The owner of that Mitsubishi was named Noah and he referred to his car as his Ark. Noah bought his tires 2 by 2, usually right before a REALLY big rain. I also happen to know Noah was into animal rescue. He’s actually quite famous!

Nice to see a Montero. I drive the european version, called the Pajero with a 3.2 Diesel. Great trailer hauler and capable off roader. Sadly you didn't get the diesel version in the US, apart from the diesel pump issues, they are great engines.

I bought a 2011 Escalade Esv a few months ago for cheap with the same sound. Turned out to be an AFM collapsed lifter. It's in a machine shop now getting rebuilt with AFM delete. I had emailed Randy about it. So yeah Mike its much deeper than an oil change 😅

Mike that Escalade has the classic active fuel lifter drop DOD lifter needs replacing and the more u run it the more u will need a cam replacement as well Ask me how I know!!!!

Those Mitsubishi are sold here in Australia as the Pajero. 3.8 petrol v6 or 3.0 4 cylinder diesel. Very popular.

That Escalade with a flashlight engine light was probably due to an active misfire.. needs a engine.. and probably the transmission an differential was never serviced.. wait for a better one to pop up

Mike 2010 was the first year of cylinder deactivation for the Escalade, So anything before is probably your best bet.

Please start caring more about the milage, anything north of 120,000 you should leave well alone. Both these today.. I like the ford ranger personality for towing & all that nice room at the back too. Or how about a land rover, defender etc. If you spot anything in there low mileage that needs some engine or body work I think you should start focusing on getting them and flipping them for maximum resale value. The low mileage premium.

yah the escalade has the classic DOD failure i would avoid it unless you can get it super cheap like $500 cheap just know that engine will need replaced its already to far gone with a dead miss like that.

Guarantee you that Montero lost a timing belt. They go at 200K like clockwork if people don't maintain them.

Any GM V8 engine newer than 08 has cylinder deactivation and that Cadillac sound like it had dropped lifter

That escalade has a collapsed lifter like someone stated. Its poorly maintained so pass on it. Some people do remove the msd lifters on them with sucess to get away completely from it.
