What if Konami approaches Kojima, makes amends and does some sort of joint production between Konami and Kojima productions…similar to how Konami worked with silicon knights on MGS: Twin Snakes for GameCube. It’s not unheard of for companies to outsource IPs to outside companies. So what if Physint eventually gets to be revealed as MGS 6 a joint project between Kojima studios and Konami allowing Kojima to once again work on MGS and have full creative control over the project. It also allows Konami to split the development costs between Kojima studios and PlayStation. I know it’s a pipe dream but in a perfect world hopefully Konami and Kojima can somehow make this happen.

@War6246 ай бұрын
How so? Genuinely curious. What has Nvidia done that's so bad? Aside from selling their gpus at such high prices, mind you.
@gmak80526 ай бұрын
Well to be honest I wasn't even thinking about their price fixing strategy which is basically what enables them to sell at the prices they do between dictating what their board partners sell the cards at and using production rates to control the supply and pull back at times to intentionally ramp up the pricing. There is always this talk about protecting employees of the game industries jobs and how scary a.i could be at removing many of them as well as how the capitalist model sucks. And here we have NVIDIA who is currently edging towards being the largest corp in the world with much of the stock price based on lots of people with lots of shiny things and fancy suites investing as much as possible on the bet they will lead the way in providing the very product that will slash manufacturing and creative jobs cost like before seen. Quite possibly creating an AI tech bubble fueling at some point a crash when they all ignore the fact that a ceiling always exist at some point. I could go on but I think this already pretty long.

I used to be a huge Kojima fan. But after MGSV and Death Stranding, it's pretty clear the dude is just not as brilliant as he once was. Even with MGS4 his staff had to pull him back from some stupid ideas, such as how he wanted Snake and Otacon to be executed at the end of the game. And with MGSV and Death Stranding he proved that he doesn't know how to make an open world game. And he doesn't know how to tell a really interesting story anymore. He seems to just create weird stuff for the sake of being weird. Like the dude is on some strong psychedelics all the time. He once talked about the idea of making an MGS1 remake, but turn it into an open world. Which sounds good on paper, until you see his other "open world" projects that is just barren and lifeless. I wouldn't trust this guy to even bring the original voice cast back. So NO. Forget Kojima. MGS will always be part of his legacy and we can all appriciate that. But he is no longer needed, as he is no longer the same man he once was.

Kojima and Konami seem to have at least buried the hatchet, but I'd like to see a MGS6 without Kojima. Ac!d, Ghost Babel, Portable Ops, etc were all fine without him but were only looked down on at the time for not being "canon." Now they can do whatever and that's a little exciting.
@TheBatman5826 ай бұрын
Portable Ops was for a long time considered canon, it was retroactively "decanonized" around the time the Legacy Collection came out. Kojima has never explicitly said it is non-canon, more that he doesn't consider it essential since he was actively involved in its production.
@The_RedVIII6 ай бұрын
I am 99% sure that if Konami ever did a new MGS, it would not turn out well. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are a lot of designers who could make a great playing game, that is not the issue. But if you ask "What is Metal Gear", the answer is not Snake or whatever, it is Hideo Kojima. It's his writing, and his way of staging cutscenes. I'm not a even a big Kojima fan, but he is obviously, basically a movie director, that creates videogames, even though he actually wants to make movies. The best comparison is another very unique movie director. Imagine they do Pulp Fiction 2 without Tarantino. You could have all Travolta and L. Jackson back or whatever, it will not work without Tarantinos direction or writing. It will not feel like Pulp Fiction. And MGS will not feel like MGS without Kojima. They tried with Survive; granted that was not a story focused game as far as I know, but it bombed. Kojima would have to come on board as a director, and I think that's still unlikely to ever happen.

Kojima returning would mean he’d drop Hayter again. So no, I hope Kojima stays away from MGS. Hopefully Konami make a new game with David Hayter
