Should this truck driver face reckless driving charges? Here's what happened! #TheHelpfulTrucker

seen it before, the guy left the PTO engaged, AND there was a very small internal leak in the valve manifold, so after he drove off the bed slowly raised over 1-2 minutes. If the he was dumping a full bed, he would never notice the tiny leak past the seal for the up valve. BUT, he should have noticed the wind resistance from the raised bed AND the feel of the high center of gravity of the trailer. The driver was not paying attention as would be expected from a COMMERCIAL Driver

I agree with your Statement. Safety first!!! Driver's please be aware of your vehicle and surroundings 💯

We all make mistakes, but some mistakes could cost lives, which is why this license is intrusted to certain individuals. Dude should have his license revoked and be banned from operating commercial vehicles.

Maurice!! Old school Drew here from Moody blacktop days w/ Ray Ray. You know...with the 3 point shot and hook shot you couldn't stop lol. Was just talking about you and some fond memories of running that court in the early/mid 90s. No one threw it down like you! Glad to see you doing well man

This is a hard one to call. I hope this driver is ok and no one was injured. Obviously , something happened and someone is at fault hopefully things will be resolved and lessons have been learned. 3:55 . Thanks for sharing this makes good material for safety training. Is it possible his valve stuck before he could stop?

Yes, that was correctly cited as reckless driving. Probably was eligible for a few more violations i.e. destruction of public property, reckless endangerment, and more. That driver got off easy but the license should be suspended at the least.

He should have been checking his mirrors and noticed the trailer was up.
@oliorogue5 ай бұрын
Yeah how could you not check your mirrors often? Being on the phone in a commercial vehicle is highly illegal in my states. Seems like there should be safety mechanisms to prevent the trailer to be raised while driving. New tractors beep the horns like a car alarm if the driver's door isn't fully closed before releasing the brakes.

ANYTHING that can cause a driver on the road to wreck his/her vehicle, that their hauling or carrying, is considered "w(reck)"less driving. Even if someone's driving a vehicle of some sort that has a very bad flat tire on the road which could cause a wreck, should be considered w"reck"less driving. The conversation gets deeper.

From m what I remember of trucks with PTO parked the truck would kick the RPM up to operate the hydraulic stuff. Driving they still worked but at a slower speed with no engine dog down. Now all the vehicles I used the hydraulic system could only be accessible outside the vehicle with the exception of a dump truck. Also many of these types of trucks are day cabs that have a rear window in the cab you can see the trailer/bed. Mirrors and rear window trailer should have been seen going up. Also think lack of warning systems that the bed was raised is questionable if the vehicle was safe to drive on roadways.

Hello there I live in Texas and I have been watching your videos that are very helpful thanks once again, I have a quick question if you can please answer me. I am learning on my own and been watching your videos and some other channels on KZbin and also learning from a cdl book that I ordered from Amazon , question is if I get a cdl permit on my own would it be recommended to go with a company who offers a training program for student drivers and do a contract for couple years and put you behind the wheel with trained cdl drivers? Please share your input on that. Thanks again for all you do !!
