Should the Commanders Trade for Brandon Aiyuk?

Brandon Aiyuk told Jayden Daniels on Facetime that the 49ers don't want him. So should the Commanders?
Washington already has Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson, but do they have room for one more in the receiver room? And can they afford it cap wise? Plus, would Adam Peters want to give up draft picks to reunite with his former pick?

We have sufficient talent at WR, lets concentrate on making a big deal with a good LT. That would help a young QB more than another receiver.

Id give them a 2 and a 4 sure! But that 2 is conditional on performance and play time I’m not giving up players BC you still have to pay him… and he and the 9ers apparently don’t want to be together. But Jahan is NOT up for trade. He is your definitive slot with terry and aiyuk outside Luke spelling either of those two outside and brown/crowder/zaccheus spelling jahan

Big picture, I think it’s not the best move money-wise and terms of draft cap to trade for aiyuk, But I can’t lie it would be very exciting to see the notification that commanders are trading for aiyuk

I’m all for it if we only give up picks, we’d have to accept Dotson will be the odd man out in a few years tho and I just hope we still pay a guy like Cosmi early this year bc the market for high level guards is only gonna get crazier than it did this year

If the Commanders believe in Daniels to take them into the playoffs then you go get Aiyuk and have a scary WR 1,2 with great supporting cast and you have cap room till Daniels resigns

Aiyuk is not just better than any of our current WRs, but is also the BEST blocking WR. Making RBs, TEs, and JD better. Trade Dotson or Brown plus a 2nd aand 4th. Now, Bakhtiari (who doesnt want to go to a rebuild with no post season) would come, same with CB Gilmore. Trade Allen or Payne for a 2nd (recouping draft cap and saving $ to go toward Aiyuk) and go after Bakhtiari by restructuring other contracts. If POSSIBLE same with Gilmore. NOW we LOOK like a conference player. We have 5 years on cheap JD contract, take advantage of it!!!! If not that would be malpractice.

I swear I can tell Adam Peters is going to have a hard time convincing Commander fans to get a job, open a bank and to move out their parent’s place. He’s basically going to have to fight the Commander fans instincts to not grow up, while they beg for the Dan Snyder way of doing business to come back. Trading for Brandon Aiyuk would be such a Dan Snyder move. The Commanders have turned over more than half of their roster, bringing a lot of new players in. So before we even see how those players perform, why would we trade for and sign a player we don’t even know we need? Let me ask you, how good do you think Cj Strouds receivers were before the season started? His receivers were looked at as being average at best and you saw the year he had. Ultimately we don’t know how Emmanuel Forbes will play, we don’t know how well the offensive line will play, we don’t know if our new players can put pressure on the Qb. So why trade draft picks and sign a player to a huge contract to play what may be our strongest position?

I would definitely trade Jahan and a 3rd round pick for Aiyuk. I love the kid but that would solidify our WR room for a few years while Jayden is still on his rookie contract. We would have a chance to compete for a Super Bowl 🔥

The 49ers have good young receivers they wouldn’t want Jahan. They have an issue with pressure on the qb, they would want one of our defensive tackles.

@@TJ_TheRealManimal I know the team currently has a lot of cap space but if they sign Aiyuk then they won’t have much space. I think Luke McCaffrey could be WR3 and Jahan would make the trade more enticing for the Niners. The Commanders will also need cap space to sign O-linemen etc
