As usual some weird scoring hands on this: 1. I fell asleep on the play and pulled trump forgetting to ruff the diamond first so only got one ruff and also didn't notice the heart super restricted choice so 4S= which remarkably was 67.9% for a poorly declared hand. 2 and 3 were the same result although I bid 4D instead of 3S on 3 but then ended with the same cue-blackwood-6H (can't double finesse the hearts also because only one entry to the board). 4. I started on clubs too soon and didn't get the info on heart length so lost a club to the J with E as well for 4S= 35.7%. 5. I bid 3H over 3C, not 4, and then sold out to 4C and got 78.6% for holding them to 10 tricks and -130. 6. I did same as you and felt 39.3% for choosing to guard against the danger hand in finesse choice was unlucky. 7. I also didn't want to sell out to 2H, but I tried X which fetched 3D by partner penalty X by E and I ran to 3S undoubled which I managed to bring home for down 1 and -100 and 96.4%! 8. Same 3C= on the same trump lead. Overall 68.3%, unlucky in the scoring on 6 IMHO, but more than made up for with generous luck on 1 (bad play) and 7 (lucky landing spot, and lucky penalty X by E letting me run). Down 7 vulnerable was an impressive feat. Just last month at the club I was down 6 vulnerable (undoubled) in 1NT (3rd seat mini) despite starting the hand with two A in my hand (my -600 beat one table's -620 and pushed one table's more normal -600 for 3nt= iirc). Amazing when 6 and 7 down vulnerable aren't complete bottoms!

My term for +/- 400 for the defense is making game the hard way. I don't think I've ever seen +/- 600 or 700 before this WFIT.

Thanks for the insight, particularly on board 4.

Nice recovery, Pete. Don't play again with the guy that bid 3D.

Bd 7. If you think the robot’s 3♦️ bid is bad, if you then bid 4♣️ as I did, then the robot bids 4♦️(!). I got a bad score as I went down 8 and didn’t hold it to down 7.

Why would it bid that? Brutal

2. I managed to goad a diamond shift in a completely different way. I think it was just randomness in how the bot interpreted my discards. 5. You have to strip to get the bot to hop with the A. 7. The 🤦♂️ was priceless and familiar!

Unsure why you bid 6H missing AC QH? The robot knows to show the queen with 6

Nice play board 4!

Board 6 on cashing the final club, I discarded a diamond and just ducked a spade to West. That gives an extra trick if spade breaks 3-3, without risking losing the diamond king to the ace.

The damn bot put in the q of spades on the same play by me:-)

Board 6, 3NT was in deed interesting. You do not need to finesse into the danger hand to make an overtrick, in fact if you do you can make 2 overtricks. When you run your clubs West did discard a diamond and a heart and East 2 diamonds and 2 hearts. To preserve your options you should discard a diamond not a spade on the fifth club. The third diamond is useless. Given that only 3 diamonds have been discarded makes it likely that you will get your diamond king anyway if the ace is onsite. Meanwhile your chances for 3 spade tricks are in fact above 50% since you hold the ten as well as 8 and 7 When I tried a spade from dummy, intending to play the ten, East went in with the queen (good defense) forcing the ace. I cashed the queen of hearts and then played a spade to the king and another spade end-playing West to open up diamonds.
