The thing is with MD, 8 episodes *can* work. Each episode would need to be 30 mins or around that range (which would give the show a runtime of around 4 hours), in order to properly flesh out and make the pacing actually solid as you pointed out, Inferno. A *huge* issue with the canon show as is, is the lack of meaningful dialogue and chemistry between characters. Take Cyn and Tessa for example, who are supposed to be INTEGRAL to N's story, but ultimately they don't mean that much to him in the grand scheme of things. The Tessa twist doesn't affect N's character, and he might as well not even know who Tessa is, as he's never shown to be grieving or even sad that she ended up being Cyn the entire time. Without proper dialogue, it just feels like the characters go from Point A to Point B without us even knowing who these characters are. Once again, to reiterate something that Inferno said; criticism comes from a place of passion and love. You would only ever critique something if you wanted it to be the best feasible version of itself. Peak video, Inferno. 🔥

Episode 1 he begins to learn to be more confident from Uzi and starts to speak up for himself against J Episode 4 he gets enough confidence to stand up to V and even fights back when she won’t listen, something episode 1 N would have never dreamed of doing. Episode 7 you can see he finally gains full confidence to make a hard decision on the spot when he kills Tessa, who’s basically a mother figure to him, in order to save Uzi. So he goes from total pushover to confident hero over time, so it’s not as if he doesn’t have arcs they just could have been handled better imo.

So, to get the ball rolling. Liam at least did say something interesting in his personal Discord server, for fans of any of his works (save for SSTWL). Recently he had a QNA/art contest and he said a few interesting things. 'best to make something with real quality and care behind it - and personally at least, I really feel that come through in the show as just a sort of vibe it has! The show has a lot a lot that could be improved on of course, but really any elements I was initially sincerely frustrated or stressed about not coming together story-wise or visually have slowly faded in importance with time, and all I really remember now is how FRIKKEN HARD everyone worked to make the show as good as it was - every design, line read, animation, sound effect, etc! The endless endlessssss hours we sunk in was to make the show special to us as a crew, selfishly, because we wanted to be proud of our work, impress and inspire each other, and outdo ourselves - and that for sure happened + I'd work with any of those artists again in a heartbeat! ^ -^ All in all, feeling pretty darn good and also verrryyyyyyyy tired!' Keep in mind this isn’t the whole thing, just a brief snippet, but it does leave the impression that Liam’s aware. There’s definitely a few details we as consumers/an audience aren’t all that privy to, and I have a feeling that murder drones being so closely developed to meta runner season 2-3 explains a few things. I think the big thing holding the idea of a remake back is if they can even add anything new, be it lore, and the fact that Glitch hasn’t really done 'remakes' before at all.

I kinda liked that fact that MD was fast paced, sure you missed some things, but after watching the Wano arc of One Piece and its slow pacing MD was a breath of fresh air when it came to that. My major complaint is the story feels incomplete, part being that they did tease a potential season 2 a good amount, but also the like it felt it was gonna go a different direction from what we got. Take for instance Tessa telling N that he would need to choose the universe over one little drone, that line felt like it had so much weight at the time cause we didn't know it was just Cyn screwing with N. Also would have been interesting to see more of Tessa this person who once liked robots so much now set on killing them all if it meant stopping CYN. Doll is another character that felt like was gonna play a major role, but ultimately met her untimely end. Yes N could have used some character development, yes Khan just needed to pull the trigger in EP 8 so on and so on

I don’t want murder drones to be milked for all its worth when it’s story is already over, but I always wished ep 8 had a longer runtime, and was made differently. I still love it a lot, but they did N AND J so dirty, just because it had a 20 minute runtime. I don’t want to be ungrateful, but I thought we wouldve at least seen N’s reaction to Uzi sacrificing herself instead of the teacher doing a cool pen trick. I would’ve thought we would see N’s reaction to V being alive. I would’ve though we would see N being a LITTLE remorseful about Tessa. People don't understand Doll's death It's a lesson, Doll is the polar opposite of Uzi, by that I mean she faced things alone when Uzi went through everything with others. Doll chose to not open up to people, which lead to her demise.

Honestly, I’d love to see a retelling of Murder Drones, regardless if it’ll take several years to happen, but it’s up to Liam and the team at Glitch for themselves. Not only that, it should also be on a streaming service, like Prime Video ( if Hazbin Hotel is now streaming, so can MD). But for now, I’m happy with the way the show ended, and I want to say thank you Liam, for creating a peak show.

There is kind of a pseudo-retelling of it on AO3 called Ad Astra Per Aspera, it starts off as a Nori backstory, and then it starts retelling the show and filling in blanks in a bunch of areas, although when it reaches episode 7-8 it starts breaking off from canon, but it's a pretty good read regardless.

I love MD and i've watched it for almost a year and i'm still learning new things. I can 100% see why a remake by some other company or person could help people understand it. MD is super confusing and i only started understanding it in March. The show is very fast paced and i do think maybe the team exploring cabin fever labs should have taken more time. I also believe that the astronaut Tessa should have gotten more time so that when it is revealed she is Cyn it would hurt. Should Murder Drones be remade? With Murder Drones having issues like the pacing, plot holes, and character screentime, yes, Murder Drones should get a proper remade/retelling. But at the same time, I don't want Glitch Productions to mess up Murder Drones. Honestly I don’t think we should get an official season 2. The way I see it, the current skill level of Glitch and Liam is too low to recapture the lightning in a bottle that is Murder drones. As it stands rights now Murder drones has a lot of problem in its writing born from inexperience. With season 1 ending on a note that doesn’t give any future seasons much to work with, It will be very difficult to come up with a story that stays in line with horror comedy drama. Especially since they gave their main character god tier powers and powerful minions/friends. For now Liam and Glitch should probably focus on gaining experience by making other single Season shows. Until then, they should just let the fans head cannon their version of a potential season 2 while they themselves should just produce Official OVA’s, shorts, and cameos.

The finale is alright, it's not super bad or even super good. It very much needed to be much longer (why is it the shortest episode??) but overall it was alright and got us to the ending that I felt was what we were gonna get anyway. I however do wish that if they do go back to it at one point and reboot it say...10 years down the line, though I very much doubt it, it very much needs more episodes and be fleshed out more. I understand that Liam didn't want to write himself into corners and deal with plot holes but the show is /riddled/ with both issues without the details. It's all plot without a break and while that can be done well it just wasn't quite achieved with MD in my opinion. However the show itself I'm very much obsessed with right now, it's a good show, not every scene is gonna need the detail or even a full explanation for something to be fun to watch. And considering how much of an amateur writer Liam is I'm not even mad about it, the guy did his best and his best was freaking cool. It's hard writing for your own projects let alone a whole show where you have to manage and direct! But we also can't exactly not be asking questions about how things works because we weren't given the answers in the show. I think a reboot could work. Reboots means to bring new things to the table and this show desperately needs more character development scenes and expansion of the lore. I honestly think it could have been a perfect 12 episode series if given a little more time in the writing room.

If I were to redo MD I’d first either make VUzN endgame or scrap romance between the three altogether. I’m still on the hill that NUzi was one of the things that screwed over V’s screentime and development. The first episode had already the biggets flaw. Like it or not, the disassembly drones teaming up with Uzi in the first place shouldnt even be possible. The disassemblers have killed worker drones over multiple years. So one worker being special enough to be left alive is the most stupid and the most fantasy like thing I ever heard. N going blind and immediately seeing uzi as a new squad member doesnt make any sense either. Why and how would he even come to that conclusion, especially the outline of workers and disassemblers is not similar at all! Besides that, after killing countless workers he shouldnt even think about what Uzi said to him in the landing pot, he must have heard countless lines from workers before they died. So having sympathy for Uzi when she gets abandoned by Khan is stupid too, since he killed many workers before ruthlessly and without hesitation, we even saw him kill the WDF off as if they were nothing. And then stopping when it’s Uzi’s turn? He didn’t know her! N then immediately after 10 second process of J ‘killing him’ which again. Shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Because he shouldnt be concerned about what a worker said. Not to mention he turned against the 2 drones which were always near him for several years. Not to mention one is a year long crush! So him going along with a new drone to kill those two off doesnt make sense either! And for those who say Uzi was the first one to be nice to him, yeah. Why would she even be nice to him in the first place, instead of running?

Probably i only like the aesthetic and music but the series as a hole is pretty bad for me, the plot doesnt even make sense and the characters are kinda meh, maybe they should make Nori the protagonist and remove all that of robots having kids, make V an actual tragic likeble character, not having shipping interrumping the story, develop cyn's moyivation, not ignore plot holes etc

maybe only the first episode, since it's a horrible introduction to murder drones. Told a friend to watch murder drones once and he said he already watched it but stopped halfway through episode 1 because it was "too boring"

I like the show, but I dint like the finale, bc it didn't answer questions and gave more questions, the only way it ending was just uzi ripping out cyns core? The battle was basically nothing if all they had to do was that..

That's a dumb question The battle happened because Cyn wasn't just going to stand there and let Uzi take her core. If you didn't notice, Uzi was trying to go for Cyn's heart the whole time. It's literally what Nori told to Uzi at the beginning of the episode: "Solver needs host, destroy Cyn's heart

I love murder drones so much, and I would love to see it remade, just because it's more murder drones content. With that, I've had an idea for a potential remake. Basically, it starts at the beginning of the chronological timeline, in the elliot manor with N, V, J, Tessa, and Cyn. It would have 3 seasons: s1 focusing on the events on earth, ending with the earth getting destroyed, s2 being about the events on copper-9 before the pilot, elaborating on characters like nori, khan, alice, and yeva, and s3 being about the events in the present day, with more time to focus on character development without all the flashbacks.

I’ve come around to a sequel series NOT named Murder Drones. It’d be somewhat like a season 2 but not named season 2. Spinoff episodes or a full spinoff series would be nice too but that’s not what I’m talking about.
