We want to see a creative mini narrative. We want to laugh and we miss those "characters". Now more than ever, it's the perfect time for indie creators to shine, and the algorithm itself agrees. They might even get a lot more traffic to the channel if they even tried.

I think Gabe's character would be in a kind of one-sided competition with John to be the most masculine. Gabe's character thinks that all straight guys are macho and he puts on a lot of toxic masculinity because he thinks it is the only way to bond with a straight guy. John takes everything at face value and goes along with it, so John and Gabe end up both going fishing or something despite neither of them actually wanting to. Allison is a well-balanced person in her personal life but a deeply unprofessional relationship therapist. Every episode she has clients whose issues she listens to purely for the gossip, she asks them wacky would you rather questions, hypotheticals, and alien-related theories, gives them bad advice, but at the end of the episode she finds the right thing to say to help fix their problem. This could be because they bonded over having Allison as a common enemy, or because something Gabe and John do give her a good idea.

I would love to see you guys do sketches again (if it’s fun for you), and they don’t have to be high budget to be enjoyable! iPhones can pick up a surprising amount of sound, 2 tripods + 2 iPhones you have multiple angles and are good to go! I know it's been a minute since the KZbin sketch days but you guys have made excellent sketches on TikTok/instagram in the years since then! Plus, all the ideas you came up with in this video are great! I'm in love with the idea of the "Gabe constantly experiencing wild and crazy things off-camera" bit. You could stretch that out into a recurring thing where Allison and John always think Gabe is making up these stories and then eventually we find out there's actually an explanation for everything (like, Gabe has been working as a stuntman to make some extra money so he can move out of Allison and John's house) and Gabe has just not been explaining it well. Plus, you can get so much mileage out of the "Gabe is in love with Allison" bit from the original sketches now that Gabe isn't a girl and Allison is still not into them! Throw in some "John and Gabe are best bros and Allison gets jealous but when they invite her to do bro things with them, she always refuses" and you're golden. Also, just saying, the perfect first sketch episode would absolutely be "Gabe and Allison have to start making sketches again but they can't come up with any ideas" and it's you two brainstorming increasingly absurd ideas that all get shot down by your extremely pragmatic producer, obviously played by Melisa, who in the end suggests "Gabe and Allison brainstorm sketch ideas" as your first sketch. As soon as I can afford to join the patreon, I will!

I know I just commented this 10 seconds ago but I'm having so many sketch ideas...I might just have to keep adding more comments replying to this as I come up with them. First off: Allison's therapist suggests she take up a calming hobby to combat her mental illness and Allison spends the week trying to decide on the PERFECT calming hobby. She creates all these spreadsheets and powerpoints and stuff trying to optimize her hobby choice and we get a scene with her asking Gabe how he finds new hobbies and either Gabe says he picks up hobbies exclusively to impress dates or that he just stumbles into them ("I was walking Bean and these people in the park were playing frisbee and I threw it back to them and they asked me to join their ultimate frisbee team" or whatever).

You could do sketches with no/low budget, but as reels. Short-form sketches are very much a thing, and no one is expected to bring high production value to those- if anything, it'd be kind of a mismatch.

You could still do the character/sitcom approach. It might be funny to see a sketch where Gabe and Allison babysat the same child for someone else, and the parents are upset with the both of them for different reasons. Gabe would be like a chaotic, out-on-the-town uncle, taking the kid along on your chaotic adventures, or doing something the parents would never allow. Allison would be kind of smug because she took the kid to "proper" activities, but the parents would be upset with her for taking the child to the same "boring" activities repeatedly, like having gone to paint pottery so many times, the parents of an insane amount of coffee mugs that their child gifted them.

If you manage to make it a fun riddle for us viewers, maybe it could drive engagement. Simply Nailogical has her community go detective mode about new nail polish releases. I have seen Mudan go to a fun extreme. Once in a while he creates riddles that have to do with hidden things (numbers, letters) in editing. If not riddles, it could be a book in the background, where the title foreshadows something ominously. Just throwing my brain out there.

Allison's wacky dabbling in progressively sillier hobbies blows up into Krameresque Silly Allison persona ("I'm getting into Mongolian Crab Wrestling!"). John is worried that he and Silly Allison can't raise Sugar and Phantom alone and invites Gabe to live in the house and help. "You're like the straight man to Silly Allison," says John. Gabe's discovery that anybody sees them as a straight man prompts a long-running comic neurosis redeemed by the fact that the three neuro-diverse, gender-diverse adults in the house raise two sensible, well-adjusted dogs who eventually get their own spin-off about their college days. The series finale reveals the whole thing has been a fever dream caused by Classic Allison being hypnotised by a fidget spinner. Boom - six seasons and a movie.
