Jamaica is not safe outside of the all inclusive for LGBT as a Jamaican I can tell you. Jamaica does have a number of loca gay men but the hookups are done secretly and this can be frustrating. It's not normally very easy for single men in inner city areas because as she rightly says it's male superiority the most female you can have makes you a God. But it's a beautiful island if you come as LGBT keep the relationship as private as possible except for the couple's adult resorts. But if you find this lack of freedom frustrating it's advisable to consider Puerto Rico Curacao or the Cayman Islands love y'all 😍

There is no way to know what things will look like by next April. Your travel agent should keep you apprised of all the changes.

@@travelprochristine This is a teachable moment...As an African American many countries wouldn't be so homophobic if there wasn't so much ((((public forced male rape)))) that was systematically done to break slaves for hundreds of years! How do you think somebody would feel being forced to witness that terror happen to their male family members?? Exactly!! This happened to sons, brothers, uncles, and often fathers in full view of the community including the victims parents, partners, and children! Many died from their injuries or committed suicide. Professors of African Studies tell me it was a very popular way to break the slaves will seeing as there were many Akan warriors imported to that island that were often very hard to control! This also happened on the slave ships aswell!So you can't fault them for not wanting to willingly take part in that lifestyle or have anything to do with it and you should respect that!!!! The same thing happened to us African Americans in the north for hundreds of years during slavery and if you don't know we don't **** with that either for the most part!! Dont get me started on the breeding farms! Anyway, you have a great day! No Apology

I would advise LGBTQ+ tourists and their allies to stay away from Jamaica. It's not worth the hassle. There are too many other beautiful places in the Caribbean that welcome LGBTQ+ with open arms.

Jamaica is not a male centred macho society. Jmaican women are given far more equity in society than women in Europe and North America. 70% of the university graduates in Jamaica are women: the highest in the world. Over 60% of managers in the Jamaican work force are women a much higher ratio than in the developed countries. Women have been given special reproductive rights than in US and other countries. Jamaican women has entitlement to maternity leave for 3 months from the 1970s while today women in US has to rush back to work after giving birth. Stop forming conclusion out of misinformation and ignorance

Did you even watch the video? It’s not about gender equality so I’m not sure what your comment is referencing.

Correction homosexuality is not illegal in JAM. Again you are speaking from ignorance and need to be informed. Jamaican law does not mention homosexuality. Nothing is mentioned of its legality. It is neither legal nor illegal. Its not mentioned in law. No one can be arrested for being homosexual.
@travelprochristine Жыл бұрын
That is absolutely incorrect. Homosexuality IS illegal in Jamaica under the Offences Against the Person Act 1864, and homosexual activity between men is punishable by incarceration of up to 10 years at hard labor. You need to check your facts. It is unusual for this law to be enforced but it IS on the books.
