Should Kawhi Leonard Play In The Olympics?

A couple months ago, Kawhi Leonard was chosen to play for the Olympic team. But that was before the knee inflammation caused him to miss essentially the remainder of the regular season and almost all of the playoffs. Is it still smart for him to go? Will he even be ready to go?

Kawhi's priority should be getting healthy for the next NBA season. Paul George may leave the Clippers and Kawhi's importance to the team will even be greater. Team USA doesn't really need him to repeat.

With or without playing for the Olympic, we already know KL will not play in the clippers playoff next season as his knees will somehow collapse at the crucial moment. Sigh… it looks like the sixers are finally making perfect sense by walking away from the PG pursuit. Yeah he's only getting 1 chance to do it. As a kawhi fan I hope he takes it. Why aren't they talking about ad and embid the same way? Idk I doubt they are going to play him 40 mins. I doubt he will play at 100% intensity. His role on the team will be spot up 3s his midrange game and defense as a roleplayer. Im always wanting to see kawhi play. I think Kawhi will choose not to play in France. I do think he cares about the optics of not being there for the organization during the postseason and then playing for the national team, risking further issues with the knee. If rest is the best remedy for inflammation, i think he will opt to continue to rest the knee so he can be fully healthy by training camp. If he does choose to go, i think he risks further alienating himself from a majority of Clippers fans. The pressure would be intense when he plays home games, especially in games where the team might want to "load manage" the knee. I think he takes his name out of the mix soon.
