Should I Seal My Pavers | Testing STAINS

Today we talk about whether or not you should seal your pavers by testing a few organic stains on sealed and non-sealed product. We also test this using porcelain stone to show how well it repels stains without even needing to be sealed.

Thanks Mike. I'd also worried about how our winters would affect a sealed stone such as bubbles popping off.

So as long as there is adhesion to the stone and no moisture present, you wont get those bubbles with solvent based. With water based, they are breathable so you wont get those bubbles anyways.

Hi Mike, I have been watching your tutorial videos. I need to install slabs in my backyard. I saw my neighbour using universal concrete curb, the one you get from HD, as edge restraint. is it advisable to do this for open graded base or concrete would be the best for the project. Big thanks in advance.

I wouldn't use anything from HD, the quality is not good. A concrete curb would work but you would still need an edge restraint on the other side of it. I would use a concrete edge restraint.

Which sealer you recommend for Nicolock Stone Ridge pavers? Also, is this the same products that give the pavers that always “wet”look?

I've never used nicolock, but if it is a dry cast product you have a lot of options whether it is a wet look or natural. the wet look sealers are typically solvent based.
