Glad to see you out and about again. I've seen so many foreign motorhomes on my own trip around Scotland (got back today) and feel there is a real need for more aires especially now there is going to be a ban on wild camping. Such a shame that a group of irresponsible van users have spoilt it for the rest of us. They don't seem to understand that leaving their rubbish around or parking inappropriately is giving other van users a bad name. I do feel quite strongly that the Scottish tourist board should have put in place more camping facilities before heavily promoting the NC500

Thirty two and a half grand for a shed that could be wiped out in a bad storm. Down here in the south some of them are priced well over £100,000, depends on where you go. And can’t sleep in the beach huts, they have all sorts of restrictions, they are literally just a shelter for your beach gear.

My old Boxer used to love a bit of Cheese but I have to say ,I didn't love him quite so much after he'd eaten it. Come the evening he wasn't quite so nice to live with. Funny though when they look behind them with that puzzled expression on their face. 😬 You're right about the beach huts in the rainbow colours. The only place I've seen them like that is on the Suffolk and Norfolk coast. I agree about the Aire price £17 seems a bit steep. We need more of them and more reasonable prices, that would be the best and only way to control the "too many Campervans" problem, I think. Good to see you out and about again and Keira frolicking. 🐻

Hari OM I was up at the Cullen aire in July and they have already advertised a different pricing structure, with the spring and autumn going up to £12/night... the fifteen quid during the summer months is certainly the top end as far as I am concerned for this type of parkup... I looked at the Findhorn one but decided £17 was just a bit steep - though the toilet blocks do make it more attractive. Was talking with one of the Cullen managers and he was saying they are planning putting in EHU... but that's making it closer to a campsite, even without toilets being nearby and I bet the price will up again. I think it's great that we are starting to get aires in Scotland, but I'm worried the creators are only seeing the moolah signs and missing the point of attracting the spending power in other ways... That said, next time I'm up on the Moray coast, I will give the Findhorn one a visit. YAM xx
