Dana Bash didn't ask a racist question. She asked if Harris had any response to Trump's racist comment. The VP said no, next question - which was the perfect response. Bash did nothing wrong with bringing it up and giving her an opportunity to respond because ultimately it highlighted again the professionalism of Harris vs the disrespectfulness of Trump.

I saw the interview and the interviewer hit KH with MAGA talking points, and Kamala Harris answered all of them. Her running mate did not speak for her. Back in 2019, it wasn't obvious how quickly wind and solar would become cost-effective and widespread. And while fracking is problematic, I seem to recall arguments from years past that fracking was cleaner than coal, so that to the extent that coal could be replaced by fracking, it could serve as a bridging strategy to sustain us while we get things like solar and wind operational. As renewable energy infrastructure grows to become ubiquitous and cheap, it should eventually render coal, oil, and fracking no longer cost-effective as energy sources. Then they can go away without a need to explicitly ban them.

However, failing to do so it a pretty minor misstep as long as she is willing to acknowledge the change later on. Why she changed her mind is a perfectly fair question, and a good journalist will ask it. We should be prepared to accept answers besides, "Cuz I'm a shameless flip-flopper who should be run out of town on a rail."

Looking for simple answers to complex problems leads to things like separating kids from their parents, many of whom still haven't been reunited. Acting like a US president (not to mention the role of Congress) can single-handedly change any condition and situation in the world is ridiculous.
