Our offensive line was great last season. Jordan Love was in the top 5 for least amount of sacks taken and Jacob was in the top 5 running backs. It's our defense. I’m against breaking the bank for a #1 receiver. I don’t think the Packers need a field tilting #1 receiver in their offense. The remaining teams in the playoffs are proof of that. Both AJ Brown and Travis Kelcie are the closet to one, but neither Brown nor Kelcie dictate coverage to defenses. What they are good at doing is finding holes in the defense in order to create passing lanes for their QB. The Packers receivers don’t do that. Both Brown and Kelcie also have QB’s that can use their athleticism to open up passing lanes for them, which is something Jordan Love did not do this year.

This is just silly talk. Higgins would never come to GB. He will have his choice of a top tier QB (not an average one like Love), a warm weather location or dome stadium, for a team a little closer to championship level... even if that means taking a few million less. These decisions are a heck of a lot more complex than simply who will pony up the most money. Higgins would cost this team a boatload, and I remain extremely skeptical we have the right QB in there to make him successful.
@UnbearablePandamonium7 күн бұрын
At a certain point we need a veteran in the WR room to actually help the WRs. Higgins may not be the answer because of how much he will cost, but our WR corps leading the league in drops and making small mental errors killed us this year. It might also help Love if he had more of a go-to guy, but I don’t think the attitude of “we’ll Love isn’t any good so we shouldn’t try and get more talent at WR” is helpful. We need a veteran WR for our WR development, not our QB… and you don’t get anything extra for having unused cap space.

Probably should get an alpha pass rusher to make our defense take a step forward. We probably need a CB to either play across from Alexander or replace him if the Packers cut ties with him. I think we need more LBs to have rotation. We could draft a receiver that could have an immediate impact or we should try to grab a reasonable mid-level possession receiver. I would like to see if we could another TE that could compliment Kraft, that could be Musgrave or again a decent draft prospect or reasonable veteran TE. We need to keep McManus, get rid of Stokes, keep Wyatt if you can do it for reasonable, same for TJ Slatton, we need more o-line players too. I might be wrong, but I don't think this team has as good of talent as we all thought and MLF needs to sharpen up on play calling and clock management plus situational football decisions. I thought he wasn't as sharp this year as he was last. Love needs to improve his mechanics, so he is throwing 30+ TDs and he needs to limit turning the ball over. I'm glad Gutenkust said we are in the "winning championships" mode no more "youngest team" excuses. At the same time you need to fill the holes on this team with guys that can play NFL football not just "high RAS" dudes only. I don't think anyone needs to point out we need to win at least home games against division rivals. I hope getting swept by our division is a good motivator for everyone otherwise we will keep being the 7th seed or not even make the playoffs. Hopefully, this was a sophomore slump for 2nd year players and next season, they play better. GPG 🧀

I didn't see anything this season that said we're set at wide receiver! I watched and the numbers bear out that we need better talent at the position. Tee Higgins fits the mold perfectly and would bring a much-needed spark to the Green Bay Packers offense. Tee Higgins is exactly the type of free agent that Brian Gutekunst loves to target. Tee Higgins already boasts an incredible NFL resume, combining consistency with flashes of dominance. Over his 5-year NFL career, he’s got 900 yards, and 6 touchdowns in 4 NFL seasons. His best year came in 2021-22, when he caught 74 passes for 1,091 yards and 6 touchdowns, solidifying his place as one of the league’s premier complementary receivers. What makes Tee Higgins so appealing is his ability to seamlessly transition into a lead receiver role. Pairing Tee Higgins with Christian Watson and a dynamic rookie like Matthew Golden would instantly elevate the Green Bay Packers’ receiving corps. The biggest concern with Tee Higgins is his health. He’s missed 5 games in each of the past 2 seasons and he hasn’t been fully healthy since 2022. With that being said, the reward outweighs the risk. Green Bay’s receiving group stalled in this season, struggling to create separation and provide consistent production. Tee Higgins would immediately address those issues while giving Jordan Love a reliable, high-level target in both intermediate and deep passing situations. Signing Tee Higgins won’t come cheap in combination of age, production, and potential will make him one of the most sought-after free agents this offseason. But for a team to maximize their championship window while also securing a long-term solution at wide receiver, then he’s worth every penny. Tee Higgins represents both an intermediate upgrade and a building block for the Green Bay Packers future, which is a rare combination that should make him a top priority for Brian Gutekunst and this front office. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛

@@RaymondBrean-z4d tee Higgins is actually exactly the type of target Gutey hates to target. I wouldn't be mad if the Packers get HIggins or Keenan Allen. My biggest concern is that the vibe in the wide receiving is a bit awkward right now. Reed and Wicks severely underperformed. Doubs was okay. Watson was a ghost. Doubs clearly wanted to be WR1, but LaFleur's scheme really didn't allow for him to become that guy. My fear is that none of these guys will be kept after their contracts over. What does that say about Gutie???? I think the Packers need to focus on getting tough, drop-resistant wide receivers in the draft rather than lanky, fast, athletic guys. The Packers could use a couple of Ceedee Lamb or Mike Evan types, even if their overall talent is nowhere near these superstars. Doubs is the closest. I have the most confidence that he can become WR1, however, Love is a subpar QB and LaFleur seems allergic to calling good pass plays, but is a mastermind of run plays. I think the Packers should sign a cheap, vet-minimum free agent WR to provide depth and draft a tough-as-nails rookie WR in the 3rd round. If they take Higgins and leave everyone else, that might be fine, but I think we just need more depth variation and better QB play.

I’m actually all for GB trying to make the WR room better. I also love Higgins. I wanted us to draft him. I’m in the no group though and not even because of the money it would cost. I just don’t see the amount of money it will cost giving us the return in value. 25 million to a guy who played just 12 games 2 years in a row? Who in GB is gonna draw coverage away from him? I’m still in Love’s corner, but folks, we’re not talking about Joe Burrow here throwing passes to Higgins. MLF? The master of illusion? I don’t think MLF showed well this year in his coaching. Is he gonna improve enough to make Love better and scheme for Higgins? Conclusion? I don’t think spending that much money will help us and not because of Higgins, because of the lack of what we can provide around him. Injuries too. However!! If you want to have a Higgins on our team at a fraction of the cost. A guy who doesn’t drop passes, has massive win rates on 50/50’s, Jayden Higgins, Iowa State.

Higgins sounds good, better than what they have anyway. but I like DK metcalf better. Not a FA but can be had and maybe cheaper than Higgins. How to get him? I believe sending Christian Watson along with this years first round pick would be enough to pry him away. The Seahawks I am sure have thought of life after Geno or maybe want that to be sooner than later. But I do not think Seattle will be using its first round on a QB. So the packers first round pick may give the hawks what they need to get their guy. Also sending Watson not only a younger receiver but a scenery change maybe what Watson may need. he will join a young Jaxon smith-njigma who in my opinion is taking over as the number 1 guy in Seattle. WHY Metcalf? because he is something the packers have never had. his size/speed/toughness along with his giant catch radius are hard to deny and put that to use with Love. DK has not had a qb nearly like Love. He doesnt have much injuries and he's ready to be a leader and a good one for this group in GB

Naw. I really don’t how to think of Tee. He was hurt a lot. And he did have a great QB and other around him. Let’s be honest he was motivated to prove himself bc the bengals kept stringing him a long to earn this very deal. We see it a lot, guys get paid and fall off. This happens for a lot of reasons of course. I’d rather pursue someone who is a bonified number 1 bc Watson isn’t coming back anytime soon.

It seemed like all the receivers took a step back this year. So disappointing. Kraft was the only bright spot. They need to utilize him better

I think we should trade for Garrett Wilson or DK... but that's me... if they aren't too steep...

I want DK man, and this is the last year of his deal

Ooh not a bad idea. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard somewhere that garrett was disgruntled with the jets signing davante

I would prefer Wilson over Metcalf. Metcalf is not particularly a team player and he also runs terrible routes, which is something the Packers receivers struggled with this year. I like Wilson, but I’m not sure the Jet’s would make him available, and if they did they would probably demand a haul for him.
