Naya Raipur failed, Dholera didn't even take off while Gift city still has like 5 buildings only. Building cities is expensive & one can never build "culture" so fast.. I'm a guy from western UP and i want my region to be partitioned from rest of the State, the eastern region of the state has different culture and Dialect, we don't even understand or speak Bhojpuri our Ethnic features are and pop culture are more similar to Haryana and punjab While Easter UPite share quite similar culture with Bihar, we are well developed and hardly anyone from our region migrates to other states for job or especially labour work , it's just because of these people that other states accuses us for this , it's just because of these people that we're being referred as UP-Bihar and people call us Bihari Also being part of this big entity allows state to the Spend revenue generated from the richer west on the poorer east , if only we get separated then it'd be better for our non stagnant development, I don't care about the other region but either the government should separate Eastern UP from rest of the state or make Western UP a separate Region or State

Area is not a problem for uttar pradesh. It's bad politics is. Maharashtra, rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are larger than UP. By GDP Maharashtra is the largest state in India. Madhya Pradesh GDP largely depends upon agriculture and it is doing quite fine in it. Also rajasthan who was initially part of the bimaru States has now progressed quite nicely under both BJP and Congress governments. But in uttar pradesh whether be it BJP or sp or bsp or congress have just misused their power and also it's long lasting corruption. Area is not a problem or else bihar would have been developed rapidly after it's division with jharkhand. Jharkhand got all the areas with minerals. Dividing Bihar has actually retracted it's growth. Also jharkhand is still not a very developed state despite having the most minerals in india.

This in my books could be a terrible idea. Allow me to explain: 1. Enormous requirement of both resources and time in setting up the infra for governance, hopsitals, administration and judiciary of new sub-states. 2. UP has 31 major rivers flowing through it. Possibilities of conflict between substates wrt. what they do with rivers flowing through them is high. Fighting amongst ourselves would be the last thing we would want! 3. Massive geographical and industrial distribution - Highly fertile alluvial soils in the Gangetic plains, brasswork, handloom, cement from Mirzapur, leather products, electric locomotive from Banaras, Samsung's largest manf plant in Noida, TCS in Banaras, Adobe, SRIB, ZS, AmEx, etc in Noida again. The scale of intra-state business that UP does is next to none. Theories and ideas are something that have never worked in a dynamic like India. UP is no different. We need a more frugal, more raw approach to the problem. I don't see how different it is from the partition of '47. India was not comparable to any country back then but look at us now! We have done so well! Dividing Uttar Pradesh in smaller states is not only lazy-easy but plain ignorance of UP's culture and heritage, whatsoever!

The idea of formation of states by linguistic background is justified. However the revenue sharing mechanism by center solely based on population census is absurd and especially the better performing states in terms of GDP has been heavily subsidised for the past 30 years. The question is how long does these developed states have to bear the heavy tax burden and subsidisation. Someone should draw the line and benefits to states should be allocated based on performance and not population.

Business investments in UP and Bihar. Companies take raw material and cheap labor from North and eastern states and pay revenue to Maharashtra and other coastal states. If these companies won't stop doing this, our states are going to remain the same.

Am from West UP and strongly believes that, West UP should be made a different state because not just the culture and language, even the demography and geography is different here from rest of UP. Other thing is, even after providing maximum revenue to UP Govt, West UP doesn't get that much importance, like the High Court branch, and other things. All of West UP development is due to its people and location, UP Govt has minimal role in it.

Every enginnering and govt institute has reserved for students of whole Uttar Pradesh not for Purvanchal..... Western Uttar Pradesh has best roads infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh.... 90% of investment and FDI comes in western Uttar Pradesh..... Now the film City is going to build in western Uttar Pradesh and shooting of 90% movies is done in Kanpur Lucknow region..... Avadh region has less crime rate and more stable than western and eastern Uttar Pradesh and have better infrastructure but didn't get investments why?? You are taking about chief minister go cheak last five chief ministes Kalyan Singh (Aligarh) mayawati (Noida) Mulayam singh and akhilesh (Avadh) Yogi adityanath (gorakhpur).....My mother is from western Uttar Pradesh and father is from Avadh so I can understand problem of both regions.... Western Uttar Pradesh need High court brench and one big medical and engineering institute....

Splitting of states won't help. As we have seen in the case of other states as well. It's just a strawman. If you want to get the entire Ganga-jamuna plain going you need to make it the largest manufacturing centre the world has ever seen. Economics and purpose will change the people for ever. They will stop associating value with tangible assets like land and focus on skill and abstract accomplishments as an investment. To make it business-friendly need to make sure - goons are dead and contracts are honoured. Also, need trillion dollar infrastructure investments along this plain historically called brahmanvarta. That is exactly what Yogi is making sure is happening. I am fairly sure he will be successful.

Uttarpradesh is the state of 'missed' opportunities. Its geographical features is sometimes compared to California as well. Reason behind uttarpradesh inefficiency is the political instability. Hardly any ruling govt. is given chance in the consecutive election. It results in backlog of the present policy run by the govt. Large size of population and geography is not easy to satisfy by single policy of govt . One size doesn't fit all. The administration and society of the east and west uttarpradesh has visible difference. Any policy that suits one side dost not reflect the same at the other. Both the sides have their own requirements and different lagging areas which needs to be worked upon. Partition not into 4, bcaz of imp financial losses and pressure on infrastructure, but definitely into two is the present indispensable necessity of this state.
