Real kingsmove is when you dip with your shoulder under the table. And that should be foul. Problem is many refferes allow it for many seconds and the opponent gets tired. In my opinion its direct foul. But if the shoulders is above the table thats not kingsmove. More opentoproll.
@ChrisDrummondAW10 ай бұрын
Why should the shoulder level cause a foul by itself? How is it unfair? What magical thing occurs when the humerus hits parallel that makes the move unfair?

as long as the pointy part of the elbow still on the pad is ok , i can’t stand it when they rest their tricep or a part of their arm on the pad and lift the elbow up for defensive/offensive position. Also the shoulder level.
@AW.Experiment10 ай бұрын
8:55 Kydyrgali couldn't have possibly won if MT dipped down under the table. Not only that, I think MT is top 2 (if not straight #1) in the world without that new humerus rule. That's probably the main reason why I supported the introduction of that limitation. I agree with pretty much everything else in the video
@ChrisDrummondAW10 ай бұрын
Sorry, but no. Michael is absolutely not top 2 in the world when he can drop his shoulder. You’re totally discounting the elbow effect I talked about. Forcing the elbow to be legal (not elevated above the pad while the triceps are touching the pad) takes away so much from dropping the shoulder. Michael could have won the match but dropping the shoulder without fouling the elbow isn’t the advantage you think it is.
@AW.Experiment10 ай бұрын
@@ChrisDrummondAW I agree that the elbow effect is a major one. But the thing is, we don't have a rule for regulating that, so...
@ChrisDrummondAW10 ай бұрын
Like half this video was arguing that if we correct the rules around elbow problems the shoulder won’t matter. Instead of nebulous humerus angle fouls that don’t confer any obvious unfair advantage we can stick to calling clear elbow fouls that do.

Well put video. The king’s move is an ugly move to watch, but I’m glad it has some place in the sport. To clarify that comment, though, I’m glad it does with the more recent rules for it. The Statue of Liberty pose version was just not only unenjoyable to watch, but not fun to arm wrestle against, either.
@ArmedAssociation10 ай бұрын
What is "kings move" did you mean "desperation move"? 😂 All good points my dude. I've recently started to get into full kings move and it's super hard to get it especially against a fast hit.
@Marandal10 ай бұрын
i love calling it Desperation move. Always makes me chuckle. I also approve of using desperation move.

I think it's practically a bone lock with some people and IS a bone lock with other people. This takes arm strength out of the ARM wrestling too much imho. When some noob complains that "they're using their whole body weight" I can't really defend the honor of arm wrestling when they're referring to someone using the king's move. Plus, ya, it IS aesthetically unpleasant.

Buddy doesn't understand anatomy. The ulna and humerus is a bony end feel range. It literally locks out anatomically bone on bone. He says even if there is a bone lock then is that such a bad thing? Um yeah because you are no longer arm wrestling. Your oponent is up against a literal wall of bone, he's no longer fighting any mechanical strength resistance while the person using the kings move gets to rest his muscles and wait until his opponent tires out. It's cheating essentially. Its like playing tug of war and then in the middle of the match looping the rope against a metal post so you can rest. And no you aren't locking out the shoulder with external rotation of the humerus so to make that comparison is innacurate. The end range of external rotation of the humerus is limited by tissue stretch not bone on bone. So if you are in external rotation of the humerus you still have to fight or else you will tear your muscle. With the elbow it locks out so the worst that could happen is dislocation and ligament tears. I'd say both are equally terrible injuries but when you are guarding a muscle from stretching too far past its end range, at least you are still arm wrestling. If your elbow is completely locked out, you no longer have to do anything but lever your arm off the table to prevent getting pinned.

I think the rules kinda keep it from being to OP. But is it a desperation move? Probably lol

@sinpoeanarconna297410 ай бұрын
In my view ... The Kings Move is ok IF the Humerus isnt at a negative angle. Refs need to enforce it correctly. And no more warnings, bc armwrestlers do it knowingly theyll get a warning, they ignore it and eventually take the foul but by then the other armwrestler is drained. It should be an instant foul the moment your shoulder dips below your elbow in a losing position. There are MANY reasons an Armwrestler shouldnt be able to dip below the table.

Armwresling is all about the refs, not much else matters. There is no sport of armwresling because there is no standard rules to follow, so refs have to interpret everything at every event and we have seen time and again how the rules change from match to match in the same tournament.
@Dmgolfer2210 ай бұрын
Yeah. Especially when they’re told to call some elbow fouls but not others. Or having to determine a stoppage foul vs running foul as in Armwars and previous KOT. WAL took the ref out of the equation more than any other promotion. They were on the right track with ruleset.

Finally. I said similair arguments as you pointed out. It makes the Sport of armwrestling multidimentional, multiple techniques which makes it more fun/compedetive. All the noobs of the insanely toxic armwrestling community at least the keyboars community, Just talks nonstop BS. All they want to see is inefficient sidepressure or hookpulling because thats the MASCULINE form armwrestling. And calling the Kingsmove a Quensmove lol. Do it yourself. You cant even pull it of.
