BRICS is the influential economic alliance of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, and it is reshaping the global economy. Plans for increased trade and a common currency may challenge the West, leading to concerns about political and economic shifts globally.

I don't think people understand how little that matters. As someone living in a BRICS nation, BRICS is not an eastern NATO or an anti-US ASEAN. That whole "they're so close to each other they want to have a BRICS games" is just politicians. The average Indian and the average Brazilian don't see each other any different than Indians and Brazilians see, for example, Austria

Exactly why i enjoy my day to day market decisions being guided by a portfolio-coach, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/ analvsis they have, it's near impossible to not outperform, been using a portfolio-coach for over 2years+ and I've netted over 400k.

It's interesting to learn more about the discussions and proposals around BRICS nations and their potential use of gold. Well the truth is that Russia is an extreme example of sanctions to a historical event, however sanctions have been used for many years as a tool of coercion by the USA in even miniscule situations.. In 2018 Ecuador wanted to implement a UN breastfeeding resolution (to limit the use of baby formula) and the USA threatened them with massive sanctions, purely so they can protect the biggest player in the market (which is a U.S. company). And that was done to an independent democratic nation, that wanted to implement a UN accord to better the life of their own people - now put yourself in Saudi Arabia's shoes or China's shoes with their human rights records, in no way they would want to fall under the whims of USA and give up their sovereignty.

BRIC'S isn't helping matters. According to some analysis, the United States and other regions of Europe will have a major recession in 2023. Because China and emerging countries frequently grow faster than more developed economies, a global recession, which is defined as a decline in annual global per Capita GDP, is more uncommon. Fundamentally, if economic growth lag's behind population growth, the global economy is said to be in recession.

It is a reminder that the constant growth we are used to in some countries aren’t to be taken for granted. We freak out over a 1% drop in GDP after a decade of growth. And Brazil isn’t even as bad as some of the truly failed economies in the world. Still the increase in living standards have been amazing. My wife was born in the 80s and grew up with no water or electricity and survived mostly on corn. Now her sister that still lives there has all the modern coneviencises we take for granted such as water, electricity, broadband internet, a car, smartphone, plenty of food etc. even if things are worse compared to 2012 compared to the 80s it is a lot better. Just a question, is it easy to have good human rights record when the country is not wealthy and don’t have that much resources to go around? Or is it easier to accumulate wealth by colonise, pillage, genocide and exploit all over the world earlier then hopefully establish wealthy younger generations with good human rights records?

Everyone I interact with regularly, and every business I need to do business with has either a solar array and batteries, generator or UPS, and in most cases all of the above. So I guess in areas of South Africa which are part of Africa, geopolitically and economically speaking, it's bad, but in other areas no-one really notices the loadshedding because it's on the outside - you only know it's loadshedding because you can hear the generators in some of the nearby buildings and some of the streetlights might go out if they're owned by the city/government. Surely there's extra expenses to pay for Diesel and more regular maintenance checks for infrastructure, but by and large your Employer, HOA or Association of HOAs acts as another level of local government to provide those services the government doesn't.

The tone of this video has an essence of western narrative on so many levels. I would mark out a few points from this video which made me feel that. 1) this video only talks about the GDP as a whole bit in reality a more accurate parameter to calculate a countries wealth is GDP PPP as goods are not the same price every where. 2) I felt that at many instances in this video India was deliberately ignored ex; when he mentioned that these countries are declining he mentioned all the countries except India which felt fishy. 3) This video sounded more focussed on portraying the negatives, but somewhere I feel that countries like Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Mexico etc are not that dumb to apply to become a part of a failing group. Please correct me if I am wrong as this is purely what I felt.

Yeah, it stinks of western fear. Westerners will hear about global south countries wanting some of their own things instead of being content with the leftovers from the west and immediately think that sounds suspicious and scary. Like sure how dare China and Brazil and India and South Africa and Argentina and Algeria and so on - all incidentally countries who spent centuries under western colonialism/imperialism - want to do their own thing without being under America's thumb, and so much as try to prioritise their relationships with each other over simping for western interests. They must be inherently evil right? It's like they're so comfortable in their privilege that any attempt, however weak, to make things just a little less unbalanced is seen as an immediate threat to their very existence. It's like the geopolitical version of incels and 'Blue Lives Matter' types, except the western leftists themselves can barely see it (the saving grace is when he mentioned that if the global currency was China's it'd make sense for the EU and US to want to make one of their own - he can at least see that not wanting to be under another power's thumb is a pretty logical choice).

@chiranjeevmehra9860
@chiranjeevmehra9860 11 ай бұрын
@@imapimplykindapimp I think considering PPP does make a huge difference on a global stage too. In simplest terms I understand that PPP has a more centralized exchange currency exchange rate which is extremely difficult to manipulate as it is not dictated by the market sentiments. Also, standard GDP is only considered based on the internationally traded goods but it ignored the domestically consumed goods and services which is actually considered while calculating the PPP. Now any business across the globe would like to penetrate a huge domestic market or at least would like to become a player in it. Thus high GDP PPP is a global indication about a country’s local market and a better PPP attracts FDI which further plays a crucial role in the political and economic economic development of a country on a global stage. I might be wrong but this is what I think why PPP is more reliable strategy while talking about it economic size

Even when it comes to Russia and China, how much they actually hate the US is very debatable... you would be surprised how much is real and how much is domestic propaganda. I assure you that even Russia would prefer to cozy up with the US, than having to do the same with China, which is much more dangerous to Russia than NATO. Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa make up BRICS. All of these countries with the exception of India and China, have shrank in economic terms over the past 10 years. China going forward, is going to have a much harder time growing since their labor force has peaked in size and is now going into decline. In addition to this, the price of Chinese labor (especially when you factor in tariffs) is much higher then it is in many other areas of the world which is going to fuel an exodus of manufacturing out of the country. As China shifts into low-growth mode, this leaves India. India is the only member that is going to see fast economic growth over the next 10-20 years. Given this, I don't know if it is likely that the BRICS will be in a prosperous enough of a situation to act to create a currency that would act as a stable alternative to the US dollar.

@@Nermalton77 That is indeed the truth. But I like to look at it in another way. Everybody had the chance to exploit each other, and everybody did so in every opportunity they had. In this battle for supremacy the west won for various reasons, and they did things what a victor in those times would do. If it was the other way around we too would have done the same. Now after all these years it really doesn't matter how much we complain, for it is useless and a waste of time. The western world has changed a lot. A person from an immigrant family can become a high level political figure or a CEO in western institutions, but can we say the same for others? I'm no smart guy, but I do understand that winners win for a reason, and in the real world, it's all that matters.

@@chinmayghule8272 Liberalism is not simply analogous to "progressive". It's the idea that personal responsibility trumps collective responsibility, which is ignorant to the fact that social conditions affect the development of civilisation. The idea of that an African nation is poor today, it's because they stayed poor, and not because of French meddling.
@chinmayghule8272
@chinmayghule8272 Жыл бұрын
@@porridgeramen7220 I think we can agree that the world is a better place than it was a few centuries ago. We have made great strides in terms of human rights, economic development, and technological advancement. And while there is still much work to be done, I believe that liberalism has played a major role in these positive developments. Liberalism is based on the idea that individuals are free and equal, and that they have certain inalienable rights, such as the right to life, liberty, and property. It also emphasizes the importance of individual responsibility and the rule of law. These principles have helped to create a more just and equitable world, and they have also led to economic growth and prosperity. Of course, liberalism is not without its critics. Some argue that it is too individualistic and that it does not take into account the importance of social responsibility. They also point to the fact that liberalism has been used to justify colonialism and imperialism. I believe that these criticisms are valid, but I also believe that liberalism is a valuable framework for building a better world. It is important to remember that liberalism is not a perfect system, but it is the best system we have. And I believe that it is the best hope we have for creating a more just and equitable world for all. In response to your specific points, I would say that liberalism does not ignore the fact that social conditions affect the development of civilization. In fact, liberalism is based on the idea that individuals are shaped by their social context. This is why liberalism emphasizes the importance of education, healthcare, and other social programs. These programs help to create a more just and equitable society, which in turn helps to create the conditions for individual flourishing. As for the issue of African poverty, I agree that it is a complex issue with many contributing factors. However, I believe that colonialism and imperialism played a major role in creating the conditions that led to poverty in Africa. These systems of oppression robbed Africans of their land, their resources, and their dignity. They also created a legacy of violence and instability that continues to haunt the continent today. I believe that the best way to help African countries overcome poverty is to support their efforts to build strong democratic institutions and to promote economic development. We should also work to address the legacy of colonialism and imperialism by providing reparations and by supporting reconciliation efforts. I believe that a multipolar world is a good thing. It means that there are multiple centers of power, which can help to prevent the domination of any one country or group of countries. A multipolar world is also more likely to be peaceful, as countries are less likely to go to war with each other if they are not competing for dominance. I hope this response addresses your concerns.
