Flameheart has control of every world event including the skeleton fleets excluding fort of the damned. The silent Mary is probably the only ship more powerful than the Flying Dutchman but it’s whereabouts are unknown

I don't see how it's more powerful. The Dutchman can go underwater has the Kraken hammer, and a way more powerful captain, in which the Silent Marry only has that weird ship-eating ability. And a ripoff of Davy Jones for a captain.

As an answer to the week's question... I think I would side with Athena's Fortune and the so called "good guys" (Flameheart included). The Cap'n is such a captivating villian. His cunning and manipulation from behind the curtain leaves him a foe fit for a grant tale in the Sea of Thieves. I wonder, were us to choose sides, perhaps Rare could add a feature to either side with the Cap'n or Ramsey and as such you either gain a Ghost or a Skeleton Curse, althought that is not but a passing idea. Interesting with how this aged as well the bretheren are strong they have fleets and the whole siren army and gold and some pirates plus ones they can hire with the gold makes them really strong just no reapers or the challice and I just think the wonda figurehead is a homage to one of the founders and probably before she betrayed them and they still have acces to skeletons

And in an update for anyone else who stumbled on this now: 1) The Reapers are loyal to the Flamehearts, with Jr. having left the service of The Cap'n. 2) Wanda is no longer loyal to the Flamehearts, but *does* still seem to control most skeletons (exception being fort skeletons and ashen skeletons, who are loyal to their Ashen or Skeleton Lords respectively. Ashen skellies are loyal to Flameheart by proxy). 3) Flameheart has gained the loyalty of the Phantoms and Ghosts in the same manner that Davy Jones did. 4) The Dark Bretheren may be willing to delay their plans until Flameheart is subdued, or at least Wanda Warsmith may be (this is conjecture based on a scene from one of the adventure trailers). 5) Another object allowing passage into the Sea of the Damned has been found, so there is the possibility that the Dark Bretheren may make a play to obtain it, free Davy Jones, and sink the Ferry.

Kinda nutty that the Gold Hoarder faction would be on the Dark Brethren's side, along with the Reapers (Possibly. Depends on whether or not Wanda or Flameheart has control, or whoever the Reaper representative sides with since we don't know who they are). I'm assuming the Merchants and the Order would side with the pirate lord, as well as the Sea Dogs and the Hunters... We're looking at a possible four-way brawl between the Brethren, the Pirate Lord and the Ferryman, Flameheart, and the group that's outside of the Sea of Thieves (I forget their name, but I know that the Merchants defected from them), if they ever get through the Shroud. Maybe the Cap'n is their leader o_o I'm really excited for what this could bring to the table game-wise. I'd side with the Ferryman. He's a pretty selfless dude and I respect that. Plus I'd rather not be bossed around by a salty, Scottish squid man. But then again, like you pointed out, I can see Duke being a secret hidden threat to all this. If a war were to break out, I'd most certainly be on the side of the Pirate Lord. The Sea of Thieves is a safe haven for pirates to sail and explore freely. There are no laws or rulers to tie us down, and we can even murder is a thing of the past, since as long as the Ferryman allows us safe passage back to the living world, death is of no consequence. The only rules are the ones we make ourselves. Anarchy at its absolute finest. If the Dark Brethren were to win, only those who pledge obedience to them would be allowed to walk free. From the mouths of their own court, they'd rule with an iron fist. The Ferryman punishes those who threaten our freedoms, but they'd punish anyone who doesn't share their view. Also, Duke abandoned Umbra for the Brethren without saying a word, leaving her with self doubt... so... Respect, severed. Burning rage, remains. As for _if_ a war will break out, I think it's more of _when._ And I eagerly await the day of reckoning. IGN: PassiveGlory.

So since the latest adventure (A Hunter's Cry), here's what I foresee; 1, Duke feels more and more like a double agent. He's getting in over his head and I think he'll likely recognize that. And after the Heart of Fire novel, I think there's a chance he might be able to recover his old memories, which might cause a turn, or simply trying to take down Flameheart. 2, I suspect Amaranta and the Warsmith might start butting heads going forward and I suspect the Warsmith might be overthrown. Amaranta wields that Gold Hoarder Staff, dresses like the Warsmith, and had a couple dialogue options during the adventure in which she tried commanding a strategy, but the Warsmith disagreed. Considering they failed to get Merrick's secrets, that might cause a mutiny, and Amaranta might attempt to seize control. 3, as cool as it would be, I unfortunately don't see Pirates if the Caribbean stuff returning. Not saying it's out of the cards, in fact, I'd love to have the Wild Rose return and possibly introduce Captain Hook (the treasure Jack possesses is reportedly powered by pixie-like beings), but it might interfere with the larger story Rare is trying to tell. 4, I think an all out war is coming to the Sea of Thieves. We had the Lost Sands event before the Sovereigns arrived, the true evil of the seas, which had the community pick one of two sides. But what if we had an event that saw even more options? Say the Pirate Lord forms an army, Flameheart/the Reapers form theirs, the Dark Brethren have theirs, and the Sovereigns have theirs. What's stopping Rare from doing that? That's all the speculation I have for now.

Ok, update on the current brethren situation, they can travel across worlds and can possibly free Jones. Thankfully we were able to keep Merricks secrets out of their hands. Flameheart is out of the question for now, unless PL let's him out which I don't think he'll do. We also have the maritime union to worry about now, who are currently wild cards. One thing he never mentioned is nearly unlimited supplies thanks to the merchant alliance, who also have something that will get Jack back with us when he eventually comes back, that being rum, imagine what Jack would do for devil's rum? Our fleet has been reduced to the captains of the damned, Pendragon, the pirate lord with the veil, our own captained ships, Belle who can possibly guide us through the sea of the damned, the bilge rats, the ferryman, as well as the order and merchants.

If I had to choose a side in a war, I would have to go with Pendragon. Realistically, this is the basic good guy vs. bad guy story and we all know that while the battle might be incredibly challenging, the side of the Pirate Lord and Flameheart would win. It also looks like Rare might possible be setting SoT up for a sequel with the storyline, again, its just a possibility, anyway, I honestly hope this can become your full time job because you cover the most interesting topics for Sot on youtube, gamertag FoxPaw91.

It would really depend on who's on what side, as of now Athena's Fortune is a bit weak, and their numbers and influences are limited, and if other people/crews from the Pirates of The Caribbean they would change the game (Silent Mary and Queen Anne's Revenge) and would really sway the war. I think that Flameheart's armada or the Ferryman would be the choice because they have access to a seemingly unlimited supply of ships, across a variety of terrain. also, regardless who you choose, i would just like to say keep up the good work Quackky6862

All in all, it seems pretty cheap to me to have the Flying Dutchman swept to the side so nonchalantly in this conflict. I mean the Dutchman is THE most deadly ship on the seas, and to have it MIA is no way to handle such a property. That being said, I guess it makes some sort of sense, since Davy Jones isn't on hand to command it, it's crew may be lost without a captain, and they are physically incapable of taking orders from anyone other than their captain.

If it comes to war and we can pick sides, I want to say I would side against the Dark Brethren as they seem to be the bigger threat to the pirate way of life, and I quite like the idea of siding with a villian (Flameheart) to take down an arguably bigger threat. However, I would be curious to see how we were to be treated by everyone if we were to side with the Dark Brethren. No doubt our betrayal would instantly vilify us in the eyes of Pendragon and some of the friends and allies we have made, but I wonder how the Pirate Lord would react, seeing as he currently wants to take a back seat in most things that happen in the Sea of Thieves. I also want to know what the Cap'n would say, likely knowing how we have fought against him yet for some reason joined him later. Id be on Flame heart and Pendragons side. I feel like it could go like this, to the behest of Flameheart and Pendragon, theyd need a sort of, quid pro quo bargaining chip. Pendragon would help Flameheart get his body if they could assist on the attacks of the brethren, it would be risky, but risks need to be taken for anyone heres ideals. I think the Dark Brethren and Flameheart (both senior and junior) are trying to get dominance of the Sea of Thieves. This is between them and we have nothing to do with that, we are just inhabitants of this lands and will suffer the consecuences of that collosal clash. And if I had to bet about a double agent... I'd say maybe Wanda is the one, because she always was controlled by Flameheart curse and whispers. It seems quite strange to me that she is just... Id like to point out we pirates can cannonically cut short the ocean crawler supply of the siren queen (if shes even still alive) by destroying ALL of the mermaid statues (big and small),giving the merchant alliance a shit ton of gold(which Reminder we have full acess to the gold in tribute peak) to not only stop the cargo ships from going around but also let US do the cargo stuff because we can fight our way off the sirens,this way they cant to mermification to the crew members of their cargo ships BOOM ,I single handedly planned out how to stop the land and sea invasions

Well, looks like the Dark Brethren has left themselves on shaky ground. Davy Jones locked away in the Sea of the Damned, Siren Queen in hiding after the Coral Fortress was breached, and Gold Hoarder has been sacrificed to create the staff that the Brethren's remaining members use to move between the worlds of the living and the dead. Sure, they have gained an ally with Amaranta, but one disgraced Sea Dog is not enough to make up for what they have lost.

I doubt Jones will be imprisoned indefinitely. The Dutchman could have been salvaged by the Sirens and who is to say the Jones himself couldn't manipulate someone into releasing him, just as we did for Jack Sparrow? Also, Jones has his own sea of the damned he can teleport and travel through. Is it possible he could escape via Davy Jones' Locker and return to menace the Sea of Thieves once again?

Ramsey taught me the credentials to becoming a Pirate. He believed and saw something in me, something that made me the Pirate Legend that I am today. So it'll feel morally wrong to betrayal his trust. I've also sailed and fought along side Sir Pendragon in an legendary battle against the one of the members of the Dark Brethren. It'll be dishonest of me if I back stabbed Arthur. I value our friendship to much to do nothing but fight along side him in any battle... land, sea or even undead.
