YT of a e92 and w204 both decat. W204 makes the e92 sound modest! M156 is an incredible engine. Would be a very tough choice between the two though. Very different cars for being direct rivals. Great video as always Luke!

I wouldn’t have a C63 as a daily though if you sell your M3. C63 will probably cost more to maintain. Daily the A45, track car R32. And do something wild with the C63 (or M3)

Its about the same the m3 is more of a track car with the lsd, high revving v8, edc, dct. c63 is just a muscle car with a slush box auto. Merc and bmw parts similar cost.

@@joshvirdee been daily driving AMG cars for 9yrs and I always laugh at people telling me they cost alot to run. Almost no difference compared to other cars I have owned. My worst car for maintenance was the last two Fords I had. Explorer sport and Explorer ST

I’ve had mine since new in 2013 and wouldn’t ever get rid. Make sure to go for a facelift late 2011-2014 if you decide to go ahead. If you do make sure to change the injectors for peace of mind (go bosch same as oem without the Mercedes stamp £200 vs £900) Also in your video you mentioned the 507, the LSD was also an option on that too. Plenty of people fit a Quiafe or Wavetrac ATB as the stock one is a plated diff.

Not sure about that. The W204 C63 is generally regarded as being a little more reliable than the E92, pre facelift head bolt issues aside.

This convo is made too complicated. There were three cars of this age, if you want the thrill of acceleration the C63 is for you, if you want the better track car it’s the M3, if you want the fastest overall road car it’s the B7 RS4.
