The starting 11 is still good enough for them to be performing even without summer signings. That's the problem. Having a Sancho wouldn't have magically fixed United. Telles playing LB doesn't automatically make the defence more organized. Cavani being in strike doesn't make much difference if they can barely get the ball to the striker.

He doesn't beat big teams with his own tactical ability, he beats them because the squad is perfect to play counter attacking football. The defence playing much deeper suits Lindelof and Maguire much more if they're not as fast. The creativity of Bruno and Pogba in midfield. The intensity of a Fred or McTominay supporting that. The pace of the attack that can rival any team in the world. It's not a coincidence so many goals are scored from deep runs. Look at the Leipzig game, they played way too high a line. Ole needed 250m to "get into the Champions League", yet Lampard managed to do the same with 0 spending and took over a worst squad with no Hazard. You don't need 250m to get a team into the UCL. Ole was backed and Lampard had his ban and they both achieved the exact same points and objective. Lampard finally been backed and he's in the title race now and look where Ole is. Ole's been more than backed and he's way out of his depth and should never have been united manager considering how much they spent over his tenure and yet they lie in 14th. The difference that Jose was treated with when he dint get his players compared to Ole just cause he's a club legend. Ole's achieved less than Jose and is doing as bad. Jose wasn't allowed the excuse of him not getting his players and the entire fanbase turned their backs on him but with Ole "he's not got his players".

The biggest thing I've noticed about Ole is that he's never really been given the benefit of the doubt. When things are going wrong its all his fault but when he hits a run of form its the players stepping up. Another major problem is that after every game he is either called an elite coach or the worst in the prem. If Pep loses 5 games in a row for City he's still a good coach in bad form, if Ole loses a game to PSG in the last minute to a bad penalty decision he gets called an insult to United's legacy.

I just think at a certain point, united fans have to stop wanting to buy their way out of their problems. With such a bloated squad, they need to sell more players than they need to buy. Selling pogba would give them money to reinvest into a defensive mid and a centre back. Then next summer, stop trying to be cheeky about it and get the Sancho deal over the line. After just three 3 signing, you have a good squad that a good manager like poch could consistently get to the champions league and, further, do bits in possibly -- especially when poch is able to develop and capitalize on the talent of players like martial and rashford and wan bissaka

@ronmastrio27984 жыл бұрын
@@thestar6798 But by that metric no manager has ever been backed even Sir Alex missed out on players that he wanted. The problem for United in recruitment is no strategy they seemed to pin everything on Sancho though quite what a winger would do for a team that can't defend I don't know and then after failing got two kids who we wont see again for years if ever. Then because United weren't prepared to walk away they put themselves in a hole time wise and panic bough Telles and Cavani. This comes from negotiators having bad intelligence and not knowing the players true values so they agonise over whether it was too much for Sancho where a more organised club would immediately walk away and move on. This can only come from having better scouts which could be implemented by a director of football who acts as a kind of head scout or a manger who is more intensely involved in the recruitment process. One things for sure is that Woodward should not be as involved as he is because he isn't a football man and he's being made to look a fool by United's bloated and incompetent scouting infrastructure when instead he should just be the person writing the cheques.

The answer is... does it matter? Does it really matter? This manager has not been backed and does not have a project. I think that he should go, but he is a good manager.

@@cummerchant542 So why spent 35 mil on a player just to be a bench warmer
@leithbouacida24834 жыл бұрын
@@cummerchant542 i agree, but he is an average manager. Honestly, and this is embarassing for Man itd, I feel sorry. I actually feel sorry for them.

100%. If they keep him it will be the same cycle of patchy form that they tend to have. Even from the Glazers' perspective, Poch always works with what he has, improves them and probably spends less than any other elite manager. And when he does spend, he doesn't go for bait players and get extorted

United didn't want to pay for Sancho because the price was too steep, yet they pay 40 million euros for an 18 year old who might only join in January (if he get's his work permit issues resolved) who has 25 league minutes under his belt... somehow it's always Ole's, most non United fans don't have a clue of what's going on

United think sacking is the solution the sad thing is the players are the problem not the manager

poch has been out of work for literally just over a year? how is that a long time...

The first Istanbul goal was not the CB's fault, no way our 6ft+ CB's should be on the halfway line. Shaw and Matic are on the halfway line and Matic was not goal-side but apart from that agree with all the points but I think with the transfers if Ole just got Sancho and Telles that would have been a perfect window as opposed to the others players we got in.
