What happened to the OLD atmostphere? Lack of a magnetic field allowed the atmostphere to be stripped away by solar wind. If that is not remedied, it is doomed from the start.
@diamondjim7560

THIS is exactly true. Melting the polar ice caps won’t do anything other than losing more water. Unless some genius can figure out how the recreate a fluid iron mantel around Mars’ iron core to create an electromagnetic shield, Mars will always be a dead planet globally. Super reinforced bio-domed roofs (to protect from asteroids) would be the only way in the foreseeable future that Mars could be colonized. On the other hand Venus still has an active shield. Removing the immense concentration of CO2 and Sulfur might be possible in some advanced future.

yes but the solar wind will do that over millions of years, short term nothing significant would happen
@johnorfanos6287
@johnorfanos6287 2 ай бұрын
@@martinsz441 regardless, there would still be massive amounts of radiation penetrating the atmosphere with such a weak magnetic field. That coupled with the radiation from the nuclear fallout, would make conditions beyond unsuitable for life. As unrealistic as it is, we have a better chance of cooling down venus than nuking mars to create a liveable surface temperature!

It can't be remedied. Without a molten iron core, Mars will NEVER be able to support an atmosphere on its own without continuous, artificial Terraforming, for the life of the solar system & Humanity. ⚠️ No molten iron core = no magnetic field = no atmosphere ‼️‼️ No further explanation necessary 🤷🏻‍♂️ 🌌🔭

Even if it works, it would be short lived. Mars has a very weak magnetic field, so solar winds would simply blow the atmosphere into space.

It would be cheaper, safer, and quicker, if we just built habitable domes. Terraforming an entire planet is just too far and advanced for our current technology - we are already making a nice mess with this planet which is getting harder to fix by the day! 🤯

Some ways dome cities would be better anyway because they would be climate controlled and if they are climate controlled you could create climate theme cities such as winter paradise where it stays around 30 degrees Fahrenheit with snow fall all year round, summer paradise where the temperature is around 80 degrees Fahrenheit, or you could have a spring/fall type climate where the temperature is around 55 degrees Fahrenheit, climate theme cities could bring in tourism to the cities.

Nuking mars has nothing to do with worth, it’s just a stupid idea, so many better ways of doing it that would need us to create more nuclear material here on earth to then deploy it on rockets that have yet to be perfected. We need to advance our technology , so building on Mars is a good idea, but not trying to terraform, let’s clean up Earth first

I think we should send one nuke to each pole, but one of the weaker ones, put mirrors on the poles to potentially melt them, and use genetic modification to create organisms that could survive, starting with simple things like single celled organisms, then moving on to slightly more complex, and eventually making plants and things. Them bring in oxygen and water from earth

Consider this: there is another species terraforming our planet, by using us as their tools, albeit it seems like a slow transformation, It's according to their plans, just like terraforming Mars would take hundreds of years, possibly thousands, so to us terraforming the planet for this other invisible beings that influence us in multiple different ways. But this process by influencing the inhabitants of a planet you want to terraform is much quicker. Interesting.
