Preciselly. The main problem with co-vid wasn't the virus itself but the mass-hysteria created by the media. Which didn't just create unnecessary overall panic and discrimination between people, but also indoctrinated people into believing the worst, which had the effect of mass psychogenic Illness (essentially people start experiencing an illness not because they were infected, but rather because they make themselves believe that they are sick, so essentially, during the outbreak, a simple cold could easily turn into co-vid, simply because people got scared they got co-vid as soon as they started experience ANY kind of symptoms that could be a result of pretty much any kind of virus or bacteria).

I work as a RN in an emergency room. We’ve seen an increase in Covid cases lately. These patients are some of the least sick people we get. They have mild fevers, some body aches, some headaches, and occasionally a cough. Flu patients feel way worse. And there seems to be no difference whether they’re vaxxed or not.

I am at the hospital now with my 85 year old uncle. we are the only two people in our family and we have only each other. This variation has given him all kinds of cardiac issues as well as blood clots he now has in his lungs, plus pneumonia. They are going to watch it but it is a very weak prognosis. I just lost my mom on hospice and my grandmother 9 months before her, followed by my aunt 6 months after my mom. I am at the hospital at night and between my two jobs during the week. I work 7 days a week because I have to not because I want to. . I am grateful that I have the strength to make it AND remain sober. Prayers for all of you and much reading about acceptance and things being exactly the way they should be in this moment. I am thankful for my higher power whom I choose to call God.

I’m an at risk person and took all precautions during Covid-proper per my personal doctor’s recommendation for my case, but I am so over this - it’s ridiculous. The idea that natural immunity wasn’t real immunity is so absurd that it hurts my brain. If you’re sick with anything, wearing a mask is helpful, but healthy people need to get this thing to provide herd immunity. There's no herd immunity with covid. My brother got it twice in two months this summer, at the end of may/start of June and middle of August. He infected other people with immune deficiency, who needed antibiotics to avoid pneumonia and one whole month to get well. And so on and on...each infection weakens immune system and entire body. Long term consequences of being constantly sick are not something to wish for...

You won't be laughing if you get it. Been there, it's not fun. And if everyone in the home is sick, well darn there is nobody to take care of you. We were sick for weeks, got better and it came back for at least 2 more weeks. We couldn't eat, too weak to cook...drank soda and water. Missed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Bad cough, fever, had to use our asthma inhalers ( hard to breathe) and a lot of our hair fell out...we both have thick wavy hair. And it was everywhere, got quite thin, also could not smell or taste. We took an over the counter vitamin supplement for hair, nails and skin. The hair grew back thicker and quite curly. I still get tired easy, and sometimes when walking I find it hard to breathe. We had it 2019 when it first came out.

My daughter was extremely sick for over a month, loosing taste and smell. I don't know if I ever caught it, but if I did it was extremely mild. Everyone is different, and can be effected differently. No two people are the same.

@@Gyvulys painful long lasting cancer...my uncle died of lung cancer...he went to the doctor for a spot on his side...upon biopsy, they followed it to his lung. Opening it made it grow faster, but still too long before he passed away. No they could do nothing for him but help manage the pain. I also watched my husband slowly die...both men smoked most of their lives...when he could no longer be helped...we watched as the lack of oxygen to the brain, slowly made his life miserable and not worth living. So cancer is my answer. And no I do not smoke or do drugs. Living a clean eating whole foods life.

I’m in my 30s and got the new variant pretty severely with a fever lasting 2 weeks and extreme throat and sinus pain. This doesn’t hit everyone like a “cold.”

Viruses weaken every time they mutate so when I say there's no need to worry, there's no need to worry. As someone who still tests people at a laboratory in st petersburg fl we have not seen a spike in positives, & are still more focused on other medical specimens more than covid.

“Freak Out” and “Take Appropriate Precaution” For over a decade, many in my family wore masks every cold/flu season. That should be the norm in major cities, not a mandate but just normal hygienic behavior. Regardless of severity, cold and flu viruses spread easily. Even if your infection feels like a minor inconvenience, reducing spread saves lives.

Yes! I wore a mask religiously after Covid hit in 2020; and stopped about spring of 2023. I didn't get so much as a sniffle during that time. I also planned on wearing a mask this winter season [2023], but I got lazy and didn't. And no surprise, I ended up with Covid. A mild case, but sick nonetheless. After I'm recouped and out and about, I'll get the mask back on till spring. A lot to be said for masking!

@@sharit7970 Ive downgraded to single layer cotton. Preferably damp when gardening. Haven’t needed allergy medication since. Still the only one that hasn’t been sick. Anywhere between 100-900 customer interactions on a normal workday. No Colds or Flu either. Which is very unusual to me with my line of work so I’ll wear masks whenever possible. Besides taking care of elderly at home.. never being sick is nice

@@southendbos thank you I got the worst case of poison ivy on top of it too...but the plus side..i got loads of epinephrine & prednisone for the swelling and to help with the allergic reaction ( my eyes swelled shut for a couple of days ) so the up side was the steroids antihistamines probably helped me with the covid. But i was hatin my life for the last couple of weeks..sure am glad that is over

Steroids are good for inflammation but lower your your immune system so no it did not help your covid. Your own immune system fought covid

I had covid for 5-6 days and by day 6 I felt almost perfectly fine, there's no need to wear a mask (unless you want to). the flu was the same damn thing and look at it now, this is making people freak out for no reason. I had the same symptoms as the flu and went to work this week feeling fine.
