If Hansen isn't able to go, Nash should be starting ahead of him due to recent output for Ireland. However, does it make more sense for Andy Farrell to try and get Jacob Stockdale back in the squad and get his confidence up and hope that he hits that pre injury rich vein of form where he looked at times unstoppable. I'd say Nash's confidence could withstand being dropped because he knows he is in or around consideration all the time, I think Stockdale after all he has been through and the form he is in now would take it extremely hard should he not even make a match day 23.

Yes JS has shown a return to form this season with Ulster. The question remains whether he has shown enough improvement in his defensive play to convince Andy Farrell.

@@fawltyoldboybasil.2178 I think November series games are an ideal place to test that out.

Stockdale can do things that Nash can't.

Like score world class tries. Bigger, faster and more skillfull than Nash.

There's no question about JS's abilities on attack - it's his abilities on defensive duties that have previously failed to impress. Calvin Nash is better in that regard.

Injuries have really been the thing that have hampered Stockdale career the most. But he is back in great form and you just can’t ignore a player like that who can be that good. Defensive frailties have been well overblown and when you can score tries like the one against the bulls then you have to be in with a shout. That said I only ever see him play on the left wing and Lowe had that spot at the moment. But he won’t play every game in the autumn series.

Hodnett injured Hanson it's crazy Munster have probably took out our best attacker and damaged his career

Start ahead of Hansen? Based on what?
@michaelcronin3855Күн бұрын
Based on my opinion that Nash is a better defender, Ulster showed 2wks ago how fragile Hanson is in defence. Hanson is a decent player going forward no doubt but like Stockdale and Larmer he is poor in defence. Jimmy O'Brien is also a well capable winger as well when fit. Shane Bolton is showing some spark with ball in hand and can defend as well.

@@michaelcronin3855 Dont agree with you. Hansen is a more rounded player than Nash (taking into account the fact that he is older too). Ireland's won-loss record with Hansen/Lowe/Keenan backfield is right at the top of World Rugby. Plus, everyone knows how Andy Farrell feels about players not defending properly - they tend to be omitted completely from the national squad.
